  1. Not a smart pass but poor effort by Brown
  2. I disagree. Owners like Kraft and Jones were almost certainly on speed dial. NFL is a $100B organization. This was its worst nightmare. No way Goodell and certainly not Vincent were calling the shots.
  3. There had to be at some or all of the 32 owners telling Goodell what to do and then feeding that to Vincent. A guy dying on the field is the worst possible thing for business. There’s no way the owners weren’t pulling the strings. Probably why it took so long to cancel. Needed to get a hold of the owners to approve the cancellation. Goodell and Vincent are highly paid PR guys put out there to take fire for the owners. They make no major decisions on their own and this would qualify as a major decision.
  4. Can’t see McDermott allowing Hyde to suit up until he’s fully healed.
  5. Haha. An all-time favorite movie of mine that holds up over time. Randolph and Mortimer are perfect depictions of NFL owners.
  6. This is 100% a Bengals source. They got screwed over the most in this situation and Brown has always been a bit of an outcast amongst the other owners. But good for them, NFL’s hypocrisy needed to be called out. A man dying on the field in front of a prime time audience is the League’s worst fear. Not because a man died, but because it would devastating for business. It’s the scene from Trading Places in the commodities pit where they’re wheeling the old billionaire off in a stretcher and he’s yelling to get the traders back in here. More worried about they’re money than anything else.
  7. Nobody deserves a bye in NFL anymore. The schedules are unbalanced and teams don’t even play the same amount of home games with the 17 game schedule.
  8. The Diggs catch on the sideline where he lowered his shoulder with his head to the side and delivered a hit to the DB is how you play clean and hard.
  9. Only Higgins knows what his intent was and yes his shoulder hit Hamlin in the chest, but it also looked like he lowered his helmet under Hamlin’s chin/face-mask. Bart Scott taking a lot of heat for suggesting it was dirty by Higgins especially since Hamlin is still in critical condition and Higgins clearly effected by it, but that’s how I saw it too. And I’d also say Cincy crossed the line of physical play to dirty/intent to injure the first 10 minutes of that game.
  10. Dudes are too big and fast now. Way too much force and violence once they reach puberty
  11. The only thing I took from the first 10 minutes of the game is that the Bengals had a plan to go right at Tre White, and were so confident in that plan succeeding that they elected to receive the opening kickoff.
  12. This was definitely McDermott’s finest moment. I criticize the guy sometimes, but he’s a good human being. No way he was putting his team back on the field.
  13. Definitely a play design thing. Watch other NFL games and you’ll see a lot of quick throws at or behind the line of scrimmage. I guess when you have a QB that can so easily gain those same types of yards with his legs, Bills don’t see the need to draw up those types of plays. Davis and McKenzie could definitely execute those plays though. I think at the beginning of his career, Daboll let Josh be Josh. Now I think Josh is a mature enough QB to dink and dunk you down the field if that’s what defense is giving us.
  14. Dolphins will keep Tua for at least another year. Not so sure about Jones. He’s looked really bad without a top notch running game, which they had last year but not this year. I could see them moving on this off season.
  15. He’s Jared Goff. Neither are good athletes and when they’re forced to move at all off their drop-back they’re terrible.
  16. They are very creative with Etienne and Ingram. And Lawrence is an excellent athlete. Lawrence looks legit. After Chiefs, Bills and Bengals, that’s probably most dangerous AFC team
  17. What a moron. Even if the guy deserved it, you don’t jump him in a nightclub with cameras everywhere.
  18. His ability to play the ball was so sorely needed. Seemed like he had more pass breakups saturday night than the whole secondary the previous month.
  19. As long as we take a player on the Offensive side in 1st round, I’ll be happy. And it’s past due to spend money on the Offensive Line in free agency.
  20. No it wasn’t. He was at most a half yard off the line and kept checking with the side judge. Even NBC’s former ref said it was too technical to call in the 1st quarter much less in the last minute of the game.
  21. I don’t think it’s corruption, it just poor inconsistent officiating. You got one over-officious clown ref on one side calling a bogus procedure penalty and a coward ref on the other side afraid to call a clear DPI on the next play. That’s always been my gripe with NFL officiating. There’s too many different guys that can throw a flag on any play and it leads to inconsistencies and teams being at the mercy of one of 8 guys that will or won’t throw a flag on any given play.
  22. I’ll give NBC a lot of credit. Their former ref rules expert even said the procedure penalty was BS in addition to the obvious PI.
  23. Pretty horrible sequence for the refs. A BS technicality call to erase a TD, then obvious missed PI.
  24. Agreed. Kudos to Collinsworth for telling it like it is. Most of the NFL TV guys are shameless shills.
