Doubt the Browns would let anyone know this, but this is why I think it's BS that people think no QB's are going in the top 10. When you like a QB who generally has a 1st round grade, you don't get cute and hope he's there at the end of the 1st and beginning of the 2nd round. My guess is that Manziel and Bortles are gone by pick #9, with a good shot that Carr is too. I can understand the Texans taking Clowney, but it would be ridiculous for teams like Jax, Cleveland, Oakland, and even Tampa and Minnesota to pass on Manziel, Bortles, and Carr. Bridgewater is also an upgrade over any QB on their rosters.

Houston looking to trade 1st pick (Buffalo?)
BuffaloRebound replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think all the top 5 teams interested in a QB (Houston, Jax, Cleveland, Oakland) would prefer trading to bottom of the top 10 to take Manziel, Bortles, or Carr. If Bills want to trade up, there will be opportunities. -
Houston looking to trade 1st pick (Buffalo?)

Count me in the 'Mack is the true target' camp. Clowney talk is a nice smokescreen, but we aren't giving up next year's 1st rounder. If Mack makes it to Raiders pick, I think Bills trade up. -

This is why I'm not buying this. Could see Bills trading up for Clowney if it didn't include next year's 1st rounder but don't see how they'd get up to #1 otherwise. More likely that Whaley trying to lure someone like Atlanta to trade up to #1 with Houston taking a QB at #6, pushing one of the top non-QB's closer to #9. -
Who believes in Manuel?
BuffaloRebound replied to Chi-town Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Highly touted? Manuel wasn't even considered the best QB in a horrible QB draft class. Charlie Casserly, former Redskins and Texans GM, said he would rank Manuel 8th best QB in this draft class. Former Bears GM and long-time scout Greg Gabriel ranks Carr as his #1 QB in this draft. Do you think anyone would give Bills a 1st round draft pick for Manuel? I think we'd be lucky to get a 3rd for our highly touted player who can't stay on the field. -
Who believes in Manuel?

Excellent post, but not sure why we shouldn't consider QB in 1st. Stuff rarely happens the way you plan it will in NFL. If EJ is smart enough to step out of bounds in Cleveland game, maybe we win that game, EJ shows more promise, and we finish with .500 or better record or maybe even make playoffs. But he didn't and we are almost back to Square 1 at QB position. If Carr is available at #9, pull the trigger. Get a 3rd rounder for EJ and move on instead of most likely wasting another year. Carr is a much better prospect than Manuel. Not even close who the better passer is. -

Super high on Carr. Wouldn't have any problem with Carr at #9. Trade EJ for 2nd or 3rd rounder. Have a feeling we will be kicking ourselves next year that we passed on Carr and are stuck looking at prospects of drafting an inferior QB next year after EJ struggles again. There's no cookie cutter template for getting your franchise QB. Gotta grab opportunity when it presents itself. -
Tom Savage - Strongest arm in the draft?
BuffaloRebound replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Admittedly didn't see him play that much, but did see the UNC game. Multiple occasions they blitzed him up the middle and his feet looked like they were stuck in concrete and he curled up in the fetal position. Flashbacks to Bledsoe. -
Anybody not named Clowney, Mack, Watkins, Evans, Robinson, or Matthews. Since probability of that happening is less than 50%, try like hell to trade down. Start creating a buzz around the QB's. Bring in Bridgewater and Carr for visits. Make teams like Cleveland start sweating that they can wait to take a QB.

Reluctantly agree. Manuel didn't show much last year, but he showed enough where you gotta give him another year. It's not like any of the QB's in this year's draft don't have a lot of questions. I actually think Carr will be the best QB in this draft.

Jameis Winston wearing Bills gear on Twitter
BuffaloRebound replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks a bit like the Penn State "we fulfilled all our legal obligations" Sandusky response. Interesting that FSU doesn't refute the Assistant AD calling TPD about the matter in January 2013. -
If Clowney, Robinson, Matthews, Mack, Watkins, and Evans are all gone, I'd take Cleveland's early 2nd rounder to move down to #26. Someone like Beckham, Mosley, or Roby could still be there at #26. Seferian-Jenkins could be there at #35. Draft has 1st round talent through mid 2nd round. All drafts are not equal. Trade value chart more a guide than anything else.

Donald Trump asked to invest in the Bills
BuffaloRebound replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great that he's saying he'd keep team in buffalo, but can't see how this would end well. Doesn't have any attachment to area or anything in common with the fan base. After brief honeymoon stage, could see things go south quickly. Meddling, loudmouth, glitzy owner in a blue collar town. -
+1. Not sure why they'd tinker with the timing of draft but I guess if NFL had no problems moving Super Bowl into February, moving draft back 2 weeks isn't a big deal to them.

If Clowney, Mack, Watkins, Evans, Robinson and Matthews are all gone, gotta hope someone wants to trade up for one of the QB's.

Report: eagles tried to trade for spiller
BuffaloRebound replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
More and more things pointing to a Spiller trade. Bills supposedly interested in Chris Johnson. Bills bringing in most of top RB's for draft visits. Now this news about Philly inquiring about Spiller. If Bills aren't gonna be able to re-sign him, I'd take a 2nd round pick for him. -
Tom Savage - Strongest arm in the draft?
BuffaloRebound replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. Slow feet in pocket and not a fast release. Has a good arm (not as good as Carr's), but don't think he'd hold up to an NFL pass rush. -
If We Pass on Ebron .... We Will Regret it
BuffaloRebound replied to TheBackupQB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
0.07 seconds faster in the 40 is by a longshot? If you watch them, Ebron is better over the middle and on screens. He catches it, gets up the field quickly, and breaks tackles. Ebron is the more physical player. Also seems like less of a head case. Wouldn't have a problem with Evans at #9 because the guy is super talented, but Ebron is too. -

BuffaloRebound replied to TheBackupQB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd probably prefer Evans also, but their physical traits are pretty close. If you go by combine measurements, Evans is 3/8th's of an inch taller, 0.07 seconds faster in the 40, arms are 1 and 7/8th's inches longer, and vertical is 5 inches higher. Ebron has 19 pounds on him and is significantly stronger (24 reps vs. 12). Depends on what you're looking for. Ebron better across the middle and on screens. Can use him as a fullback too. Evans better in jump ball situations and on the outside. Some people here are selling Ebron short. He is a very good prospect. Not sure about him at #9, but if we could trade back I'd be happy with him in the middle of the first round. -

BuffaloRebound replied to TheBackupQB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not a big fan of Ebron at #9, but Tight Ends are basically big WR's now. Impact is much greater now than ever before. Look at the numbers some of these guys have put up in the last 3-4 years. Gronkowski and Graham would be top 10 picks today, probably top 5, if they came out of college as clean prospects. -
Are the Quarterbacks going to start dropping?
BuffaloRebound replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd take Geno over Bridgewater. At least Geno has an NFL arm. Can't understand how anyone has Bridgewater rated ahead of Carr. Carr is a better athlete and has an elite NFL arm. Guy throws lasers all over the field. He stands in the pocket and takes hits. His team won at a high level. He's -

If Derek Carr wasn't David Carr's brother, he'd be talked about more as a top 5 pick. I'd take him before Bridgewater and maybe even Bortles. Wouldn't be surprised if he's taken before our pick. -
Can't see Bills taking Ebron at #9. Maybe in a trade-down. No obvious candidates like Rams last year who'd want to trade up though. Brandon and Whaley seem pretty aggressive so I wouldn't be surprised with a trade up to get Robinson or Mack. Jax, Cleveland, and Oakland prime candidates. Similar to us with EJ, if one of them likes Carr, they can safely trade down and still get him at #9.
