Weren't Pats asking for multiple 1st round picks in the offseason for Garrofalo? I think this is a smart deal by SF. They waited the Pats out, got a chance to scout the 2018 college QB class, and got their guy for a 2nd round pick.

Nobody was gonna trade anything in the offseason for Dareus and his contract. Now was the only time anyone would be desperate enough to eat that contract. Teams are not desperate in March and April when they have free agency and the draft to fill holes. Even if there was interest in Dareus the player, teams would've waited the Bills out in the offseason knowing the Bills would cut him. Houston had to give up a 2nd rounder to get somebody to eat Osweilers contract.

Bills were obviously going to cut him. They saved the $7.5m guaranteed they would've had to pay him next year and got a 6th rounder.

Well, Houston had to give up a draft pick to get rid of Osweiler's contract. Bills got a 6th to get rid of Dareus's contract.

The odds of a guy turning around his career who's already been paid $70m with another $15m guaranteed are extremely low. Doesn't strike me as a guy who loves football.

Only thing that could make this game better is if someone in Ravens secondary tees off on Landry.

I can excuse not being able to avoid hitting Flacco in that situation. No excuse for putting your forearm into a guys head who is already on the ground. For me it all comes down to how the rest of the NFL values Bills players. Other NFL teams were willing to either pay more than their Bills production suggested or give up high draft picks for Woods, Hogan, Goodwin and Watkins. Meanwhile Tyrod took a $10m pay cut to stay on the Bills in a QB starved league. Pretty obvious what rest of NFL sees as the major problem with the Bills passing game.

Totally agree. Players need more than 4 days in between games to recover in today's NFL. Thursday night games have become what the Toronto series became. Time to put them to bed.
