Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president in 2024?
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That’s the big picture number, but when contemplating the likelihood of an individual living over a certain period of time, individual characteristics tell a much more detailed tale. On the one hand, Biden seems to take his health and appearance very seriously. He’s trim and seems to stay active at least for photo ops. He’s benefited from good plastic surgery and hair work. On the flip side, he’s got that stuttering issue that causes him to make up words, lose track of his thoughts, wander a stage aimlessly, trip over sandbags real and imagined and result in unusual and awkward movements inconsistent with the situation he is in. Time will tell. -

Roundy, do your thing. Your body, your rules. Why not leave others in peace with their gas stoves, SUVs, and reasonable carbon footprints? Btw a 14 year old Swedish girl who runs the global warming platform for the world says you’re dead already. -

No, they’re not. It appears increasingly likely that Joe Biden was involved in a multi-year pay for play and bribery ring, leveraging his drug addicted sons self destructive tendencies, and used the weight and power of the govt to cover his tracks. That, coupled with his desire to stockpile confidential and classified documents would be of great concern to the average independent. Still, you seem more concerned with his sleeping/prune juice schedule than anything else. Besides, my point want that you’re literally on his jock like static cling, it was just that it’s likely the perception of people that you are. So, you think the boycott over bud light cans is silly, others think the stalwart defense of Biden by a Bidenista is the problem. -

Don’t lose faith yet, Irving. I was there a few years ago, seeing one big uni party where modest differences separated candidates, and the reality that most, if not all, had some version of being on the take. Trump wins, the world turns upside down, and good, bad, or whatever else, the country presses on with a clear outsider. Suddenly, Biden is getting dinged a bit. Whistleblowers are being acknowledged as credible. The pushback starts to come on the Hunter sweetheart deal. You’re never going to convince the Biden loyalists here, but if the envelope gets moved on the inherent dishonesty of the democrat party, who knows what happens? The flip side of course is Team Biden reads the tea leaves and sweetens the pot on student loans to every dollar owed or previously paid, throws in a few car payments and every 3rd Visa bill relief. Stay tuned. -

John, respectfully, from a different perspective——you’re all over Biden’s jock and have major issues and boisterous complaints about Trump doing the exactly the same thing. That’s absurd to many people, but to you it’s rational and sound judgement. I would not boycott any business for dedicating a beer can, or packaging of something I enjoy, in this scenario. Live and let live. Togetherness. We’re only here a short time. But people have feelings and emotions and shop accordingly. I find myself unwilling to spend money or commit time to say, a Robert Deniro movie. He’s gone sour imo, and think he hates me generally, so why buy what he sells? And it’s not just because of that horrible overwrought suck fest “The Irishman”, where a 90 year old Deniro was supposed to be curbstoming a 25 year old guy. He looked like Biden battling a teleprompter. Alec Baldwin, same deal. F em. They’ll be fine either way, as will I. Live and let live. Btw you must have missed the executive speaking out about the bud light consumer profile, and how they wanted to move away from their core consumer. That’s insulting, and I would not support a corporation who made such comments. I don’t really see that as controversial or unwarranted. -

I don’t disagree on most of that. Bud Light boycott is the exception, when a brand goes out of its way to alienate their base consumer what follows should be expected. It’s a good lesson for the arrogant, though AB will survive and thrive. -

I’m reminded of a poster here, in an effort to mock another poster who was concerned about getting the vaccine, posted a lemming meme. That about sums up the state of our country today, where a person running with the masses is completely oblivious to the way things are playing out. I also recall a respected poster sort of losing his **** over vaccine hesitancy and debate about safety of the/a vaxx. His background is in medicine, he see a like generally decent guy, but suddenly he was talking about taking away children and placing people concerned about the vaxx on an island. There is a fine line between healthy skepticism and gut instinct, and going off the deep end. I agree generally that establishment types like status quo, and prefer the citizens to shut up and keep moving. -

There’s nothing more effective than the old “We’re coming for your children” troll job. 🤦🏼♂️ These people are extremists and I’m uncertain why you would try and rationalize their behavior. I’m quite certain that any reasonable, decent and loving parent would have the same visceral response to this sort of thing. Creepy af. -

I don’t know about all that, Ja, I always thought of him as a bit of a nut job. Taking one part of his platform, though, and comparing it to a candidate’s position during the most recent election: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/harrris-vaccine-i-would-not-trust-donald-trump-n1239422 Biden and Harris, in an effort to appeal to voters, spread concerns about boogeymen and vaccine’s being developed under the Trump administration. It was big business in 2020, leveraging the fear of COVID, targeting people with pre-existing hesitancy and those concerned about the vaccine being developed. When you look back at the entire COVID story—the massive gatherings in direct contrast to the stated rules with no push back, the Faucci flip flop, myocarditis issue with young people, the general clusterf$ckery of politicians acting hypocritically in what they demanded v how they acted, and the insanity of a VP and Presidential candidate recommend people be distrustful because the vaxx to save the world was being developed under an R admin, RFK likely gets more traction than he would have historically. They’ll still position him as a lunatic, but it could get interesting. -
HGH. Juice. Wait for the story to break.

Everything is open to interpretation, that’s why we have dialogue. You made it to your first bullet point before being wrong. He was “not convicted of sexual abuse”. He lost a civil trial, based on an allegation from a plaintiff that could only be brought due to a change in the system, which provided a temporary respite from traditional statute of limitations. We’ll skip the part about how everyone knows there are glaring holes in our system, and it’s often as much a popularity contest as anything else. Be that as it may, he lost a civil case, quite something different than being convicted of anything. I’ll put aside the actual only incontrovertible point here, which is that the entire democrat party encouraged the federal government to embark on multi-tiered, full police power prolonged exploration to find “dirt” on their opponent (we’ll call him Trump) and failed miserably as you have already acknowledged. Again, how you square that with what you claim to be offended on the tape escapes me. The tape reveals Trump speaking frankly to Zelensky about issues associated with corruption and Zelensky being exceptionally accommodating. I’d go so far as to suggest Zelensky sounded as if he was in agreement with Trump. Time will tell whether or not the govt has recordings email or undercover tapes where Trump coordinates/plans the riot. With all the leaks in Washington and DOJ, I’d be stunned if any exist or we would already be reviewing them. Be that as it may, it was a tactical mistake for Trump to hold that rally. Since the Dems and enemies had already revealed they would burn down the country on the Russia thing (among other things) there was no upside and extreme downside. As for disputes on the police response, you’re wrong here on a number of fronts. Trump was the outgoing president, the president does not control the police organization or response, and it’s silly to think he does. There are levels of authority and responsibilities, and the fact that the Capitol was overrun by thugs and malcontents in about 15 minutes should have you as an independent asking…”How the *&$# does that happen?”. From day one, I was pro-police and anti-1/6 miscreants who did anything other than peacefully protest. You could not pay me to attend any of those dog and pony shows, but that’s just me. However, I’d bet the vast majority of good and decent law enforcement officers would love our politicians and left leaning citizens to show half as much concern for their safety and well-being when its ordinary, everyday folks in harms way, not DC power brokers. Yeah, you would be in jail for what Trump did, what Biden did as Senator, VP, and President, what Pence did, and what Hillary Clinton did. That it doesn’t bother you as an independent that one of these things is not like the other is the interesting part. Again, if Biden had one stray classified document stuck between his “Hairclub For Men” and “Hunter’s Meth Dealer” folders, I’d understand. However, Biden apparently had a long history of taking and maintaining documents in an exceptionally careless manner. This, sir, is indisputable. Thanks for playing along. I really, truly believe we’re in for some very rough times ahead as each team escalates the rhetoric. It’s indisputable that it’s extremely effective. -

Help me out here, John. You say you’re an independent voter. Why are you not outraged by the fact that the country went through multiple years of Red Baiting, pushing the Red Scare envelope and by your own admission, it was a false allegation? As a nation, we did that once, back in the 50s, and the senator responsible is reviled and viewed with disdain. I could understand your perspective if the whole “Trump collusion” was a one-off, or thrown out there like Republicans “…want to put y’all back in chains…”. But it wasn’t…it was a multi-year cluster-f$ck that threw the country into chaos, and they played you and other Trump haters like a fiddle. Why would you expect that future parties—-d, r, etc—-would do anything but follow the same script when you—supposedly a free thinking independent—-was completely comfortable with the process? -

Some, but not all of these things are true: 1. The war in Vietnam was started under false pretenses, with those in power misleading citizens about the the threat from Charlie and his red friends being a threat to our very way of life; 2. W Bush and his cronies took our country to war under false pretenses, lied about actionable and credible intelligence and the threat to sour way of life, here and abroad; 3. A recent election was illegitimate, and Putin had a plant in the WH who was so good, so devious that he actually convinced the man who investigated him to write a report that revealed findings other than the that he said he found; 3. That the removal and custody of top secret material from the Oval Office was egregious and a threat to our very way of life, but removal and custody of top secret material from the Oval Office and a couple decades of time in the senate was perfectly fine because it’s called multi-year-slippage; 4. That people are very very concerned about propaganda impacting our elections as a threat to our very way of life, but propoganda impacting our elections is completely understandable when it supports their preferred candidate; 5. That massaging the tax system and avoiding/reducing taxes is an affront to the dignity of our system, but outright laundering money in a multi-year scheme involving one’s father is just an “Oh, everyone does that!”. 6. That the commander in chief is a disgrace because he refused to acknowledge Russia bounties on the heads of American soldiers, but that staging a botched withdrawal from a hostile foreign and the sacrifice of American soldiers is a cost of freedom; 7. That a hospital in Maryland is actually in Iraq. Hard to know what to believe when money and power collide. You know this, generally. -

What’s the point? That people find some things more interesting, more compelling than others? Here’s what I think….if there were two stories running simultaneously, one about the loss of lives on the migrant ship, the other the loss of lives on the sub, some people would follow one, some people would follow the other. It makes neither group (nor the media reporting) bad or heartless. Now, if both those stories were running concurrently, and a large cross-section of Bills/Chiefs fans was driving to the stadium for game day, virtually all would switch to the pre-game coverage of their preference when that option presented itself. Or—if you will, if a compelling story about an NBA championship run came on, Barrack would focus on that instead of option 1 and 1a. DM me if you’re on the Nobel Peace Prize committee. I’m onto something here, and it’s powerful. -
Durham was very critical of the FBI, not limited to missteps. Because it’s irrelevant to the conversation, and adds nothing to the dialogue. If there is something you would like to offer or declare in that regard, have at it. I have told you I am of the opinion that the question is silly, twice or three times, and yet here we are. 🤷🏼♂️
-
Your question on the definition of "cult" was dumb, even by the standards we follow here. To avoid offending future sensibilities, any follow up questions on the definition of cacophony, menstruation, photosynthesis and pizza would also fall into the dumb category. It's weird, though, that when you state that the FBI has made 'mistakes', you don't see that as declaring the FBI as your enemy. Did the FBI make any mistakes in the handling of the Russia investigation?
-
With the dialogue that passed between us, incorrect characterizations about how I feel about various topics, my response to those characterizations, and this is the question you wish to ask? No response to comments on the rhetoric of Hillary Clinton vis a vis Dan Bongino, no response to past controversies involving the FBI? That's interesting to me. On the other hand, your question is not of interest to me, and I don't see it as a test in any way, shape or form.

If the straw man could actually speak, he would spout this sort of gibberish. John stated the following: The DOJ and the FBI are not your enemy. Had John suggested that 'many MAGAs' view the FBI and DOJ as enemies, my response likely would have been different, but that's all conjecture at this point. Don't forget to remind me to tell John about the straw man thing.
