Have you ever "blacked out" driving?
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall
I was careful not to ask him if he was eating paint chips, I don’t know the man and that’s his business. Admittedly I read he was doing a “reno” and did not automatically go to “paint only, post 1977 construction”. I figured tear out, tear down, dust, flakes, etc. I renovated a house a couple years ago, built after WW2, the lady was a collector who took over the house from her parents who were collectors too. Lead paint under aluminum siding and in upstairs rooms, asbestos in floor tile, ceiling tile, insulation, and wrapped around pipes in basement. I recognize the issue as it relates to long term exposure and tried to be clear on that, but in keeping with the facts of his drive I just wondered. And now you’ve got me nervous about this whole thing, @Royale with Cheese don’t eat any more paint chips if you are holding back on any of the details. -

Did they exile you to Illinois because you kept insisting there were no houses built anywhere before 1978? -
Sorry Chief, this works better when you say I’m nuts, in a cult, or a Nazi when I point out the well-published and easily accessible election denying activities of the Democrat party. It works better when you pretend I made up the part about the Steele dossier. That way, you go on pretending that all that stuff about Russia was just water cooler talk. I can only tell you the whole story, a story previously and succinctly told by AG Barr. What transpired was a very ugly part of American history, taught primarily in English so you might have missed it at university. I reject completely your narrative that “It’s all cool up to the day when some @$$holes riot at the Capitol”. Joseph McCarthy and his crew participated in exactly 0.00 assaults on the peaceful transition of power, his campaign was based on destruction by insinuation. In the meantime, as always, when the evidence is presented that Trump conspired with rioters to breach the Capitol, or treason charges are ultimately brought—-I’m happy to revisit this issue. In the meantime, it’s been 25 months since we were all assured the details were rock solid. Hope you’re feeling well, it’s been a while and I don’t like to lose track of those sorts of things.

False and a reimagining of historical fact. The first story was that a foreign national engaged with the DNC and Hillary Clinton to peddle a false story about Russians and urine, designed to scuttle a Trump presidency and impact the outcome of our elections. The story goes on with illegal activity and surveillance against citizens, designed to dig up dirt to impact the outcome of the election, then evolves into allegations of an illegitimate election, a coup resulting in Trump taking control with Russian assistance, and allegations of treason and declarations that hard and fast evidence would prove these allegations. The second story was that so many people believed the first story in spite of the fact that the foreign national lied, no evidence was ever produced, and nothing remotely akin to treason was ever proved. The second story ends with the realty that you can fool a lot of the people a lot of the time. The third story was the IC and government working with the media to censor a story unfavorable to the preferred establishment candidate, thus impacting the election. That would make 1/6 the 4th story, and I am generously eliminating at least 2 other stories that probably should make the list. Along the way, the democrats, including Biden, Popular Vote Queen Clinton worked against country, all parties, all citizens.

I had a series of conversations about the shaman, the riot in general and the punishment meted out. I made no attempts to "justify" 1/6, and the only way to frame that is that @redtail hawk chose to misrepresent what I said and how I feel. I can't say why, but certainly can say that in person, had he done that, it's as simple as saying "You're full of ^&%&, I said nothing of the sort". On the internet, people can take the easy road and just move on.

It's interesting that when I respond to your posts, which seemingly spin off in directions that are difficult to follow, you respond back with gibberish befitting a BillSy post. Over the last few days, it's been eggs, baskets, concrete walls, the national pulse after teh 1980 Olympic hockey game, and a triple lindy time travel to 1/6/2020 as if there was nothing that happened in the intervening 40 years. You're lying about my take on 1/6, there's no reason for that other than to change the subject. That's yours prerogative, but it's fairly obvious that when confronted by your own hypocrisy, you run.

Sherpa is a good poster, though I don't see him playing many games. He seems pretty direct and gets to the point. A logical human realizes that things don't happen in a vacuum, and that context matters in a hyper-politicized environment. Same video of Team USA, take the emotional temperature of the people when the McCarthyesque Part Deux Russia debacle is in full tilt, American psyche is "...polar opposite...compared to that of Lake Placid 1980". L. Ron said, and more than a few agree, that he didn't care about that version of lies and manipulation when people were pitted against each other. You implied it didn't really matter much, those particular claims of stolen elections. I used to wonder "why two standards?", but I've come to realize people can fool themselves into believing the lies they were fed were necessary to achieve the greater good, and sort of skip right past the obvious and stunning hypocrisy of their point of view. Me? I wish the democrats had played it straight in 2016-2020, come after Trump politically without unfounded and scurrilous allegations of treason and fraudulent elections, and the absurd Mueller probe. I wish that had Trump lost thereafter, that he would have left the WH, regrouped and attacked the dems politically. However, the dems lied, schemed, manipulated and persecuted for 5 full years...and won. It seems highly illogical to assume that their destructive yet winning formula would not be reintroduced in 2020, so we get what we get. These are the rules of an ugly game, but that's what you wanted.

I can name 2, and the coach. I’d recognize a half dozen more of provided the names. I still don’t follow your link to political manipulation and propaganda, but maybe you’re asking how I would feel if the Govt refused to allow fans to watch the game under some ruse that national security was at risk?

You're upset, I get it. You want to rush in, throw some verbal punches, get all these feelings of being victimized by geriatrics off your chest, and completely miss the point. That's pretty standard in cases of youthful rage. In that regard, you're neither special nor unique, L, but you are predictable--that's why it works, and your leadership can count on you to support withholding tapes and documents that don't align with the narrative. Meanwhile, dem leadership--the ones telling you the tapes are the boogeyman--has an average age of 117. The shaman broke the law, the shaman should be held accountable for his crimes, the shaman is in jail. I advocated for nothing to the contrary, so maybe instead of yawning because you payed video games and ate Cheetos all night, get some sleep and come back when you're capable of rational, intelligent conversation. As far as rotting, that's fine you feel that way, but ironically it's an old world version of punitive justice you're pitching here. In your quest for vengeance, it should be noted that you probably believed Shaman did violence as you say, but it really doesn't look like he did. That's not me defending him, that's just what the tape shows. How long does he rot for in your Shawshank world?

Thanks for responding, at first I thought you were going from point A to point B, and just lost 30 minutes with your mind wandering from thought to thought. I'm no doctor, but in and of itself, that would be something I'd speak with a doctor about. That said, it sure seems interesting that it happened right after exposure to fumes and painting. That can be some nasty stuff. Seems an awful lot like it just buzzed the %^%$ out of you. One other quick question--any chance you were exposed to lead paint in the reno prior to this happening? I had a friend back in the day who developed issues after repeated exposure to lead paint. I also worked with a man who had exposure to paint fumes from his days in a body shop that really impacted his memory. Again--both from long term exposure. -
I don't think we found common ground at all, Red. You seem determined to change the subject and move away from the point that I feel is most valuable here: politicians and those in authority preventing dissemination of information that goes against the narrative they want to spread. I'll answer your questions in a moment or two, but not before asking a couple of my own. Do you see a reason for politicians and/or law enforcement to withhold the security footage shared of this guy working his way through the Capitol, at one point being one of one with 7 law enforcement officers within 3 or 4 feet of him, under the guise of protecting our national security? Given information previously shared about the Shaman, obviously selectively leaked by politicians and or law enforcement, were you at all surprised to see him strolling through the Capitol, officers around not engaged in defending against a siege, and at times, officers helping him move through the building? Now, to your questions. I think miscreant is a fine word to describe the Shaman. No, I don't think 'insurrectionist' applies based on the video released, and I don't think all miscreants are insurrectionists. On the other hand, if there is video of the Shaman participating in an armed rebellion against the government, I'd think insurrectionist would be appropriate. For whatever it's worth, seems to me the Shaman is/was dealing with some sort of mental illness during this time frame--from the gear, the wandering about, and the prayers offered up to the police officers later in the day. Almost missed the "Miracle on Ice" question. I didn't watch the video, but I guess my question for you would be what makes you think I would see it as propaganda? I do know you suggested that everyone loves a winner, but that's not always true. I think when it gets right down to it, people want to know that the gams was played fairly under rules applied equally to all participants. I offer:

This is a perfect example of emotion overruling reason. I simply offered that the footage reveals a different narrative of this guy than that we, as citizens, were spoon fed. We were further advised that the release of this sort of footage was so dangerous that it should be forever withheld from the public forum. Your response is about violence at the blockades. My posting history on 1/6 is pretty clear since 1/6. These “miscreants”—that is, non-peaceful protestors—- do not reflect my values, do not represent me or my views. I see the worst offenders as those very similar to the worst offenders in the BLM riots. Propaganda is propaganda, Red, even when you like the version being pushed.

@L Ron Burgundy is an extremist that doesn’t know he is, nor does he understand his role here. In the big picture, he’s likely easily manipulated and emotional. Context becomes irrelevant because emotion precedes reason. Through day one, Tucker Carlson and by extension Kevin McCarthy have revealed no national secrets, no special secret entrances, but certainly reveal a different story on the Shaman than painted in the media and 1/6 committee. Yet, the screams are that citizens merely revealing the footage is dangerous for us all. Democracy dies in darkness, but these folks are comfortable keeping the lights off, the shades down, and believing what they are told without question.

I agree he looks pretty fit for an 80 year old guy. He has had good hair work, good plastic surgery and he keeps himself in good shape. More often than not, when he opens his mouth to talk, he sounds quite a bit older than most people I know in their 70s or 80s all other things being equal. A part of that is certainly the stress that comes with trying to remember the things a President has to recall, the order in which to recall it, and all the while not f it all up. All that said, Joe Biden today is a shell of the man he was just a few years ago, at which time he had faded substantially from his best years. When he falters or gets confused, he sounds like he’s 95.

I’m a bit confused here so permit me one question. The plan was to go to McD’s, grab some food, turn around and go home? Should that be like 10 or 15 minutes round trip? Or, was McD on the way to your next stop, planned route but you just sort of zone ld out for most of it? Ok, 3 questions +\-. -

You re-imagined the charges he plead guilty to, and the possible outcome of his civil suit, and I'm rewriting history? Cool story bro, but it's a work of fiction. I never suggested he didn't plead guilty, I actually didn't say anything about that. He plead guilty. My comments dealt with the civil suit he filed, and then things got all hinky with you and BillSy and treason, eggs and concrete. I have no idea if he'll prevail or not. I do know that innocent people plead guilty for a variety of reasons. Maybe you missed the last 200 years+/- of American history: https://www.forbes.com/sites/walterpavlo/2018/07/31/are-innocent-people-pleading-guilty-a-new-report-says-yes/?sh=47fc353c5193 https://guiltypleaproblem.org/ -

But there are scores of stories about malicious prosecution, heavy-handed tactics, deceitful investigators and corrupt judges. You know that. I know that. Everyone knows that. We also know that guilty people get pardoned, innocent people get pardoned, that people victimized by the system are sometimes pardoned, and political persecution is a thing. Be that as it may, you specifically mentioned “treason” and he was never charged with treason. He didn’t plead guilty to treason. He was not pardoned in connection with a treason charge. As for Flynn, now, here, today, he’s exercising his right as a citizen to pursue justice as he sees fit. Sometimes, that’s the only option. -

And when your team puts its thumb in the scale. Be that as it may, how is the civil case to end up with Flynn imprisoned for treason?
