  1. I literally acknowledged that you called me “hack”, and here you are frothing about it again. You’re a one trick pony, BillStail. On the plus side—this reminds me to talk with Mup about the challenges of conversing with the obsessive. Ty.
  2. @muppy, this is the sort of thing I was referring to earlier. On the one hand, our perpetually enraged comrade expresses gratitude to others for actions taken in the run up to the election of Donald Trump. That’s nice. On the other, he also referred to me as a “hack”, which seems at face value to be a term of derision. That’s not nice. At the same time, he blurted out gibberish about Putin marching orders, making himself sound more than a little nutty, and it’s hard to gauge the impact of mental issues on a post like this one. When it comes right down to it, all things considered, I think he’s not as sincerely grateful as he has indicated, and appears to be at war with his emotions.
  3. I’m torn on all this. I certainly hate to see people lose their money, and confidence in the banking system props the rest of this mutha up, but it sure didn’t take long for some unprecedented **** to happen. Pays to have friends in high places I suppose.
  4. My feeling, my angsty Mupskateer, is that it’s simply the world we live in, and it’s the same as it ever was. The main difference is people are able to connect to a much wider network of like minded people. I think of it like a web, Mup, a web that is virtually world wide. As for sowing discord, yes, you nailed it. Both sides do it. The Dems went hog wild sowing discord in 2015-2020. The Rs ran a similar game in 2020-2021. My suggestion is trust your heart, trust your mind, and trust common sense. With everything else you should at least consider that you’re being manipulated, and there is a pretty good chance that you are.
  5. Of course, we’re not privy to the negotiations or dialogue that lead up to the decision to plead guilty to that particular charge. Perhaps the narrative was “We can put you away for 50 years, or you can sign off and we’ll put you away for 4.”. When it comes down to TC/Maddox/Lester Holt v. the average politician, I’d say it’s a push as to where credibility, if any, exists to any great degree. When it comes to TC v prosecutors looking for convictions and doing the right thing, I’d believe prosecutors more often than not, but there is a political element to all this. Assuming the Shaman’s attorneys (and other defendants) are being truthful about footage withheld, my question would be why was it withheld? My takeaway from all this is that it sure would be nice if ordinary Americans could count on the type of response to crime and victimization in our neighborhoods that folks in Congress avail themselves of.
  6. Maybe you missed it, but the Pony Express changed the world, and Dayton has a Chik-fil-A. These guys are legit.
  7. I’m mystified by pencils. I imagine a world where the lead is on the outside. Oh well.
  8. I don’t know, I think I’m doing pretty good. One guy is searching kitty kat memes and another is thinking about panties in a wad. Or one guy is searching for kitty kat memes and thinking about panties, which may be more disturbing. Either way, I’m allergic to cats and wadless in this case.
  9. What’s the “super woman” part here? She hit the talking points —China! Russia! Saudi Arabia!—but beyond the toothless declaration that “legitimate questions” exist around the Musk purchase, she really didn’t say anything. As it stands right now, there is an investigation into the FTC and a potential government shakedown of Twitter. There is an investigation into the behavior of the organization pre-Musk. Maybe she’s looking in the wrong spot? My favorite part though was how Vic Chi praised her for being “calm” in a committee room in Washington. Apparently he feels it’s super human that a Georgetown & American University graduate, attorney, delegate to the House, and world traveler could keep her emotions in check during a committee meeting. Maybe it’s time for him to move past a 1950s mentality?
  10. I think you’re on to something, but sadder still is that we’re supposed to gather something usable and educational from a conversation that starts with a declaration from a podium that goes “You’re a piece of ****, you’ll always be a piece of ****, now let’s talk more…”.
  11. One of the amazing things about this exchange is that our culture generally excels when dialogue is open and honest, and we move to a shared understanding of another’s point of view. In Washington, however, what passes for dialogue is reduced to carefully constructed bloviating, often unfounded allegations, declarations on what a person meant by the carefully constructed sound bites, a complete disregard of the answer of the witness, all boiling down to “Explain yourself in 4 minutes, we’ll give you 5 if you were mentioned by name.”.
  12. Oh, no, it was a reference to multiple screen names. I was just trying to throw you off the case.
  13. I think this is spot on, and I’ve said as much for 2 plus years. Interestingly, @redtail hawk suggested I was trying to justify the actions of miscreants on 1/6 yet here he’s got a hearty thumbs up. @L Ron Burgundy offered that folks involved in the day should rot, yet your summary seems rational and nuanced, and he likes it, too. Huh. On a related note, if you extrapolated this reasoned and rational response to the world at large, bottled it up in a candidate of any color, shape, size, and that identified as on the spectrum as m/w/o, called themself a D, R, I or “Any of the above”, and offered sensible solutions to our nation’s problems, some of which I would disagree with due my own life experiences….I’d vote for that person 10/10 times.
  14. I am not going to share identify alleged sock puppets easy or don’t.
  15. The fun here was in setting the bait and dropping the line in the water. Word to the wise: when someone tells you someone else wrote “gullible” on the ceiling, don’t look up! My son got me on that one when he was in elementary school.
  16. Next time, a simple yes or no would do. All this yammering on, I’ll bet your patients used to pretend to be asleep when you checked in on them. But ty nonetheless.
  17. I’m starting to think @Irv is right about BillSy and multiple accounts. I’m seeing a trend. What say you B-man?
  18. It happens every day in Washington, proven liars having exclusive access to data. Next question please.
