  1. Is this a joke? Have you been in traffic? This "traffic" is considered "clear roads" in DC/MD/VA.
  2. I like Tyrod, but he's not better than Flacco. As someone who roots for the Ravens, Flacco inconsistancy often will drive any fan crazy. However, a good case could be made that Flacco is highly dependent on a good system and support cast. He's physically gifted but tends to fade in and out.
  3. Doesn't seem to be athletic - at all. Doesn't seem to know how to use his body. Would liked to have seen what Shaquille could have done.
  4. This site has an amazing number of hindsight GMs. Congrats everyone!
  5. If leaving for airport, which is the best parking lot to use?
  6. I read this in the voice of Rush Limbaugh and then Al Sharpton.
  7. Next week, I'm going to my first Bills home game since 1998 1988 and would appreciate any advice on best food, beer lines, what should we see (I'd like to visit the new RW statue, etc). Best lot to park?
  8. Geez, Louise. They scored 27, outplayed the Colts offense and the first half was beautiful. I thought the coaches gave TT a great deal of latitude. Watkins: You don't "target" a receiver (See: Flacco lock on Steve Smith) if he's not open. From what I saw, Sammy didn't get much separation and certainly not running around wide-open. I also chalk some of it up to Watkins simply not playing much in pre-season and little work with TT in particular. In other words, I'm excited that this offense can be much better, especially if they OLine can figure out how to open a running lane or two. Find something else to complain about.
  9. The pundits are correct until the Bills finally prove them wrong. Until then, no reason to get all worked up over predictions.
  10. If you don't speak the language fluently like a native you will sound pretentious. But point is, she does, and and why it's ridiculous that people would get upset about how she pronounces each name.
  11. You miss the point or ignore it completely. If the man's name is Patel pronounced "Pah-tell" that how you pronounce it, even if everyone you know says, "Pay-toll." You don't need to change your accent, just say the guy's name correctly or best you can, it's not that hard. I know many people with difficult names from India, Pakistan, Africa, etc, but it would be an insult to pronounce their name incorrectly just because it's said different in the U.S. (e.g., "JOE-hand-son" vs "YO-Hahn-son"). If you're unsure or have trouble, ask them for a phonetic spelling until you get it right. Native (and nearly native) speakers can easily sound out a word (I can't roll my "Rs"), but why should we expect tehm to change their accent to speak a fluent language? I'm sure many would get upset if Spanish speakers told us we shouldn't speak English words with an English/American accent in a Spanish country. Morover, in this case, the woman SPEAKS Spanish fluently, as well as someone who only spoke Spanish. She's not changing her accent, she's speaking Spanish.
  12. Yup, why use Spanish pronunciation for Spanish names like Casa Grande?
  13. Story says she grew up speaking Spanish and English, living in Miami, Columbia and Spain. I've lived in IL, DE, NY, CT, PA and MD.
  14. It's amazing anyone would be upset about pronouncing a pronoun in its native form, especially if the speaker uses the native language. Get a grip. Xenophobia fries the brain.
  15. Stay away from crazy.
  16. You seem to live in fear. Not a way to go through life.
  17. Irrelevant to the QB decision. You don't sign someone to not play them because you might lose them.
  18. I saw EJ make the best of a difficult assignment. I don't believe Cassel (and perhaps TT) would have done as well. Actually, Cassel may have been killed.
  19. Bad week for the Bat Family.
  20. ^This x1000. You need to play with the player available. Can't say, "Well, if only we didn't have injuries." You play with what you got.
  21. Great thread. Good work, Moshermw. Time will tell but your general thoughts were worthy of discussion. I always get a kick out of posters who are so damn sure that something is "stupid" and "would never happen." Sucks for them that the internet can be a cool time machine. Too bad it doesn't make folks a bit less arrogant.
  22. I've seen them three times and every show was great. (I especially liked the Wasting Light tour in DC). Grohl is an outstanding entertainer and makes you think that the concert is the best time he's ever had. On July 4, even with his broken leg, they found a way to make it a lot of fun. Two things I especially like about their shows: they find one or two songs for an extended jam session; each one is full of nice surprises; the second is a cover song, which are as good, if not better, than the original. My favorites were a Tom Petty song (that I'm blanking) that they they could release as a single, and on July 4, Taylor Hawkins was lead on "Pressure."
