If you know anything about football, I wouldn't have to "articulate" that I meant the regular season. Please tell us when a player sat for the training camp and preseason? It's absurd.

Jesus Dude. During the friggin regular season.

I never said, "sit him just to make a point." Sit Elam until the coaches believe he is the best player for the job. Too many fans seem to think it's clear that Elam should have the job by now, which is not at all clear to the coaches. Elam has occasionally played very well, but he's not at all consistent and may need to demonstrate he can be trusted. He may get there by Week 1, but it's not at all a sure thing.
-
If Elam is not the best player at CB2, he should sit until he figures it out. Elam doesn't deserve the job any more than Jackson and Benford.

Same fans if Milano gets injured: "This team is so short-sighted, they don't have a decent player to fill in!!!!!"

Selecting a backup WLB is not a waste. Fan expectation levels can be so out-of-whack.

Does Connecticut Pizza live up to the hype?
Max Fischer replied to BillsPride12's topic in Off the Wall
IMO, a lot of CT pizza is excellent. But, like everywhere, there are quite a few crap places, too A personal favorite is Frank Pepe's, which is now a chain, but it's always been good. -
FIFA Woman's World Cup...USWNT looking to 3 Peat!
Max Fischer replied to Big Turk's topic in Off the Wall
If the line up is the same players and strategy, Sweden will smoke the USA. Alex Morgan has done a lot for the USA, but now her most significant contribution would be to sit on the bench. She looks very slow, and opposing teams are not scared of her anymore. The defense is pretty solid, but it may be time to give the young, quick offensive players a chance. I'd rather go out in a blaze of glory using the new players than to quietly fade away with the older ones. -

Yup, no doubt it's another massive conspiracy just to conflict with your narrow worldview.

I would have thought you'd go to the source. Only a click away.

"I haven't seen the movie but I'm going to give my opinion anyway." Nolan is a [almost] universally acclaimed as one of the best directors and writers of the past 25 years but please go ahead and offer your thoughts on movies you haven't seen. It appears your thoughtfulness on Nolan is only matched by your critique of Hanks. Like all actors, Hanks doesn't always star in great films, but his performances are usually at the heart of most of the beloved and acclaimed movies of the last 40 years. Just a few: - Splash - Big This run of movies in order from 1992 to 2002: - A League of Their Own - Sleepless in Seattle - Philadelphia - Forrest Gump - Apollo 13 - Toy Story - That Thing You Do (Wrote and Directed) - Saving Private Ryan - You've Got Mail - Toy Story 2 - The Green Mile - Cast Away - Road to Perdition Then later: - Polar Express - Bridge of Spies - Sully - The Post - Greyhound - A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood For TV: - Bosom Buddies - Saturday Night Live - From Earth to the Moon (Writer Director Producer) - Band of Brothers (Writer Director Producer) - Pacific (Producer) - John Adams (Producer) Care to revise your remarks? Rotten Tomatoes - It's at 87% Audience Score, which nearly matches the 90% Critic Score

FIFA Woman's World Cup...USWNT looking to 3 Peat!
Max Fischer replied to Big Turk's topic in Off the Wall
It was frustrating game because Vietnam barely tried to play in the US end. Vietnam essentially stacked their own end, and rarely counterattacked with numbers. Their strategy was don’t give up a bunch of goals by not really trying to score. If Vietnam sent a real attack the US would have countered with much more space. -
Least concerning: Lamar Jackson. All the others can be equally bad, but I'd say Derek Carr. Not because Carr will be "bad" this year, it's because there is little reason to think he will be any better and more likely, will decline, making the remaining three years on his contract that much more painful. I do not believe in Daniel Jones, but Brian Daboll appears to. Plus, he'll have another year under Daboll and additional talent on offense. I'm not sure Giants fans will be happy there will be another three years on the contract, but I don't think they'll be depressed, either. Last, Rodgers. I do not think he'll be anywhere near MVP level again, but he won't be the reason the Jets will continue to be disappointing for the fans. Plus, the team will only have one more year on the contract and time to draft his replacement.

Everything you wrote is speculation based on speculation. It's your "feelings" - nothing is based on fact. Please provide evidence that Diggs "clearly thinks his QB is doing him wrong" or "Now Allen has to force throws his way." Or perhaps you are privy to conversations that Bills reporters have not heard.

Little Help - Getting to airport after the game
Max Fischer replied to berndog's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have flown out after a 1:00PM game several times. He should have no problem. I think the biggest problem folks have is the first few miles. The key is using a parking lot to get out fairly quickly, even if it means parking a little further and even taking a more circuitous route. I've had a lot of luck along California Road. Also, quickly leaving the stadium can save a ton of time, especially after a win when folks tend to linger. -
Most folks are not happy unless they're miserable.

Eat Crow: Your most embarrassing Bills opinions

Im not really embarrassed, just wrong: I was convinced the Bills would resign Edmunds and I would have been very pleased. Thought the opposite of Ed Oliver. -
Any Amateur Beer Brewers? Looking For Tips
Max Fischer replied to SinceThe70s's topic in Off the Wall
I've been brewing for a few years and have been researching my own brewery for several years. A few things have changed: BOATLOADS OF HELPFUL INFORMATION: The internet is chockful of great beer-making advice, from simple extract brewing to very complex methods. Recipes: There are several great recipe sites that provide very detailed ingredients and steps. I highly recommend "Brewfather," which, for a few bucks, it includes printable recipes to order ingredients, "brew along" for step-by-step instructions, timers, and a few "add-ons" to keep track of your progress. There are dozens of free sites as well. Technology: Tech is a huge improvement. Most brewers have moved away from the brew kettle and glass carboys to easier-to-use (and safer) plastic fermenters, and many of the brew systems have become much more affordable and easy to use. IMO, it's worth the some investment into good tools that make brewery much more enjoyable. Some recommendations: electric brew systems, conical fermentors, web and app-based trackers for temperature and fermentation, etc. At first, the tech can seem overwhelming, but the more you brew, the more you'll say, "Ah, that would make this so much easier." Youtube and other sites: There are dozens of well-versed brewers who can provide very helpful tips, tricks, and step-by-step guides. Try a few and find the brewers that you like. For new brewers, discovering WHY something is important will ignite many "aha" moments. (See: oxidation, one of the most important and easy-to-screw-up lessons). Start simple: My advice for those getting back into brewing and teaching new brewers, start with easier recipes and ferminations. Use Single Malt and Single Hop (SMASH) recipes ales that have no dry hop additions and two-week fermentation. If a recipe does not fully explain why you need to do something, look it up. Once a new brewer understands the "why" they will faster graduate to more complex beers. If lucky enough to have one nearby, go to homebrew shop for all your needs, and sign-up for a brew-making class. No matter how many times I brew I always learn something. For on-line materials/equipment, I like MoreBeer.
