  1. I saw the Diggs handshake and Allen going up the bench watching the game live. The kid oozes leadership. And that handshake …. Much like Tampa this year, it has origin story written all over it.
  2. I lost my sympathy for such things sitting through 56-10. It’s not our job to stop our own offense.
  3. It wasn’t on Jones. The ball did flutter mid flight - exactly how the diggs drop in the MNF game fluttered. The laces showed near the peak of the throw on both balls. It lives the diggs ball and probably slowed the agholor ball just enough to let Hyde get there. Both plays were right in front of me.
  4. The McKenzie thing was definitely down by contact/ground dislodging the ball.
  5. That pick happened right in front of me. I missed him running down the Pats' sideline thereafter because I was so stunned that he caught the ball. From my perspective I could see him coming and I thought he would break up the pass or hit the receiver on contact. I couldn't believe that he stole that ball, though. Easily the defensive play of the year.
  6. Belichick was terrible last night. Way too conservative on fourth down when the game was getting away from them. The defensive game plan spoke for itself. And Mac Jones might not be long for QB1 in NE. They won 10 games this year with a guy who is a marginal starter. They may wish to try their luck with Mariota, or Trubisky, or Mayfield should he come available. Or even Fitz. Whatever. An upgrade would serve them well. But of course I hope they stick with Jones. I was wondering before last night if he puts himself in the mix for a job with the Giants.
  7. I there for the Sunday night debacle, and I was there for every minute of last night's victory. Just like you, I wanted to hang 50 on them for exactly that reason.
  8. I agree to a point. The big issue is that there’s nowhere to easily warm up if you’re not in a suite or in a club area. It’s a little better since the bathrooms were redone—they are warm—but otherwise it is really tough to find a place to get warm in there.
  9. They make each other better, but Allen so frequently reaching into his posterior and pulling out something amazing is what makes our offense special. It’s the unscripted stuff that elevates that side of the ball.
  10. I’ll be there. Lower bowl. To watch us beat NE so convincingly that Belichick thinks about the NYG jobs. Go Bills. Done that. I guess it works. Good boots are the best bet, though. And mittens. It’s going to be chilly. That was one effing cold day.
  11. He walked out for the coin toss in short sleeves and very slowly at that. Great stuff.
  12. I imagine that Ankou is coming up this week. But I doubt they cut Butler now. They have no need for Stevenson moving forward. Butler might be useful if, say, we win this week and Oliver can’t go next week. They’ve already paid Butler $2m this year, so no sense in letting him go if there’s a chance he might be useful. I suspect McD is done with Marquez.
  13. I think he’s going to play the same role Obada played against NE last time through. This is going to be a big boy football game.
  14. Depends on what they use him for. Didn’t really work for Kenny Stills. And then, if he gets hurt on a PS contract, bad news. So I wonder if he goes on the active roster and Stevenson (who I doubt would return another punt/kick this year, anyways) goes on IR or waivers.
  15. Im surprised from Shaq’s perspective. Injury risk is significant for a pending FA. I assume he goes on active roster and not on PS.
  16. Good replacement for Obada if Obada can’t go this week.
  17. Remember Bud Grant doing it for a Vikings outdoor playoff game in short sleeves? Awesome, but Seattle won, thanks to a Blair Walsh missed FG.
  18. Fine with me. Daboll takes a lot of heat, but what we have here works.
  19. It was bad - not as bad as MNF, in my view, but still bad, and it definitely affected the game. This is coming from a lower bowl STH present for both games.
  20. Gotta wonder if this is a spot for Daboll. He’s had Tua, and made Tua look good. Hiring him also weakens a division rival. And, he knows the division extremely well. I have to say that I’m dumbfounded that they fired Flores, though, so I wonder if they have any sort of plan in mind.
  21. I don’t begrudge the approach last night. We didn’t start to throw the ball against NE at home until it was too late. We have to try to throw into the wind. And, the Jets played it pretty tight to the LOS when we faced the wind. So we had to try to throw the ball. This. I agree that it’s time to mix a healthy Sanders into the slot. Depending on weather conditions, I’m not against running a little four wide here and there to see what happens. I appreciate that four WR takes Knox/Singletary off of the field, and that those guys have played well recently. But it’s a unique matchup advantage that may work in our favor. The other consideration is that this is round three with these guys in the last two months. So we may have to break out something different. Didn’t NE run some packages with Hernandez in the backfield many years ago? It’s not the craziest idea; again, weather dependent, I’d almost rather see us run 4 wide with Knox in the backfield than give Moss a series (as we did yesterday). Saturday will be interesting.
  22. I hated the wildcat. Hated that sequence. I’m fine with the run there - I would have preferred going for the throat with the wind and throwing the ball downfield. Whatever. Just don’t telegraph the run.
  23. Amen. We let a couple of first downs slip away because he wasn’t catching the ball. All he has to do is catch it. I appreciate that the wind was a mess last night. But this can’t keep happening. Did he muff that one? I was at the game and his body was between me and the ball. Every single return is an adventure with these guys now.
  24. It was lucky the game was moved today. It was brutal in OP until about 1:30. Weather was much better at kickoff.
