  1. These allegations are totally inflated....err.....deflated. Well, they're just not true. To make me believe, you would have to show me the tape, which I'm pretty sure has been destroyed. All kidding aside, this would destroy either/both of them if it was true and they would be subject to massive massive litigation.
  2. No. Career, he's 8 for 30 from 50+. 52 of 71 in the 40-49 yard range. Reading between the lines, I think Carpenter must be hurting. Cundiff is basically going to be here for short FG's and extra points. To a degree this makes sense. Our special teams coverage has been pretty solid on KO and punts, so they're not going to keep 3 kickers on the roster. If the Bills were simply concerned with Carpenter's accuracy (assumes no injury), I think they would have released him outright. In regards to Denarius Moore, this gives me some concerns about Sammy. With Goodwin out as well, they really don't have a legitimate "stretch the field" type of guy. Thigpen has been a solid steaming pile, so letting him go doesn't hurt my feelings. The only reason the team signs a speedster though is if they think they need one and don't have one. Do we hear about an MRI on Sammy's hammy this week? Stay tuned.
  3. The McNabb comparison is a pretty good one. Donovan didn't force the run but used it when the opportunity presented itself to move the chains. Later in his career, he ran less, but that's a TBD for Tyrod. Anyway, I would be more than happy of Taylor turns out looking like McNabb.
  4. I'll qualify this a bit Dave. He's holding onto the ball too long and then NOT making the throws he needs to make. You can't hold the ball for 4 seconds on 3rd and 10 and then throw an 8 yard pass. 3rd and 3 and throw it 2 yards. 3rd and 11 and dump it off to Karlos 3 yards in front of the LOS. 3rd and 6 and just a 4 yarder to Hogan. I'm fine with him holding the ball longer as well, with the big qualifier that he's taking shots down the field. That just wasn't the case yesterday at all.
  5. The OP is trolling, whining, or maybe it's just that time of the month. At the end of the day, why do they even care? I'm glad quite frankly that in this country you can go to an opposing teams stadium and watch a game while rooting for your team without getting lynched in the parking lot. As far as season ticket holders are concerned, I know several that use a couple games per year to finance their holdings. There's NOTHING wrong with that. Get over yourself nancy boy!
  6. I'm with the OP 100%. TT taking far too long with his progressions and getting rid of the football. You absolutely 100% CANNOT throw a 2 yard slant into man coverage on 3rd and 4. Yet, that's what we saw yesterday. 3rd and 10? 8 yard pass to Clay. 3rd and 3? 2 yard pass to clay. 3rd and 6? 4 yard pass to Hogan. I'm not sure if it's all lazy progressions, but receivers shouldn't even be running short routes on these plays. Terrible.
  7. My reality can be dialed up in just a handful of points. 1 - The Giants defensive plan was to make the Bills beat them throwing over the top. For much of the day, Roman's offense refused to even try. 2 - The Bills defense looks like a bunch of undisciplined mouth breathers. More than a quarter of the Giants total yards were from penalty calls. You could argue that at least 14 points as well came from that. 3 - Losing the turnover battle by even 1 (which the Bills did) doesn't bode well for W/L. 90% of the time, if you're -1 (which the Bills were), you lose. 4 - Tyrod is waiting too long to either throw the ball or take off running. This has been the case since the Patriots game. To paraphrase from The Matrix, stop trying to do it and just do it. 5 - The Giants essentially played "Patriots" football against the Bills. No long protracted plays at all. Two step drop and release. We should be doing the same but are not. 6 - I loved the two wins that the team has and thought at first they were against good teams. Not so much so after yesterday. The Colts are struggling and the Dolphins are an abortion wrapped in rotten meat. Just terrible. A loss next week at Tennessee and this season is over. I don't care how you package it, that's pretty much reality.
  8. My game ball goes to Eli Manning.
  9. Let's be serious fellow fans. This defense is monumentally worse than last year. It is baffling to say the least. Someone tell me I'm wrong here, but QB pressure is ridiculously lacking.
  10. I would have to go with McCoy for a number of reasons that all must be put together. First McCoy has just as many receptions as Watkins (7) with two less targets (11). Add his rushing attempts and McCoy is a much bigger part of the offense than Watkins so far this season. That said, I think Karlos Williams will be completely fine as a replacement for McCoy. I don't know if he'll be as good of a receiver, but he's certainly the better runner. As for Watkins, he's been targeted less than Harvin and Clay so far this season. I don't think we'll see much of a drop off in the level of play with Woods. The real question mark for me is whether Karlos can block as well as McCoy has. If he does, I don't think we'll see any measurable drop-off in the offense. If he doesn't, I think we'll see Tyrod take a few more sacks than he did against Miami last week.
  11. He reminds me a lot of Bettis in his prime, but faster. Bills could have a brutal 1-2 combo at running back.
  12. The line rotations really aren't that big of a deal. At the end of the day, the average time passed between snap and throw versus Buffalo was 1.67 seconds. That is beyond fast. Barring an "ole" block of a bullfighter allowing our defensive guys to get to lady Brady, it's not going to happen. I would attribute less success of their line to the players themselves and more to Brady.
  13. At the end of the day, what are the Jets going to say? Would they really say Geno Smith is their guy? He was terrible by comparison.
  14. 2003, they shutout the Patriots 31-0 in the opening game of the season.
  15. The Patriots aren't going to "hit a wall", but I also don't see them going undefeated. Twice they have back to backs with Jets and Dolphins. I don't think that road games in Indy and NY Giants are a lock either. Without Romo, Dallas just isn't very scary. 5 of their last 8 games are on the road, so that will tell us something for sure.
  16. The Bills need to be smart about it. Right now, he's able to get on the field and contribute, albeit not at 100%. The worst possible outcome is playing him just for the sake of playing him and risking a more serious injury. Karlos Williams is impressive. I wouldn't mind seeing what he could bring to the table with 15-20 carries per game. Dixon has been absolutely terrible though. 5 carries for -1 against the Fins? Really??
  17. When I look at the next 6 games preceding the Patriots, I do think it's possible. Getting the Giants, Bengals and Dolphins at home during that span is helpful. Cincinnati is probably the team that concerns me the most of the six they face. Right now, they're playing just a bit better than Buffalo defensively. They absolutely cannot afford to have a lazy letdown week on the road versus Tennessee or Jacksonville. It would be nice to see them reel off 5 in a row and then have to go to the meadowlands to play the Jets. I realistically think that we'll see Miami bounce back next week and both of those teams will be sitting at 2-2. I've never really thought that either the Dolphins or Jets had the potential to be anything other than a middling 0.500 team and that's even giving them something.
  18. In standard scoring systems where passing TD's are 4 and rushing are 6, I would go with Tyrod. He doesn't need to do much on the ground to equalize a guy throwing for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns.
  19. I voted for Miami's WR's and TE's. Here's my logic in a couple of points. The Bills offensive line wasn't the problem against the Patriots. Taylor was for the most part indecisive in getting rid of the football. He still made some plays, but there isn't an offensive line in the NFL that's going to protect their quarterback if he's holding onto the ball for 4 seconds. By contrast, Brady's average time from snap to pass was 1.67 seconds. To boot, the fish have 1.0 sack through the two games they've played against mediocre teams. Brady shredded the Bills secondary with less talent to throw to, so that's really my logic there. If Tanny does hold onto the ball too long, our defense will get to him. Of that I have no doubt.
  20. Given that his contract is fully guaranteed, I don't see the Bills moving him anywhere. Trading him after this season would be an $11m cap hit. That would be just plain stupid.
  21. I've said it well before the start of the season. Miami has been 8-8 for 3 years in a row. Their only real upgrade was Suh and I said he wouldn't be that much of an impact. So far, that's been 100% accurate. At the end of the day, if the Bills (and TT by association) can't put up more points than the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars did, then I'll start thinking about when the coaches will be swapping in EJ. It's not lamenting at all, just simply reality for me.
  22. I'm not sure exactly where the "test" would be coming from this weekend. The Dolphins overall haven't shown us that they're a good defense at all. 372.5 YPG ranks them 25th. Their illustrious sack total so far for two games is 1.0. Ooh....scary. 2 interceptions ranks them 20th. Here's a team that barely beat the Redskins and LOST to what is supposed to be the worst team in the NFL this year in the Jaguars. If Tyrod does anything other than shine brightly in this game, I'll deem it a failure. The Dolphins defensively just haven't been all that good in either game.
  23. To buy off on this article, I would have to buy off that the Jets are going to be +4 in turnovers every week. I'm just not buying it. They've generated 10 turnovers in their first two games. Neither the Browns or the Colts looked good in either of their first two games. Despite all that, they're basically break even on the possession battle on offense (just over 30 minutes) and have moved the ball up and down the field even less than the Bills. By contrast, the Bills are only +2 in turnovers for the first two games combined. The Jets are near the top of the NFL in rushing offense and near the bottom in passing. I would expect the strategy of other teams at this point to be to force them to throw the ball. Pretty much what the Patriots did to Buffalo after the first series last weekend. Are any of the other teams a threat to the Patriots? So far, my answer would be no.
