  1. The comment "Matt Moore was better than Fitz" made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. I've never witnessed a level of football knowledge lower. Perhaps the closest would be someone that doesn't actually watch football. Matt Moore isn't even a backup caliber quarterback. Worse than the Loss-man and worse than captain checkdown. Teams will be afraid of Buffalo's defensive line. They're not going to want to line up against three out of four players that for the most part can't be contained with a single blocker. The product that we have on the field right now could be as good as any since the Kelly era teams.
  2. Watch it be someone like Steve Tasker being signed to be a special teams coach. I hope it's a player, but not going to hold my breath.
  3. The Packers had the best record in the NFL last year and one of the worst defenses. Cutlers best year with Marshall is 25 TD's and 18 INT's. That's not even close to what Stafford and Rodgers have been doing. I live in Chicago and don't even know a Bears fan that thinks they've solved all their problems through the draft and free agency. The Bears biggest problem is their offensive line. In fact Cutler himself just said a few days ago that he "still has concerns as to whether the offensive line can protect him". 110 sacks in 3 years, including a year he was injured is far too many.
  4. McGee is a class act. The fact that the team allowed him the "opportunity" to make most of it back is also something to smile about. Classy move for a change from both the player and team perspective.
  5. It is good to see McKelvin look good in practice, but he's done that before and it just hasn't translated to the field. That said, I think that if the front four can stay healthy that all of the DB's are going to have to cover receivers for much shorter time and give them that much more opportunity to make plays. Given enough time, any receiver can get open from any defensive back. It's truly a game of seconds.
  6. I could see them winning 4-6, but no more than that. That defense is getting pretty old. They did pick up a lot of new weapons for Luck, so we will see what happens. I'm guessing that the offensive line has been propped up by the quick decision making of Manning. I don't see a rookie coming in and having that same mastery out of the box. We will see though. Luck has been as hyped as any QB since Matt Ryan, so we'll see. I like your number though.
  7. Until Forte is signed, I wouldn't count on anything. The Bears organization is being absolutely asinine about Forte. They need to get the contributor of 45% of the Bears offense in to camp. I personally like Green Bay to be the NFC SuperBowl team next year. They have a chip on their shoulder for coming close and missing it.
  8. There's a couple of things to keep in mind about the numbers above. While that's the amount that they're getting paid, that may not be the amount that they save in cap space if they're cut. There has to be consideration for the amount of bonus money that was guaranteed when they first signed that would be prorated against the cap this season. Next and even more important than the first point is that the new CBA requires every team in the NFL to spend 95% of the salary cap or pay it as a penalty. I.e. Ralph can't be cheap. If the cap is $120 million, he has to spend $114 million or pay the difference as a penalty. With that being said, I think there's 3 guys on the list that aren't going anywhere. Kelsay played much better at DE with his hand down towards the end of last season. As another poster said, the organization does have some special kind of man-love for him none the less. I think they'll keep him and let him spell Mario as needed. Merriman isn't going anywhere either. He was a force as a pass rushing LB and that's exactly what he'll focus on this year. If healthy, his value is way way beyond his price tag. I don't see Brad Smith going anywhere either. They didn't really get to use him as the gadget guy they intended to due to injuries last year. Let's face it, the offense was a mess by mid-season. I would punt on all the remaining players though unless they have a very specific backup role.
  9. These rankings are purely entertainment and nothing more. Personally, I'm stoked about this line. Mark Anderson wasn't even an every down guy and was a double digit sack guy. Now you're telling me we get back a healthy Kyle Williams and add Mario on the other side and I think they're going to devastate some teams. Opposing lines are not going to be able to double team 3 guys. At the end of the day, I think the Bills looked at the last two Giants victories over the Patriots and saw a pattern of what works. Get pressure on Tom Brady. Make them a one dimensional team that can't run the ball. My open ended question on the Bills is their linebackers and defensive backs. Do they get better because of the front four or are they just as bad?
  10. I would tend to agree with this statement. The Broncos defense is what won them games last year in spite of a mostly ineffective Tebow. Now you hear reports that Manning is starting to throw the long ball the way he did before his surgery and I don't know why you wouldn't like them in that mostly inept division. The first time that Brady is on his butt will make me smile. That much is the truth.
  11. When you think about Fitzpatrick, you have to address this point. The Bills offense was absolutely dynamite at the beginning of last season. Top-5 in the NFL. However, they had to be. The defense couldn't stop anyone. For all the negative nancy's out there saying we didn't get "X" or "Y" player, you're simply ignoring the fact that the Bills addressed their weakest link this off season (finally!). Mario and Mark are huge upgrades at DE. Our draft is exactly what it needed to be. I'm excited for this season and to see what Fitzpatrick can finally do when he's put in a position where he doesn't feel like he has to take the team down the field and score on every possession. The QB coaching situation is vastly improved as well.
  12. For me, Dwan is the odd man out. I think Spencer has more of the speed that Wanny is looking for. Last, Kelsay playing with his hand on the ground as he did late last season is a different player than trying to play OLB.
  13. 1 - Ryan Fitzpatrick. We absolutely must see a reduction though in interceptions. 2 - Mark Anderson. I'm going off in a different direction here. Williams/Williams/Dareus must be double teamed at times. Anderson with single blocker could be the team leader in sacks this year. 3 - CJ Spiller. Going still off in another direction. Freddy has been hurt every year. Not saying it will continue, but Spiller showed he can carry the ball and well. 4 - Cordy Glenn. I'm pretty sure he's the LT we've been missing since Jason Peters one season miracle. 5 - Stephon Gilmore. Let's face it, McGee is getting old and McKelvin just isn't getting it done. Hopefully his play in practice translates to game day. 6 - Marcel Dareus. I think in his second year with help around him that he's going to be a devastating force in the middle. 7 - Fred Jackson. I hope he's 100%. Better pure ball carrier than Spiller, but not as big of a home run threat. Lunch pail guy. 8 - Dave Wannstedt. Yup, I picked a coach. Defense as a whole will make or break this team and he has to play to players strengths. 9 - Steve Johnson. Only guy I've seen regularly torch Revis. Has to continue playing at the highest level. 10 - Brian Moorman. Special teams is highly under rated guys. Let's just look at the Chargers as an example. They finish the season a few years ago #1 in offense and #1 in defense and still miss the playoffs. Why? Field position. Horrible punting and horrible punt returning.
  14. Last time we were competitive. Can't remember an ass-kicking like this in awhile. We may miss Pat Williams a lot more than most would acknowledge. I have doubts myself.
  15. Time to rebuild, especially on defense. 300 yards in a half is pathetic and lack of adjustments in second half is even worse. I'm pretty pissed off!!!
  16. What a pathetic display of playcalling on both sides of the ball. I can't remember seeing a more inept offense AND defense in the same game. I think I'd have to go back to the 80's Buc's teams to see something similar.
