  1. Addressing a couple of things for this thread and the OP, not necessarily in any order: The Bills aren't "looking at anyone" until there's evidence that L.McCoy actually may have did something wrong. The court filing from last year isn't evidence. Circumstantial. The fact that the perpetrator took jewelry that McCoy was trying to repossess is circumstantial. The idea that McCoy would perpetrate an attack a day before a court ruling to remove his ex from his house seems utterly ridiculous. The idea that they will sign some aging veteran that once had a good season years ago just seems idiotic to me. Isn't Chris Ivory just another aging vet (30) that last had a good season 3 years ago, any different? DeMarco Murray and Adrian Peterson haven't done anything in several years and are simply old Eddie Lacy is even more removed from playing well The idea that there's some young guy out there with so much potential makes me laugh a little when the Bills already have rookie Keith Ford on their roster. He's the UDFA RB that the Bills think may have something to offer. They backed that up with UDFA FB Zach Olstad. With McCoy on the roster, they're carrying 6 running backs and 2 fullbacks. Barring injury, I don't see a pressing need to add a body "just because", even if the McCoy allegations turn out to be true and he misses time. Do we need 8 ball carriers? Why not 10? Why not 15? A balance must be struck at some point with needs at other positions.
  2. Neither of these aging veterans. If this story has legs (big IF until charges are filed, information surfaces, etc.), the Bills still have Ivory, Jones, Cadet, Murphy, and Ford. They're not household names, but you don't sign a broken down dinosaur when you have youth that needs to be tested. This is especially true for a team that's rebuilding.
  3. Until further notice (or Brady's retirement), it's the Patriots. They open as the favorite to represent the AFC in the Superbowl, while our team is near the bottom. Optimistic of having a good season, but realistic enough to not expect it.
  4. I don't think it's so much Moran-alytics as it is Moron-alytics. Tiresome at best.
  5. Interesting topic. Thanks for doing something different! In 2015, I was rooting for Taylor and the reason was pretty simple. I wanted a franchise QB of the future and we pretty much knew at that point what Matt Cassel was and was not. I also felt that EJ Manuel at that point was pretty much ruined. He got some starts in 2013 and then took a back seat to a journeyman in Kyle Orton. He needed to "be the guy" or sit and learn for a bit and he did neither. In 2006, it was clearly Losman for the same reasons. Nall and Holcomb were both journeymen and neither were franchise answers for the team. Once again, rooting for the rookie to be the franchise QB of the future. Fast forward to today and guess who I'm rooting for. Once he starts, Allen should be our starter barring injury.
  6. But that one pass was really really good....so there's that.....
  7. I'm not sure I need to rank them really. When all is said and done, Edelman (at least for right now) is the only one that LOOKS like a #1. Staying healthy for most of the season pretty much guarantees him 1,000+ yards receiving. It's irrelevant that Gronk is with the Patriots, just like it's irrelevant that the Bills probably have the best pass catching RB in McCoy. If Benjamin is a 1,000+ yard receiver this season, I'll just be happy that we have a quarterback that is willing to throw the ball down the field.
  8. I didn't realize that. How many passes has he thrown in the playoffs? If he's every carried any team with his pass play, it should be evident from his playoff performances.
  9. That's quite a contract for a guard. That has to be right up there with the highest paid in the NFL at that position.
  10. Doesn't include times when he ran. It is remarkable and that's really the point. There's other QB's that move around in the pocket and throw. When you talk (before the bye weeks) that there's 31 teams where their starting QB averaged less time with ball in hand, that's a big deal. Brady averaged the least amount of time for the season, but didn't lead the league at that kind of proportion. He didn't lead the league in even double digit number of weeks. Your third point is really what I'm alluding to and why we just can't say whether the offensive line is good or not good. We do know that they run blocked pretty well, which obviously doesn't involve holding onto the ball in the backfield waiting for plays to develop.
  11. All: Get your head wrapped around this problematic issue. In the 43 games that Tyrod Taylor started for the Bills, he took the longest average time from snap to throw in 41 weeks. 41/43X, he was the SLOWEST QB to throw the football on passing plays. That is beyond Tyrod Terrible. There's no offensive line in the NFL that can hold up forever. That's a simple reality.
  12. That is awesome. He's going to audible after the snap. LOL.
  13. If Flacco gets him the ball in the backfield, is he going to refuse to run? Inquiring minds want to know.
  14. Snooze. They're lining up Lamar Jackson at other positions why exactly? Is it because he's such a great QB? You're a laugh-fest and a half.
  15. Watson was a 67% completion college QB. He was a pass first quarterback that could run as well. Remind me again where Watson was picked. Oh yeh, he was 12th overall and hte 2nd QB off the board. Could have gone first. What credit I give Jackson is irrelevant to what NFL teams give him. 32nd pick in the draft. 5th QB picked. That's all that needs to be said. All the man-love that you or others want to have for him won't matter one bit or change the facts. Telling someone "watch him in college" when I did and can tell you he's very inconsistent doesn't change facts. So much inappropriate man-love for Jackson. Reminds me of Nate Peterman.
  16. Yes. Miles behind Michael Vick in every facet of the game as well. I would put him right there with Colin Kaepernick and expect him to last about as long in the league.
  17. Yup. 57% completion percentage. Inconsistent down the field. Long wind up on longer throws. 49 MPH pass release when the ball finally does come out. That's Nate Peterman slow. His PASSING metrics is why he was drafted so late. Nobody would question his ability running the ball. Averaging more yards rushing per game than Saquon Barkley should tell anyone everything they need to know about this "quarterback".
  18. Tyrod and him were both right at 57% completion. Can Jackson run? Sure. That was his game in college. Run first. I could care less. Vick was a generational talent and drafted #1 overall in his draft class. Jackson was the 5th QB taken and the last in the first round. ZERO comparison to Vick, other than in people's minds.
  19. His 57% completion percentage really does jump off the page compared to his peers. What an awesome passer. We haven't seen a 57% passer in generations....
  20. The over/under for defensive points allowed is a tough one for me, considering the offensive turnover. If you were to tell me that the offense was going to be the same with a game manager under center that didn't take chances, but also didn't turn the ball over, I would take the under. However, we don't know what we're going to get offensively. Take away the Nate Pick-erman debacle and they didn't give the ball to the other team a whole lot. -0.50 per game for the offense and +1.67 per game for the defense. That disparity is big enough that we can't really say that it will happen again. I want to be optimistic, but at the same time tend to be more realistic.
  21. He reminds me a lot of Tyrod Taylor, with the exception that he's less accurate; has more of a wind up with his throw; and is much more careless with the ball. Other than that though, he's great. LOL.
  22. I've watched them both play. No measurable difference IMO. None the less, that's against college level talent, not the pros.
  23. Before or after they ran into each other in the backfield? LOL.
