Chiefs Planet yelling for Reid to be held accountable. Where have I heard that before?

Today will show the true character of our team

The Bills will only win if they play perineums to the wall. Nothing less will do. -
True but I also think it depends on the QB’s personality. I’m just spitballing here, but Josh strikes me as a big kid who is people-oriented and thrives on personal relationships. We saw how he and Diggs became brothers quickly early on. Josh strikes me as a loyal guy and I never got the feeling his endorsement of Dorsey was anything more than being loyal to the Dorsey. When Josh went zombie this year, I wondered if he was just lost personally/professionally because Dorsey isn’t the same personality that Daboll was. I’m hopeful Josh’s recent resurgence is due to a growing relationship with Joe Brady and will continue the growth we saw Josh make under Daboll.

I don’t think this is about the players showing their support for McDermott with their play. I think this game is an opportunity for McDermott to prove his detractors wrong by making solid game management decisions, using timeouts and reviews wisely, and calling a defensive series that saves the game if it comes down to holding back Mahomes at the end. Any missteps in those areas causing the Bills to lose will only further fan the flames. My takeaway from the article, having read the first two parts, is that McDermott is not good under pressure and it carries over to the performance of “his” defense in particular. That aligns with what we have seen repeatedly this year and years previous.

I just read the second part and it is pretty depressing. My biggest takeaway is McDermott has a lot of good qualities to organize and instill discipline, but he’s so uptight and so bad in pressure situations, it’s hard to see the Bills ever winning a championship with him. I am definitely pro-Bills and generally give the benefit of the doubt to everything associated with the team, but the evidence presented aligns with the problems we have all seen in late game situations. The overwhelming evidence of McDermott’s demeanor and decisions far outweighs all the discussions in this thread about players buying trucks for coaches and ill-advised speeches. Sean is tight and fails under pressure. I have very limited inside info but do have access to a current Bill who recently signed. He basically has not liked any of his head coaches, except one. All he will say about Sean is “he only cares about defense”. My takeaway from that is most head coaches are unlikeable personally but their ability to lead players to play their best trumps all the other stuff. I’m doubtful Sean has that ability, in fact he has a penchant for bringing out the worst in his team at crunch time.

So you don’t think he has been charged - i.e. had charges officially filed yet? -

I do think there are semantics at work here. There are “charges” a person is accused of and can be arrested for. But there is also a formal filing of charges where the prosecutor has various timeframes in which to file the charges. How this applies in Texas is explained clearly in the first two pages in this link. I think the confusion is Von has been accused of “charges” and been arrested on that basis. However, I have not seen confirmation that the prosecutor has formally filed charges and that Von has been arraigned to make his plea in response to the charges “filed”. The lack of charges being filed seems to be what the NFL and Bills are waiting for in terms of any disciplinary action. https://www.texasbar.com/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Our_Legal_System1&Template=/CM/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=23456
