  1. Sorry in case this has already been posted in another thread..... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24563638/bills-tried-to-trade-up-to-no-1-still-landed-sammy-watkins-at-no-4 Bills certainly were all in on Sammy. Think what the reaction here would have been if they gave up everything Houston wanted!
  2. whooppee for the players. For fans of the Bills, Browns and Jaguars it should be legal to use crack, heroin and LSD...anything that dulls the pain.
  3. Second that. I haven't been this surprised and pumped since we signed TO. Might have to make another purchase on Stubhub this weekend....
  4. With respect to Whaley's comment, I'm assuming he was saying there "wasn't that much difference" between Watkins and Evans. So, my first thought was "why not trade for Evans then, assuming it would have cost less?" But perhaps they figured the price was going to be steep either way and they may as well go all in. It's just a surprising comparison considering Watkins was the highest rated guy on their board. Must be they had Evans right up there too.
  5. Haven't looked at all 400+ posts to see if this has been posted yet, but it is pretty surprising to me: Q: What was the biggest difference between him and the next receiver on your board? DW: I wouldn’t say there was that much. Obviously there is a difference and that is why we coveted Sammy. Not to give any particulars, there wasn’t that much of a difference. To give up a # 1 and # 4 next year for a guy that "wasn't much difference" compared to the next WR is surprising. You'd think Whaley would have promoted Watkins as being head and shoulders above the next WR (pun intended).
  6. it needs to be said: It's on like a MOFO
  7. It's iPad only. Not available for phones.
  8. Clearly, King has been in contact with the Bills.... "Of all the years I haven’t known anything entering the draft, this is really the year I don’t know anything. I texted congratulations to a general manager with a top-10 pick Sunday, saying he deserved praise because no one around the league knew what he was doing at his pick. “Ha!’’ this GM texted back. “Neither do we ” http://mmqb.si.com/2014/05/06/nfl-mock-draft-peter-king-khalil-mack-houston-texans/
  9. No matter WHAT happens - there will be someone to say "I told you so". Take it to the bank (as to your second question - people's opinions are more often unwarranted than warranted )
  10. Yes, I agree with your point that by trading up, you need to get a higher rate of return. By doing some math (which I abhor), these results suggest you generally DO NOT get good value on your return by trading up: http://harvardsports...-the-nfl-draft/ Further, a second paper cited within the above link found that "We find that top draft picks are overvalued in a manner that is inconsistent with rational expectations and efficient markets and consistent with psychological research."
  11. If I worked for WGR, I would want the Bills to trade up as well - not because it makes sense, but because it makes better fodder for talking heads and inane "long-time listener, first-time callers" This article does a good job breaking it down by position. If you want true "odds" you'll have to do some math, but it seems like the "odds" are better to use more picks to try and find those diamonds, rather than going all in with several picks on one guy. http://nfl.si.com/2012/03/30/what-do-all-pro-teams-tell-us-about-nfl-draft/
  12. I got 4 for the San Diego game on Stubhub and paid almost exactly what the Silver individual game price is - including fees.
  13. Or Daryl Lamonica for Art Powell and Tom Flores.....hey, this is fun!
  14. Bills draft Jake Matthews at #9. Bonus Guarantee: Kiper gives Bills draft B-
  15. The only thing crazier than two 1st round picks for Romo would be....I dunno...a 1st round pick for......Rob Johnson? wait.......
  16. Only in Madden will Stevie be part of a package to move up from #9.
  17. Jets only team coming off bye. Packers come in off a Monday.
  18. I like it - but it needs to be two minutes max.
  19. This week it's Elbow. The new album is excellent. Another recent obsession has been Hem. Otherwise, going by the bands whose entire catalogs I own, would be Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Joe Jackson, 10,000 Maniacs and Natalie Merchant, Steely Dan, David Byrne, and The Clarks.
  20. Tell me about it! Bitches be ALL OVER me at the club.....
  21. Given the gases released, I think these should more accurately be called "Sun farts"
  22. If only Russ Brandon would get caught leaving Tempo with a carload of blow and hookers, we'd get some damn press.....
  23. Not sure if this has been pointed out, but Ralph is cheap.
  24. He looks very, very sad.......
