color me surprised to hear Botteril say the player will be in Buffalo next year. These guys I thought would make everyone do at least a few months in Rochester. But damn it was fun to be in a bar in Buffalo when this came down...like we actually won something!!!! And on a day where it looked like another Boston championship is inevitable, i needed it!!!

DC ones are a B word, but as a part-time resident I am torn ..we need the revenue, most of the revenue comes from "out of state" people who use all of our services, but pay nothing for them.DC has to operate like a state, but is in fact only a city..things like a DMV and prison system put a real strain on such a small entity. And DC is barred by Congress from ever invoking a commuter tax. that's interesting..close to $40M dead and still with some sizable room. But if we keep all our picks, some of that gets eaten into a bit I am guessing. I like what Beane is doing, think it will take another year or two to truly come to fruition, but I believe he is setting this team up for long term success with modern views on the economics of the draft and what positions to draft vs pay in FA.

so looks like 6 goals or more have been scored in 17 of 53 game 7's since 2006. Not sure if that is relevant or not, I am not sure to look up how many hit the over at say 5..but just some food for thought

I just do not bet hockey, but dang..Bovada has 71 bets you can make on this game! they have the over 5 1/2..seems high for a game 7, but that is just based on gut feeling. Wonder what the research shows on totals in game 7's.

First time since football season bring the second TV down . Leafs and Raptors at the same time, that sucks for Toronto fans. Plus we have the Cav-Pacers on at the same time...hmm, might have to become my own sports bar and get a 3rd tv going tonight

Also as a heads up, Brockmire is back tonight! it is on IFC, doe DTV that is channel 333. They are replaying the 8 episodes of season 1 starting at 11:45 today. Fantastic show, highly recommend it.

Just watched a great documentary on Showtime.."New Wave..Dare to Different" about WLIR and the New Wave/Punk/Alternative music in the early 80's and the effect this station had on music in the US. Thought it was very good, and for people of my age(55) will bring back a ton of memories. I don't remember a Buffalo station playing these songs..maybe someone here can help me out. I distinctly remember seeing the Police at Uncle Sams or Stage One in high school, so before 1981, so some station must have been playing this music.
