DC ones are a B word, but as a part-time resident I am torn ..we need the revenue, most of the revenue comes from "out of state" people who use all of our services, but pay nothing for them.DC has to operate like a state, but is in fact only a city..things like a DMV and prison system put a real strain on such a small entity. And DC is barred by Congress from ever invoking a commuter tax. that's interesting..close to $40M dead and still with some sizable room. But if we keep all our picks, some of that gets eaten into a bit I am guessing. I just do not bet hockey, but dang..Bovada has 71 bets you can make on this game! they have the over 5 1/2..seems high for a game 7, but that is just based on gut feeling. Wonder what the research shows on totals in game 7's.

First time since football season bring the second TV down . Leafs and Raptors at the same time, that sucks for Toronto fans. Plus we have the Cav-Pacers on at the same time...hmm, might have to become my own sports bar and get a 3rd tv going tonight

Just watched a great documentary on Showtime.."New Wave..Dare to Different" about WLIR and the New Wave/Punk/Alternative music in the early 80's and the effect this station had on music in the US. Thought it was very good, and for people of my age(55) will bring back a ton of memories. I don't remember a Buffalo station playing these songs..maybe someone here can help me out. I distinctly remember seeing the Police at Uncle Sams or Stage One in high school, so before 1981, so some station must have been playing this music.

It is hard to see what has happened to the Falls..Dads family goes back to the late 1800's there, Mom's family early 20th century. Dad and Mom lived there their entire life until we moved due to Love Canal. Dad owned a car dealership, my Mom was very active in the arts and civil projects..President of the Niagara Council of the Arts for a decade or so. I know it seems hard to believe now, but late 70's early 80's the Falls nightlife was great. 18 to drink in US, Canada was 19, Candian was 30% or so discount to US, but taken at par in the bars. We would switch our money all the time before going out. Candian girls were fun!!! Hard to see what it has become, but seems to me some small, and I mean very small, signs of times getting better. to the OP, I think both sides for pictures own their own attractiveness.Canada more panoramic and grand, American side more intimate.

I cant either. I was in town for a wedding on the Saturday of Game 4 so went to game 3, which was also an awesome game. Will never forget the wedding..was at the GI Holiday Inn when that joint was still nice. Girl from Niagara Falls, hubby from Boston. So pretty much a 50/50 split of guests. All the young guys were in the bar watching the game instead of being in the ballroom dancing and partying, and then even the older guys starting coming in..so somehow she got them to set up a TV in the ballroom for period 3 and overtime. Nothing sweeter than watching than watching that game with a bunch of Boston fans!!!!

I am going to take some liberty here and nominate a cast instead of a character..and that's the cast from Community. I loved that show, felt it never really got it's just due as a great great show. And man, looking on that cast now...John Oliver, Ken Jeung, Donald Glover, McHale, AlisonBrie, Chevy Chase, Jim Rash, Gillian Jacobs...And Dan Harmon is just out there.
