Just wondering how things are going for you, up in the great Pacific Northwest. I saw that Portland reached 116 today. Yikes! If it helps cool you down, please know that the South Island (where I live) is experiencing an Antarctic cold front that's moving up from the south. The surrounding mountains are all covered in fresh now, and I'm sitting in front of my fireplace, trying to stay warm, with a snoring dog at my feet. Winter has truly arrived in New Zealand.

That's sounds horrible. Waaaaay too hot for this guy. I had the great pleasure of living in your neck of the woods in the early 2000's and can understand how unusual this is. Your summer has only begun, too! Stay cool, brother.

Hey, I just recently went backpacking in the area where they filmed some of the exterior Fangorn scenes. Stunning alpine scenery. I'm already making plans for next years trip.

I've been using NFL GamePass down there in New Zealand for years now. Overall it's great, but I have had a few issues with it over the years. After being all pumped up to watch last years AFC Championship game, I logged on to watch it in the evening (after the game was already played in the US) and was greeting by the final score on the front page. This after I had already changed the setting to show no scores. I still haven't watched the game. That said, I remember when I originally moved away from NY in 1990. For years I subscribed to "Shout!" magazine while living in Colorado. It was my only source of Bills news. How times have changed.

Thanks for sharing that. I really don't listen to much sports stuff from the US, apart from Bills related things. Mostly here on TBD. That said, I've really enjoyed listening to all of the Chris Simms/Josh Allen podcasts that posters have shared here over the last few years. I agree with just about all of his observations and opinions on Josh and eat up every word he says, when he gushes over what a stud Josh is. It is beautiful music to my ears. Let's go Buffalo!

Speaking of maps... I ran across this article earlier this morning. Although it is from a Kiwi perspective, it offers a lot of interesting information on how global maps are/were drawn. There's also some stuff on how often New Zealand is left off of world maps, which is always amusing. I'm with ya. We (New Zealand) had a chance to change our flag a few years ago, but wound up leaving it as is. I have a feeling that when the Queen passes away, we'll make a push to leave the Commonwealth, and when that happens we'll come up with a new flag. I personally think it needs to be a black flag with a silver fern on it. That's really how the rest of the world already identifies us. (Or maybe a black flag with the Eye-of-Sauron on it!) As far as the Bills unis go... I 100% love our current uniforms but would also love to see the 90's uniforms being brought back once a year. Do that instead of those stupid Color Rush ones. Let's go Buffalo!
