  1. the thick skull is yours. it's not about vick-like running. it's about the ability to create a moving pocket. Tom Brady is a mobile quarterback. In fact, he's one of the best. He can get you the tough 6 yards with his feet if no one's open on 3rd down. But more importantly, he knows how to shuffle and slide and create space for himself. bledsoe is the worst QB in the NFL at this. He's just okay at stepping up, if he has a pocket. He's pretty bad at shuffling left and right, and he's downright pathetic at rolling right or left. These things prevent defenses from simply pinning their ears back and rushing to a spot 5 yards behind the line. This is what contributes to making the Bills OLine look so bad. With a mobile QB, our OLinemen look MUCH, MUCH better, immediately. you might retort with the fatuous question, "if that's true, why did Rojo get sacked so much?" The answer is simple. RoJo had quick feet, but he had TERRIBLE INSTINCTS and ZERO pocket awareness. He was also made of fuggin glass. You absolutely HAVE to have a mobile QB in this league if you expect to win. It's the misunderstanding of the terms involved that creates debate. properly defined, there IS NO DEBATE.
  2. pete, i have to say...the tone of this post is disappointing. i'd expect more from a guy who honors one of the best songs ever written in his sig line. it's good to see annie duke embarrass you from miles away, without her knowing. think you could take her head up?
  3. throw a rock in the air, you'll hit someone guilty. 1 was a misssed assignment by travis. another was a missed assignment by shelton. jonas was beat once. big mike was beat once. villarial was beat once, and either teague or smith was beat on another. that's six, anyway.
  4. JP will be back sometime in late October.
  5. gilbride still sucks. he never adjusted the offense, and over a period of 24 games, he failed to recognize that the offense had been exposed. i'd still deck him.
  6. they make plays just when you think the play is negative. drew can't do that. in order to succeed in the NFL, your QB MUST be able to do that. Drew can't. Therefore...
  7. no way in hell. dwight freeney, john henderson, or roy williams. hell, even ed reed or albert haynesworth. Mike Williams is a 2nd round guard. He doesn't have the feet to be a great RT, and you need your #4 overall picks to be GREAT, or you've failed in the selection. Mike's a good kid. He'll never be GREAT.
  8. FMike - I have awakened from the nightmarish spell. I will no longer ask you to stop trying to make Bills fans see the light. I recognize that you're trying to help us. Use data, your own anecdotes of pain, keep it away from personal attacks at bledsoe, and the masses will awake.
  9. i was pissed that we didn't get an UR penalty. It was clearly a cheap shot. The Refs helped the Raiders all day. But I was more pissed to see Drew laughing on the sidelines a few minutes later, as if it's okay that he hadn't done a damn thing all day. I was even more pissed that they sent him back out there with a mild concussion to try to win the game. Drew couldn't have done it without the concussion, so what the fug were they thinking? My disappointment extends to Mularkey. He's saying all the same damn things that we heard from Gregggg. I can't stand it, and nobody should have to listen to it.
  10. wanna put a little paypal on it?
  11. and you think that's enough? you think that's enough of a team with this much talent? It won't be long before ICE pulls out the Red Ass and recants the blind positivity that he's posted. It's inevitable. And it's just a matter of time. two weeks perhaps.
  12. We lost that game for many reasons. Some chump calls by the refs, a few penalties, and a couple dropped balls that were poorly thrown to begin with. But the #1 reason we lost is B.L.E.D.S.O.E. Watch the game again. Listen to the people who were there and could watch what was happening in the secondary. He doesn't see his open receivers. He reads the field too slowly. He needs too much of his OLine. Half of his throws are either too low or too high. 90% of any bench quarterbacks in this league could have won that game the way our defense and ST played. You can keep denying it, but you'll just find more pain down the road. The Best thing for this team, right now, is to bench Bledsoe and show this team what can happen when you have a QB who has the ability to find his receivers, anticipate their late breaks, have the balls to pull the trigger, and get the ball where it needs to be on the player's body. Drew can do none of that. Bledsoe was indeed a Trojan horse pulled off brilliantly by BB. He's the best analyst in the game. He saw something that he bet others wouldn't see. He saw something in Bledsoe that can't be coached away. If anyone could make him better, it's Sam Wyche. Bledsoe isn't going to get better. I've wanted him to do well ever since he came here. He has always been a stand-up guy and I'd still love to see him succeed. But the sad fact is, HE NEVER WILL. He will leave this game a shadow of his former self, which is what he is right now. He was never a consistent QB, and he never will be. He was never able to scramble, and he never will be. The Bills were duped. There is no doubt, and after all the defense I've put up against this truth, I won't be convinced otherwise. I thougth it was last years' coaches. They were only half the problem. Mularkey has set Bledsoe up to succeed and he's still failing this team. Take the blinders off.
  13. do you think this team can beat the patriots in two weeks? if so, i'll take any bet. bledsoe can't get it done. i supported him long enough. if you can't see the data, you're not looking for it. It's there. He has no touch on short throws, he can't make plays out of nothing, he holds the ball too low, he still telegraphs where the ball is going, and throws too high and too low constantly, and he looks scared in the pocket. i'll take any bet.
  14. maybe we '69ers should get together over some beerce and lament the Bledsoe era.
  15. Nikki. Great cards.
  16. Hey, thanks guys. I was hoping the Bills would have been as considerate. But frankly my dear, Bledsoe doesn't give a gift. (old movie reference...couldn't resist) i wrote a little thingy about turning 35...I'm wondering...am I alone in my sense of time warp bewilderment?
  17. you're in denial. we will not make the playoffs, and i'll take any bet. we'd all be much better off if we...slowly...step away....
  18. thanx in adv
  19. before technical difficulties ended the post game interviews. I heard MM say all the things Gregg used to say, and I felt like I was in the twilight zone. This wasn't suppposed to happen. The Bills were going to be different with these new coaches, improved line play, the defense in its second year together as a unit, lee evans stretching the field, bledsoe understanding timing again, and better playcalling. Instead we have the same exact team as last year. The same team we attributed to Kevin Gilbride, a lack of downfield speed, a porous line, and an unconfident QB. After the game, all i heard was MM say that the problems are correctable. Has Donahoe mesmerized every coach he hires? WE CAN'T WIN THE TOUGH GAMES WITH DREW! He just does not have the magic to make something out of nothing, and that's what it takes. I too have been in a small degree of denial. I like new starts, new coaches. But there is no such alchemy that will turn wood to gold. I'm sad today because I know this team is going to finish 8-8 and miss the playoffs yet again. And I'm sad because we're going to lose more games because of Drew's inability to see the field, anticipate late releases by his QB, use his hot reads, and basically play the game. Drew is too slow from center, too slow in the pocket, and even his delivery looks strange. If you think we can beat the Patriots, you're dreaming. If you think *this team* can still make the playoffs after an 0-2 AFC start, you're dreaming. When you wake up, let's send a message to TD and MM that they too are oversleeping. I want to see what this team does with Shane Matthews at the helm.
  20. we're 0-2 in the AFC. We've probably already played our way out of wildcard tie breakers. i'm more disappointed thru two games than i was through 16 games last year.
  21. Badol was dead on. this team comes up small. that being said, i don't like everything the offensive coaches are showing, either. i was eerily calm when i saw bledsoe go down. i thought, hey. matthews can run this offense more effectively anyway. then i saw him laughing on the sidelines and i wanted to punch him out. i've had enough. i can barely watch the buffalo bills, and that's so sad.
  22. I know it pains you to admit it as much as it pains me. I'm ready to have a beer with foxboro mike and let him tell me all the times bledsoe broke his heart. the guy just has no magic. the bills are so boring to watch because you know we're going to be inefficient, and we're going to take sacks at the worst possible time. it's not mcnally, folks. i'm not impressed by the playcalling or game planning so far, in fact i'm pissed off, but it's not mularkey and clements either. i don't think our players have any heart. and our most important player has no ability left to compete in this league. there's no way around it. watch the tape. watch how low he holds the ball, even in junk. he's certainly not being coached to do that. Nobody on this Earth can fix him, I'm now convinced. 5 of those sacks are on him. One was on Travis, one was on Shelton. The other five were Bledsoes. the bills are in deep schitt. if this keeps up, and it most likely will, people are going to stop buying the product. Then what?
  23. Our offense is nothing short of pathetic, and the performance of Drew in particular suggests that maybe a lot of our ire was indeed misdirected last year. I have wanted Bledsoe to succeed because he's a high character guy. But I can't support him anymore. Is there anyone out there who thinks we're better off with him over Shane Matthews? No Fuggin Way. The guy just doesn't see the field. He doesn't see the guy that JUST broke free. He can't anticipate it. He can't look left if he's already looked right. He misses his hot reads. He throws too high, he skips it off the ground. Enough is enough. This is the exact same team we saw last year. I'm disappointed that Mularkey and CO. didn't see this coming. They should have. If Drew starts vs. the Pats, we'll know that the whole fuggin coaching staff is in denial. You need to have a guy who can make something out of nothing. In this league, a QB is given nothing so often, the only way you can go far in this league is to have a QB that can pull out some magic when it's needed. When was the last time you saw Drew pull out magic? Do you have any confidence that he CAN? I honestly think this team has a better chance of winning games with Shane Fuggin Matthews. By the way, didn't TBD have a server upgrade? Seems like it goes down every Sunday like clockwork. It's a pretty fitting reflection of the team.
