Marshawn Lynch matching Thomas' career
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, he was very good at catching the ball down the field in college. This are progressing very nicely with Marshawn! That's something to be happy about. -
Marshawn Lynch matching Thomas' career

Thanks, I feel good about your support. I felt the need to point out what's quietly going on, and they just want to look a multidimensional gifted horse of a RB in the mouth and shrug it off with contrary replies. To each his own I guess. Marshawn getting to 60 receptions is a big deal! -
Marshawn Lynch matching Thomas' career

My point was that Lynch is becoming a multidimensional threat like Thurman became a multidimensional threat for the Bills. If you aren't seeing the similarities in this respect then we obviously see things differently. Number of receptions becomes a very big stat for a RB when you get into the 60 reception range. -
Marshawn Lynch matching Thomas' career
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I meant that compared to Lynch he was was an agile and elusive back. I fully agree that Thomas was no where near Barry Sanders in the elusive department. Thomas was one that never got hit badly, had great cuts and balance as you mentioned. That was what I meant by elusive. -
Did you know... In Marshawn and Thurman's rookie years they both had 18 receptions (I was angry that Lynch wasn't used more in the passing game last year), with Marshawn gaining 1,115 and Thurman gaining 881 in rushing yards. Thurman followed that up with 60 receptions for 669 yards in his second season, with 1244 in rushing. Marshawn currently has 42 for 289, with 710 in rushing with five games left. I'm not saying that they are the same backs, their styles clearly are different. I'm just saying that Marshawn has quietly become a multidimensional weapon just like Thurman became for us. Marshawn is a VERY physical runner where as Thurman was an agile and elusive runner. I'm just very glad to see them using Lynch in a multitude of ways.

You know when I think the bad Dick Jauron season killing karma hit the Bills? In that Miami game, the Bills won the coin toss and what does Dick Jauron do? He defers. A team that is 5-1 and is considered a top five team in the league defers to the second half. Hearing that set a shudder down my spine. So what happens? The Miami Dolphins march down the field and the score is 7-0 and the Bills no longer look like a top five team in the league and whatever nerves the Dolphins had in playing the Bills were completely gone. The Bills, being a 5-1 team, should have taken the ball and tried like heck to make the score 7-0. Keep the swagger, keep the Dolphins guessing whether they could beat us. Keep the crowd out of the game. Now I know the Bills were in front of the Dolphins in that game, but that's not my point. That one decision told his offensive players that he didn't trust them. He trusted his defense more than the offense. He's head of a 5-1 team and he's worried his offense can't score on the Dolphins on that first possession. The Dolphins said thank you very much and proceeded to be the first team to knock the Bills off the AFC East mountain top. I know that one stupid decision isn't the reason we lost 4 in a row, it's just that I do believe that one bad karma decision adjusted the trajectory just enough to throw the whole Bills season out of whack. If the Bills take the ball and score seven on that first drive the Dolphins lose to us. That's what I'll always think about in regards to that game.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
1billsfan replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yet in the back of our minds we all are wondering what's going to happen to our team when they face the division again. It's a relief that they they gave such a good showing of themselves today, especially in regards to Trent. The Bills were a pleasure to watch, what a shocking thing to say. At least we all can still take some comfort in them having that flicker of a playoff dream remain alive. -
Do we like Trent, Jauron and Turk this week?
1billsfan replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trent was a TOUGH football player today. THAT was something I was waiting to see from him (well that, plus not being a turnover machine). Job well done, let's see him keep it going. Let's see him play well in bad weather. Jauron still SUCKS until his team can beat a winning team when it counts. Beating the Chiefs does NOT erase these last four weeks. Bills fans can breath MUCH easier tonight. We're all glad that the Buffalo Bills still have a pulse. Thank goodness! -
Has anyone considered it might be the OC?
1billsfan replied to NavarreFL_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trent was clearly peeing in his pants on Monday night. Evans was open on a few occasions and Trent had plenty of time to find him. He never tried to get the ball to him. Trent has earned the bulk of blame for why the offense has collapsed. -
Jim Kelly's face on Monday night after that kick
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Leadership will come once a team establishes an identity on offense and can impose it's will on it's opponent. I think that Jim could be the one to establish that imposing Bills offense, if that was something he really actually wanted to pursue. I also think he could teach Edwards a thing or two about how to be tough. Something that is clearly an issue with Trent. -
Jim Kelly's face on Monday night after that kick
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know why, but I get the feeling he wants to be a bigger part of the Buffalo Bills. Maybe it's just seeing him on the sideline showing so much passion for his team. If he does want the OC job and is ready to devote the time and energy then the Bills would be foolish to turn him down. Jauron needs to hit the road regardless of the changes to the offense. -
Didn't you know? Dick Jauron was out sick the day they went over the chapter on tendencies in NFL Head Coaching 101. Yale called and told him to quit saying that he graduated from there.

Are we seriously calling for Jaurons head
1billsfan replied to Pirate Angel's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You call Dick Jauron is a decent head coach and then have the nerve to call someone else delusional???? Please put the crack pipe down and come back to the world of reality. -

1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the idea of Jim as the OC! If they wanted to go that route I'd be for someone like Marriuchi for the replacement head coach. Does he even have that coaching bug though? Think about how much knowledge was standing on the sideline in Kelly, while the Bills set the NFL passing game back 50 years in time. -
...erie. It so captured every Buffalo Bills fans emotion at that very moment. It was disbelief, anger, shock, disgust, disappointment and frustration all in one expression. I wondered if he secretly wanted to wring Dick Jauron's scrawny neck for him and every member of that first Bills Superbowl team who would have given an arm AND a leg for those extra 44 seconds to get within closer range for Norwood.

It wouldn't be permanent unless the Bills went on a winning streak with JP, and even then it would only be until their first loss with Losman. We are all rooting for Edwards today to turn it around quickly and finish this season strong. However, there is the prospect that Edwards continues to look horrible and only gets worse as the weather conditions get worse. If this is the case then all bets are off as to who the Bills QB is next year. Edwards would go into the season as the starter, but that is not going to make Bills fans all warm and fuzzy if indeed he does continue the downward spiral. We need to see something positive from Trent these last games coming down the stretch. He needs to stop with the twinkle toes in the pocket, find Evans and start scoring touchdowns again. Bills fans want a QB that is not scared in the pocket, is not scared about the cold weather, is not scared to throw the ball downfield. Time for Trent Edwards to either toughen up or get replaced by someone who is tough enough to play here.

That quote by Jauron should make every Bills fan very angry. This guy is at the helm of the biggest disaster nose dive in the history of this team and all he can come up with is to take sunny dispositions about what this team was able to do early on in the year. I mean WTF???? Could you IMAGINE Bill Parcells saying something like that after his division kicks his ass three times in a row and then a lowly Browns team comes to his house on Monday night and beats his team with a QB in his second start while having a damn broken finger?

How Long do we Give Trent a Free Pass?
1billsfan replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Johnny Jackass, guess what your boy has singlehandedly done to our once stellar season in the last four games? Cleveland - 3 interceptions New England - 2 interceptions New York - 2 interceptions, 1 fumble Miami - 1 interception, 1 fumble You sir, are the moron if you don't see the need for Trent to be benched if he starts peeing badly in his pants in KC just like he did on Monday night. -
How Long do we Give Trent a Free Pass?
1billsfan replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's say you were a starter on the Bills defense and have held the Chiefs to a touchdown in the first half but the score is 17-0 because Edwards threw two interceptions, one for a picks-six and one that resulted in a field goal for the Chiefs. If the Bills lose this game they are officially history for this season. Be honest now, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KEEP EDWARDS IN or see if Losman can come in to save the game and the Bills season? This living and dying stuff is for the birds, next season is a looooong way away. You do everything you can to win that game in KC, Edwards feelings be damned. -
How Long do we Give Trent a Free Pass?
1billsfan replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said this before and I'll say it again. To answer this question just ask yourself what a great head coach like Bill Cowher or Jeff Fisher would do. I'd have to think that Edwards would have been pulled sometime during that Browns game if they were the head coaches. The season was on the line and the starting QB was seriously regressing. It would not mean that he is no longer the future of the team, just that his development is not above the 2008 Bills' team goal of winning and trying to make the playoffs. These two coaches would not have just left his entire team high and dry like Jauron has. I'm sure the locker room is very much divided on the subject right about now. I'm sure a good majority are not yet in the "wait till next year" mode. Would you be if you were busting your butt???? These fans here who want Edwards to play no matter what are crazy if you'd think you'd feel the same way if you were one of the players that still believed you could get the wild card if you went on a winning streak. I say let him start the KC game and pull him quickly if he throws an interception and clearly looks like he's shaky. This isn't about JP Losman, it's about doing something, anything to save the season. Once the Bills are out for the count then Edwards could be put back in, this is of course if he's been pulled in the KC game. -
When it's obvious Trent is struggling during the game..
1billsfan replied to K-No's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since Trent was clearly peeing his pants on Monday night, I think it's in the best interest of everyone involved...Trent, Dick, the Bills players who aren't scared, that he gets benched if he shows those tendencies early on in the KC game. If JP comes in and they lose anyways then the season is officially over and Trent can resume his starting position against the 49ers. It wasn't any fun watching our QB of 19 starts having a meltdown in front of a national audience while the opposing QB in only his second start and playing with a broken finger beat our team on the road. -
I give you the 2009 Buffalo Bills head coach...
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem was the Bills hired guys who had really big heads just like the GM that hired them, Tom Donahoe. They needed to hire football coaches, not primadonnas. The Bills should look for coaches like the ones that the Redskins, Dolphins, Falcons, Ravens, Cardinals, Steelers and Jets hired and are having great successes with. Guys who don't care about the limelight, just winning football games. A proven winner is NOT coming to Buffalo, ever. Fans here need to realize and accept this. The Bills WILL have to find a hidden gem and Morris looks like someone who could be a great fit for this young team. -

Answer us this, exactly WHO is that proven winner that's coming to Buffalo for peanuts???? To your point...the Redskins, Dolphins, Falcons, Ravens, Cardinals, Steelers and Jets called to tell you that you don't have to hire a proven coach to win. You only need to hire a good coach. -

Do we really want a guy who's already the subject of a "fire so and so" .com page? http://www.fireschwartz.com/ There's a lot to read there, but the gist is that Schwart's defenses sucked and were ranked very low without Haynesworth and that he had a tendency to play a non-attacking non-aggressive style. Do we really want the bad mojo of picking another Titans DC as our next head coach? Finally, he's been there for eight years and has yet to get a sniff for a head coaching job, what does that tell you? I'm thinking we take a pass on that guy. Ronde Barber has been around the best coaches this NFL has had to offer and his glowing endorsement is all that you need to know that Morris is going to be a good one. -

It's a pipe dream. You know it and I know it. Ralph is NOT going to pay for established and previously successful NFL coaching talent. That's why he was happy with the cheap retread we have now. The Bills are going to have to hire a hidden gem like this guy. I love what I read and hope that the Bills dump Jauron and give Morris an interview this offseason.
