...hopefully now we can move on with a new regime in 2009. Why in the world would you as the Bills head coach defer to the second half yesterday? 1. Your Bills offensive scored an explosive 47 points away from home last week. 2. Your offense is all warmed up, ready to go, but you decide it's best to let them stand there in the cold for 20 minutes before they take the field. 3. You were burned by your defense after deferring in the Miami game when you were 5-1 and gave the underdog the ball and a quick 7 point lead. So what happens yesterday? The Bills win the toss, our jackass of a coach defers to the second half, the 49ers all warmed up quickly score a touchdown on our suspect defense and the Bills offense looks like the are cold and stiff from standing on the sidelines with nothing to do. Jauron's season long affair with this new NFL rule has almost single handedly sunk his once solid job as the Bills head coach. I am so angry at this guy for deferring yesterday, his firing can not come soon enough for me. The Bills are going to be 6-10 and there is no way he keeps his job after that. Thanks for being so stupid and letting us all move on in 2009 with a new Buffalo Bills head coach.

Jauron's extension means nothing - Bills can fire him
1billsfan replied to Casmolopitis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills end up 6-10 he will have little choice in the matter if money is the most important factor. Ralph knows that ticket sales trumps cheap head coaching contracts every single time. He will lose money if he keeps a head coach that took a 5-1 team to a 6-10 record. Fans simply will not fill the seats with a Jauron led team in 2009. -

My one happy thought about this game...

Well they certainly weren't here, and if they were they kept very silent on the matter. There was maybe three or four posters here that wanted Jauron gone last year after that three game collapse to end the year. The rest of the board had no problems hurling the insults at myself and the few others who suggested he would never be a good coach and that the Bills should fire him. Well looks as if those smart asses have finally come around to smell the damn coffee one full year down the stinking road. BTW, Tomlin's team is kicking the Pats ass in their home. If you don't think he's a good coach then I can't help you. Just because you haven't heard of Morris doesn't mean he isn't the coach the Bills have been waiting for. Just look at what the "nobodies" in Miami, Atlanta and Baltimore have done with the weak teams they were given. No retreads, no premodonnas...do your homework and hire a real football coach like Raheem Morris. -

Wow, no one wants to give me credit for being right about Dick Jauron? -
After losing three straight games to our division, then losing to the crappy Browns I knew I was indeed correct that Dick Jauron would NEVER EVER be a good NFL head coach. I was screaming about this loser head coach since mid last season (however those threads are gone forever). Losing a game like this, to the crappy 49ers at home in the cold and nasty Buffalo weather was the only way this team could actually contemplate and feel justified in firing Dick Jauron. I know it's a backwards thought, but that's a GREAT thing for Bills fans! He was never going to become a good head coach. Just look at how tough our division has become people! Having him here in 2009 would have just been preventing this team from truly moving in a positive direction. Throwing another year down the toilet. So them losing to the 49ers today is in fact a very positive event for Bills fans everywhere. I don't think they are going to win another game the rest of the season and Ralph will do the right thing and show this awful head coach the door. You're a nice guy Dick, but you are not head coaching material. Good luck with your next job as a DC. So with that said, this is my hire Raheem Morris for head coach thread... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=77315&hl= Let's all get on the bandwagon and bring the next Mike Tomlin to Buffalo!

Guess I was dead on about Dick's inability to be a good NFL head coach. Unfortunately it's a sad and empty feeling.

Starting with Dick's moronic deferral decision to open the game. Please fire this loser Ralph. -

Only a jackass would defer after last weeks 54 point game. Dick is a jackass. -

Jauron the Jackass head coach defers to the second half and the 49ers score 7 on first possession. Jauron the Jackass head coach allows the 2nd and 3rd and goal play calls at the two to be pass plays, the kick is no good. The football gods are making Jauron their B word today! -
If they end up winning 4 of their last 5 games then even I couldn't get on Jauron's case anymore and would definitely call this season a success. Doing that would be a big deal for this team at this point. I think that's a very big longshot at happening though.

You assume that the Jet fans will also have negative comments for Jauron. I bet you they hope he never leaves the Bills. Truth be told, I won't say anything regardless if they win or lose. It's stupid to think that they'd care what you say anyways. I usually go to the Jets game in NJ every year but I missed it last year. The last time I went there the Bills beat a playoff bound Jets team silly with Losman and McGahee as our starters. I can't see any reason why our team couldn't do it again.
-
NY? The Bills are the only NFL team residing in New York. I'm going and my seats are close enough to be within earshot of Dick Jauron. I sure hope he doesn't give me any reason to mention how bad I think he sucks as an NFL head coach. My only hope is that the Bills win these next two games and still have a real shot of going to the playoffs.

Hey Buffalo, do whatever it takes to get Peppers
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, it's called upgrading a position on your team. Cardboard cutouts could replace both Kelsay and Denny. Eillis and Bryan could NOT be any worse than those two. Please tell me that you think Kelsay and Denny are that much better! They could also draft another DE in the first round after getting Peppers making the team's pass rushing defense as fierce as the NY Giants. That would in fact be a very brilliant thing to do. -

1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Schobel's rarely had big games against the good teams. Yes he's had some success with regards to sacking Brady, but other than that I see little output against the better teams of the league. More often than not, he looks too slow and weak to proved the impact we're looking for. I think the Bills would be better served at getting his somewhat large contract off the books, use that money to help get Peppers and use the extra 2nd or 3rd round draft pick on a center, defensive end, defensive tackle or a linebacker. -
So far this season the total number of sacks we've got from the defensive end position is 5. 5 sacks TOTAL from Schobel (1), Kelsay (1), Denny (2) and Bryan (1). That's a simply pathetic output. I think the Bills should trade Schobel, cut Kelsay and Denny. Then pool all of that extra money to go out and try to get Julius Peppers. 5 sacks from the defensive end position is never going to get the job done if you have any notions of being a contending team. Is this not the one player that fits our team like a glove? You can't take it with you Ralph.

That Dolphin game is the one that's the hardest to figure out. -
12. The Bills will beat up on the 49ers just like they did on the Chiefs. 13. The Bills will win in a squeaker over the Dolphins. 14. The Bills will be totally out-physicaled (sp?), out-coached, out-QB'd and lose by double digits to the Jets. The Bills have no one that can put pressure on Favre which is a very bad thing. They will have major troubles with guys like Washington and Keller. I see a 34-20 type loss. If the Bills win this one it will be the shocker of all shockers to me. I will be at this game so I'm hoping beyond hope that the Bills (and Jauron) shock the hell out of me that day. 15. The Bills lose in a squeaker to the Broncos. This is about how coaching wins you games and lose you games. I will take Mike Shannahan over Dick Jauron any day of the week and Sunday of course. Less than a field goal, it will be another classic Jauron "these guys played hard" somber interview after the game. 16. The Bills lose in ugly fashion against the Patriots. Bill Belichick will NEVER let himself get beat by a coach as bad as Jauron. The Patriots beat the Bills by a couple of touchdowns in the finally. That's my honest opinion, I see an 8-8 record and my worst nightmare will be that Jauron stays on as the head coach. I think Jauron is a nice guy but he's not even an average head coach. The Bills seriously need to consider how good their division is going forward and realize they'll need a head coach who will be a game changer to compete and get these guys to the next level. It will have to be an unknown because we know that Ralph isn't going to pony up to get Cowher. I will be hoping for a guy like Raheem Morris... http://www.buccaneers.com/team/staffdetail.aspx?coachid=86 ...who is widely considered the next Mike Tomlin around the league. He's someone who has a lot of passion for the game and is not a primadonna like the Greg Williams and Mike Malarky first timers. There's a good chance we could land this guy if the Bills had the guts to fire Jauron after another non-winning season.

I said that it was a decision which was one that the Bills did not recover from since yesterday's game. It was a bad decision from a tactical and a psychological standpoint. They were 5-1 at the time. The day was nice and sunny. Jauron's decision sent a message to his players that they were not going to attack the Dolphins and try to squash them early, but they were instead going to be in a dog fight the whole way through. It was a dumb decision. Know one knows what the Bills would have done on that first possession, but at least he'd have sent a message that we are going to try and take our divisional rivals out early. If they did not so be it, but at least he would have shown himself to be on the right and logical thinking side of coaching. Players respect that their coach trusts them to fire out with a 7-0 lead. Instead the Dolphins got the 7 points and the Bills never looked like that confident 5-1 team the rest of the way. Regardless of even when the were leading. There was just a bad vibe about that entire game. Just like the bad vibe was sent when he decided that a 47 yard field goal was close enough with over a minute to go, when he slammed Marshawn up the gut and against a wall for 3 straight plays. As an NFL head coach he makes jackass decisions, which is the reason why his team always gets beat by any and every good team that comes along. Did you know that by deferring you're giving the opposing team's defensive coordinator a whole first halves worth of film to study from? One of the advantages of getting the ball first is that you can surprise that team with specific plays gameplanned for maximum impact. They don't know what you're going to do. What, are you going to wait until the second half to break out your surprise plays and packages? That's dumb, the decision to defer in Miami was dumb, Dick Jauron is a dumb head coach.
-
Yes I do, but that time and place was a very bad decision to defer in. The reasons I defer is... Bad weather conditions Night game on the road My team has a horrible offense The opposing team has a horrible offense I have a dominating defense The other team has a dominating defense ...there are probably a few others, but when the Bills come rolling into town at 5-1 on a nice sunny day and hand over the first possession to the Dolphins. I seriously think that since that one decision things never got truly right with the Bills until yesterday's game. It didn't cost them the game or the season, it just sent the negativity ball in motion.
-
I never said it killed them. You have serious reading comprehension problems.
-
I can only go by his head scratching decisions like being a 5-1 team and deferring on that nice and sunny game down in Miami. I do not know what's going on in Dick's head nor do I want or wish to ever want to know what's going on in Dick's brain. It's my IMPRESSION that he does not read people very well, doesn't understand human psychology and it's one of the many factors he sucks as a head coach.
-
I've always been a believer that a big part of football is the mental aspect. It's a big reason as to why the greatest head coaches in NFL history got to the top. Sometimes it's the littlest of things that can snow ball or have a domino effect. Do I believe deferring cost them the game? No, I didn't say that it did. Do I believe it sent the wrong message at the wrong time to a 5-1 team? Yes. You're a 5-1 team, it's a nice sunny day, you take the damn ball and shove it down your opponents throat. Jauron deferred, the Bills defense folded like a tent, the positive mental part of game was a ghost for the Bills for four straight games and until McKelvin's pick-six in KC. These are the nuances that Jauron doesn't and will never get. He doesn't understand human emotions. It's a big part of the game and the main reason he will never be a good NFL head coach. As for the joker that mentioned the Browns deferring and winning, you DO defer when you're coaching a QB on the road in his SECOND START OF HIS CAREER! You guys just don't get the fact that Jauron will always suck as a head football coach.

For the last time...DICK JAURON IS A WORTHLESS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH WHEN HE HAS TO FACE WINNING TEAMS!!!! Thank you for your time and have a nice day.
