Another tragedy hits Jeremy White
C.Biscuit97 replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, this is absolutely terrible. There is never a good time for this but especially now. There are situations when your faith is really tested and I imagine this has to be for him. I met him a few times and he seems like a genuinely good guy. Prayers to him and his family. -
Because it’s a pro bowl event? Say if Jeter had a bad average in the all star game or a guy sucked in the homer run derby? What in the world would that matter? Didn’t we have that trick shot qb? Trick shot qb >>> Jackson There was literally a 59 page thread about this on this board. There are still some posters earlier this year questioning how good he was.

my promise as a person who wasn’t sold on the Allen pick: if Allen wins the MVP, sets a franchise record with td passes, goes 14-2 with the best wins of any team in the nfl, loses in playoffs with 500 total yards, Yet struggles in a pro bowl event, I promise I will not say one negative thing about him all offseason. Because it is absolutely stupid. but to a bigger point. Why are so many people seeming to take pleasure in this? It seems people want him to fail. I have been a critic of Allen because of the prospect type he is (I had similar questions about Jackson). And while I’m far from sold on Allen, I saw some positive signs and want him to reach his potential. But it seems like people love watching young qbs fail. Maybe that’s just our society. But Lamar’s resume is better than like 85% of qb’s to ever play right now.

Great point. Tds inside the 10 yard don’t count. We need to update all players passing tds since some dude on a Bills board decided they don’t count. but yeah, the mvp of the league sucks because of this competition. I’m sold. Good thread. Of course we had like a 50 page thread laughing at Mahomes for throwing ints in a preseason practice before he went on to win the MVP so this shouldn’t be a surprise.

I mean the same thing is happening in the Lamar Jackson pro bowl thread. Fans are laughing at the MVP because of a pro bowl competition. and my main point of why I wasn’t a big fan of the Allen pick is because 1) a top 10 qb should dominate the MWC and I hate excuse why he didn’t 2) I didn’t trust the Bills to develop a qb. I think Daboll is the definition of settling for average at best but the team has done some nice things for him. They have invested in the oline and he has 2 nfl starting caliber wrs while he gets to play with a defense that rarely allows 20+ points i just pray we add a receiver and can know for sure one way or the other is he is the answer. I don’t want to be stuck in Tannehill land.

New Orleans Saints in Court
C.Biscuit97 replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yikes. As a proud Catholic myself, we need to separate this stuff. IMO, religion should be a private matter. Be proud of what you are but it should be an inward thing. Plus the most religious people I know are the biggest hypocrites on the planet. -
Agreed like on every issue in life. I would say that a guy winning a mvp after winning a Heisman seems to suggest that maybe he is good but it’s still early. as someone who has had doubts about Allen, If he was the MVP this year, I’d be Punching myself in the face for dismissing it because of a pro bowl challenge. But what do I know.

Yup. This is all a giant guessing game. He was a game manager carried by a really good defense who is capable of making big plays. So either he takes the next step like Brady, Big Ben, Or Wilson or he is Sanchez (Sanchez really sucked though), Bortles, or Mitchell. It’s anyone’s guess at this point. the supporters (and we all should be hoping he reaches this point) seem to always shift the blame to other players while the haters (people who aren’t as sold) are slow to give credit for the improvements he did make this year. I think while he certainly improved, there are some big areas that concern me.

How does TSW feel about Andy Reid?
C.Biscuit97 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just think the championship point is so overrated. Football is the ultimate team game. For instance, Rodgers completely blows Tom Brady’s postseason numbers away. Yet, he’s only won SB because he’s had some crappy defenses. Marv making 4 straight SBs is a ton more impressive than Billick riding an all time great defense to one. Same thing with Reid, who has had like 2 losing seasons in 21 years and is taking a second team to the SB. I think it would be insane not to put the coach with the 7th most wins of all time in but to each, their own. but along the lines, do you think Gore is a HOFer? -
Prospect Watch: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU
C.Biscuit97 replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Height is like the last thing I care about in a rb. In fact, a 3 foot rb probably would be pretty nasty. And this guy in a ball. I do like the idea of contrast to singletary but this team just needs more playmakers. This guy is that. -

With all due respect respect, I couldn’t disagree with you more. Marv definitely deserves the Hall and since I think Reid is a better coach, he does to. people put way too much stock on one game. -
