Completely agree. However there is the chance that other players play and pass them on draft boards. Burrow was at best a mid round pick at this time last year. And football guys definitely are the types to penalize you for not playing. Hot take. There are way better qbs in the ACC then SeC this year.

Oh for sure, I’m happy for underdogs making the nfl. It’s awesome. But some people completely overrate how much preseason games actually mean. Tuel had a scoring drive in a preseason game and people were debating if he was a potential franchise qb haha. but it does suck for those end of the roster guys. It’s going to be really hard for them to beat out established players.

I just find it odd what some people’s breaking point is. Mine would have been if the Bills signed Vick or drafted Joe Mixon. Also, it’s easy to quit watching when your team sucks too. ? apparently for others, it’s silent protesting (half of stadium goes to get beers or paid during the anthem) and helmet decals.

Yeah, I agree he’s physically natural but that doesn’t make you necessarily a natural at a position. There was a guy named Shawn Oakman who was an absolute monster at Baylor (there’s like a famous meme of him at the coin flip). But as a football player, he just wasn’t that good. there are a lot subtle things that goes into every position. When I was a receiver, I always liked the contested catches better than the wide open ones. I wonder in a pass friendly offense like Mississippi, why didn’t a clear nfl talent like Knox get more chances? I wonder if there were drops in practice or lack of confidence in him. but he does have all the tools and a good work ethic. If he puts it all together, he will be a beast.

Because he was a high school qb and didn’t get a lot of targets. He has only been playing position for a few years. He has all the physical tools and is a very good route runner (playing qb definitely helps him). I didn’t like the pick because of his lack of production but then he really surprised me in the beginning of the season. But then the drops and I don’t believe he is a natural hand catcher. Confidence can definitely play a part in drops but given he never really caught that ball that much, it is a concern. but talent wise, he’s about as good as any guy in the league. But if he doesn’t solve the drops, qbs will lose confidence in him. I explained the natural part above. But for sure. I guess Kittle had 10 tds in 2 years at Iowa but it blows my mind how good he has become. I also have to give credit to a daddy’s boy coach who is actually good. Shanahan gets the most out of his offensive players.

We need a hall of fame of below average players this board has loved - Mike Jasper, Jeff Tuel, Brandon Reilly, etc and I have zero problem with Duke competing for a spot. But there must be reasons why he couldn’t make of impact last year.

George Kittle becoming a star nfl TE is absolutely insane. There was nothing to indicate that was coming. and I always think it’s good to train with great players but I don’t always know how much it matters. Just because you work out with Jordan or Gretzky, it doesn’t mean you will become great. Knox just needs to catch the ball. Dude does get open. But he’s not a natural at the position.

It’s really that simple. 1) the first Jets game should have had them blowing us out but our defense stood on their head 2) we scored a td all game against Ten and they missed 4 fgs. Then we made our historic comeback. 3) duck was so bad yet it took 10 points in the 4th to win these games. thise were bad offensive games that resulted in even having to “comeback.” This nails it. This has always been my problem with the Allen pick (and prospects like this). They are a million more times physically talented than Fitz and to a lesser degree Tyrod. But what has he really produced that is better than them. Folks don’t want to here it but Fitz might be the best qb in the division right now. now obviously that should hopefully change. But a lot of Allen’s whole career has been more hype than results and this goes all the way back to college. A guy with his talent should made 1st or 2nd team in MWC.

They have become completely overrated here and not all game winning drives are the same. Some facts. 1) that loser Pat Mahomes only has 3!!! In 2 years. Clearly, the Bills made the right decision passing on him. He didn’t have a game winning drive when his team scored 51 points. Clearly, he isn’t clutch. 2) overrated and rb playing qb Lamar Jackson, who is clearly going to regress, only had 3 in 2 years. If he was probably more clutch, his record would be better than his terrible 19-3 it currently is. anti clutch Brady only had 1. Might have won more SBs if you were more clutch Tom! 3) Mark Sanchez aka captain comeback had 9 in two years!!! Josh Freeman has 5 in 2010. Blake Bortles has 5 in 2015. To sum this up: if you play with an awesome defense, you have a lot of chances for come backs if you offense isn’t good. Because if you play with an awesome defense and you have a good offense, you don’t need to come back because the game is over by the 4th. Pat Mahomes, even with a subpar defense, doesn’t need 4th comebacks because he is so awesome the entire game, they are won long before the 4th. so again, have a game winning SB drive against the number 1 defense (Mahomes) or Montana is slightly different than coming back to beat Duck and his 3 ints 17-10 or beating Marcus Mariota and 4 missed FGs 14-7. Some of you love this stat such much. Allen could be a much, much, much better qb this year (God willing) with 0 4th quarter comebacks. Very valid point. I think Wilson was a much, much better passer than Allen At a similar stage in their careers though. No offense but why do people do this? You know averages work right? What if we take out Miami? How does average look then? Or the crappy Giants? the Ravens played a much harder defensive schedule and averaged 33 points/ game.

For some people. I’m a catholic, went to catholic school, had religion as a class every year. I believe in GoD and have my own relationship that I don’t need to prove to anyone else. It’s so true. There are some people who genuinely don’t what sports mixing with politics because they genuinely want to escape it. An ex of mine’s dad was like that. He hated politics and never wanted to hear about it. but there are a lot of people who don’t want sports mixing with politics now because it disagrees with their politics.
