Josh Allen’s offense vs Sam Darnold’s offense
C.Biscuit97 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darnold was completely overrated in college but now he is underrated in the nfl. He would be really good on the Bills. And we would laugh at Allen on the Jets. -
What would/should a Milano extension look like?
C.Biscuit97 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why are you the way that you are? Get your juice boxes ready for the team mom. -
If they screwed up the Allen pick, why should they get another shot to screw up again? It’s the highest drafted qb in franchise history. And if Allen isn’t a franchise guy, there was overwhelming evidence that he won’t be. The Allen pick will either be genius or completely idiotic. Nothing in between. im fine with McDermott because he at worst is a very good DC. But if Allen isn’t the guy, we need a new GM (even though McDermott gets final say).

Pete Carroll is the Guy Greggo wishes he was. Gregg sucks. Such a wanna be tough guy. He’s the type of guy his family talks crap about he second he leaves the room. He’s the worst.

I really like Milano and he’s a playmaker. But you need to have a limit for him. OLBs are easy to replace and I worry about him staying healthy. Love the guy but you can’t sign everyone to max deals. -
As someone who didn’t want him from the start (love him being a local guy, know he knows a ton about football but his results absolutely suck), I’m already prepares for him to be the scapegoat if the offense struggles. he isn’t a good OC but at some point, players need to execute.

Is there any real training camp news?
C.Biscuit97 replied to CEN-CAL17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I literally forgot it’s training camp. Everything is so weird. I was someone who hated how much some fans overrated the meaning of camp. Now, I miss it. You never know what you have until it’s gone.- 44 replies

Unless it’s something major, I would l look to move on from home ASAP. He quit on the team in the playoffs. That’s complete BS. I would never have his back as teammate again (again if it is something serious, I completely take it back). side note, I won my biggest hockey bet ever betting the Bruins would be fired up and win yesterday. ? Much different story opting out before the season than in the middle of a playoff series.

This is the year D’Rick puts it all together!!!
-
That’s a good point. but it would be hilarious if McDermott became like Haynesworth, showed up 50 lbs overweight, and just completely checked out.
-
There wasn’t going to be a bidding war. It’s insane. But he’s a top 5 defensive coach so I’m good with him. Now he needs to make the offense much better and he will be a SB type coach and everything will be great.

You are the most sensitive human being on the board. I make a perfectly reasonable post and Instead of countering it (because I’m much smarter than you and you can’t), you try to make it personal. You loved the Jauron extension. You love the Fitz extension. You love everything thing they do. Which is fine, you’re Easy money. But you have no objectivity and are constantly wrong. And at no point have I once said he wasn’t a good coach. Stop being a soccer mom.
-
Yeah, this won’t have happened. Just like it won’t have happened with Jauron (former coach of the year). Or basically with any coach ever.
-
They won 7,8, and 9 games the 3 years before McDermott. You act like they took over the winless Browns or Lions. Also, we can debate how good that talent was, but guys like Sammy (2nd), Tyrod (3rd), Darby (3rd), clearly had value in the league and helped with the “rebuild.”
-
I would have seen how this year went and gave them an extension during the season if they deserved it. But it’s not my money so whatever.

Isn’t that more of a product of extremely low expectations? Like someone who has had sex in 17 years is going to think anyone who sleeps with is amazing. this is where some fans divide. There are some fans who never criticize anything and praise everything the team does. There are some fans who hate everything and are never happen. And then there are other fans who see what happens with other teams and higher expectations. The Bills not making the playoffs is remarkable in an awful way. Bad teams luck into the playoffs. The 2017 team was a bad playoff team and McDermott made one of the worst decisions ever with Peterman. Allen’s rookie year, they understandably take a step back. Last year, they got fat on a bad schedule and blew a playoff lead. I’ve said through this that I think McDermott is a good coach but it’s silly to act like he is like Bill Belichick at this point. It’s like when people criticize Allen for his passing because if you want good QBs play, he is below average. Should guys like that be celebrated because they are better than other crappy, former Bills? I don’t think so. The Bears fires Lovie Smith after going 10-6. So teams have much higher expectations. In the nba, I think the New York Knicks is a dream job because they have been so awful than just being average will get a parade. i think this year should have been the make or break year. The “process” should be completed and on paper, they have a much, much tougher schedule than last year. If they regress, it could be a huge red flag. But it’s not my money and we locked up a top 5 defensive coach so no real worries either way.

And that’s what great head coaches do. Obviously they have their strong suit on one side of the ball. But it’s becoming an overseer of the whole team. and if Allen is legit, McDermott will look great.
-
Who is arguing? It’s just conversation. Im repeatedly said I think he is a good coach. But it’s worth pointing out that our offense has kinda sucked since he’s been here. But now, there are no excuses. He’s well deserved on that list but there have probably been so coaches on that list that would be laughable now (Rex haha).
-
I mean the reason might be that Daboll just isn’t a good OC and has no track record of having a successful nfl offense. Jalen Hurts, SEC player of the year as a freshman, regressed under him and then became a Heisman finalist at Oklahoma. but I hope you’re right because the sky is the limit if they have a good offense.
-
I would love to read the happiness in the Jauron extension thread (actually no because I was super happy about it haha).
-
Fair. It’s also worth pointing out that that in years previous to McDermott, Tyrod led offenses that finished 13 and 16 in yards and 10th and 12th in points. His Peterman decision was one of the worst decisions ever made. I do think he is a good coach but so far, his offense have sucked. And that’s on him for hiring Ocs with poor resumes. There needs to be big time improvement on that side of the ball. And if it does, we have a legit SB contender.
-
I mean points/ per game is a pretty important stat right? ? as a defensive coach, McD is one of the best in the game. But as head coach, he is responsible for everything. But since he’s been a coach, we have had one of the worst offenses in the league. It’s just a fact. This year is huge because if they don’t improve, we could be on our 3rd OC in McDermott’s tenure and possibly a new qb. but again, I’m generally fine with it because I think McDermott is a good leader and will always have us in games because of his defense.
-
Yup. Anything less than top half of the league is a failure.

When was the last one?
