I wonder if after he bankrupts it, will he try to buy a nfl team and run for president?
-
You should watch other teams if you think Allen is good now. He has dominant flashes but he is not a good nfl qb yet. He is carried by a top 3 defense and just has to lose games right now. hopefully one day, he will be genuinely good. He has proven he can start in the league. But he’s not good now. Especially with throwing. Jackson has been a better passer on every level in football than Allen. Against better competition too. And Cam Newton was off to the best throwing season of his career and a MVP candidate 2 years ago until he hurt his shoulder.
-
Thank you! That’s all I’m trying to say. I had Allen and Jackson ranked the same in their draft because I had questions about both as passers. I would love Them to both be good because football is better with good QBs. But this board loves pretending that only Allen can improve and Jackson will just get worse. Dude has gotten better every year.
-
You do realize Jackson averaged more passing yards than Allen right? He’s been a better passer on every level than Allen, right? Could Allen be one better? Sure but it’s patently false to say it at this time. and comparisons are kinda dumb. I used to compare Losman with Favre after 2 seasons. You can find comparisons good and bad for whatever you’re trying to prove. Why not compare Allen to Josh Freeman instead of a top 5 QBs of all time? I mean I hope you’re right that his floor is a MVP qb and his ceiling is a top 5 qb. But it’s wild to say that after a season where he was the 32nd ranked passer in completion %.

You’re right. 2 great points. 1 - I remember all those years of Navy qbs leading the nation in td passes, winning Heismans, and then winning a nfl MVP. Just a bunch of roger staubachs dominating the nfl. 2 - always super smart to compare qbs from nearly 20 years ago. Nothing in the nfl has changed and the rules are exactly the same. And considering McNair has 6 total starts his first 2 years, it is a very valid comparison. Very.

Because stupidity should be called out. Just because fans are bills homers doesn’t mean we should just allow them to post dishonest things. Jackson also had a 69 td pass to 27 int rate in a much, much tougher conference with not a ton of nfl talent surrounding him (Allen was 44 td to 21 int). Yet this board tries to tear Jackson down while propping Allen up. If Allen had Jackson’s resume, I would fight posters if they tried to nitpick his numbers. It’s completely disingenuous.

Some Interesting Josh Allen stats

It’s put up or shut up. Sick of the excuses. He’s the highest drafted qb in franchise history. If this guy can’t get to 60% passing (average) for the first time in his entire career, he’s not the guy. no more hearing about everyone around him suck; his college coach (Carson Wentz’ coach) didn’t prepare him; it get s windy and cold; etc. etc. Be a guy who can win from pocket and do it consistently. It’s so tricky though. Personally, I want to see if he can win games with his arm. At the same point, they win a lot of games by basically not having the offense screw up, defense keep the game close, and get a late score to win. I remember waiting to turn JP Losman loose and then it became clear turning him loose resulted in a lot of terrible plays. The Bills can win a lot of games with average to below average qb play. I just want for the first time in a long time (I think Fitz did a few times), for us to leave a game and say man did our qb single handedly win us that game. -
Awful, embarrassing take. What is Allen if Jackson is a better version of Tommy Frazier or Frost? Tanner Lee? Haha. Heisman trophy winner and MVP Jackson equals Tommy Frazier or Frost. 56% passing Josh Allen is John Elway, who’s floor is McNair, a former MVP. While I love cross racial comparisons, this is an insane take.

I think AB is an awful human being and would never want him near my football team (can’t believe they tried trading for him in the first place). but this thread seems extra salty because AB would play with Lamar and not Allen. He sucked throwing in an event before the pro bowl (then won that MVP). But he sucks apparently.

Bob Costas Brings Up A Good Point about NFL Players

we don’t know the long term effects. There have been cases of young people who have recovered but have significant lung damage. It’s insane to say what long term effect this can have right now. I think everyone wants a season. If you opt, you are taking a significant pay cut. Also in the nfl, missing a year can be huge. I bet a bunch of the opt out guys never get an opportunity to play again. It’s a sport where if you miss a rep, your job can be gone. -
You knew the SEC wouldn’t cancel their season

Let’s agree to disagree. And judging the South by Atlanta, which is considered the Black Mecca of America, is like saying all qbs picked in the 6th round will be good because Tom Brady is. It’s the outliner. The south became a republican hotbed after they felt Lyndon B Johnson betrayed them by passing civil rights act and democrats were no longer the party of segregation. It’s ingrained in their fabric. And while there may have progress, there are so many examples of awful racism there. And I still believe a bunch of their fans couldn’t care less about the long term health of their student athletes. They just want to see football and the colleges/ states know how much it means to their bottom line. They will do immoral things to make money off these athletes, JMO. -

I’ve been to the good parts of the south (Charlotte, Asheville, Atlanta, Savanah, NO, parts of Florida). Congrats on living in racist parts of LI and upstate NY I guess. and of course there’s racist everyone but some parts of the south are stuck in a different world. Root for these kids then call them the n word behind closed doors. I think there are great SEC fans, the best college conference. I also think there are disgusting pieces of trash who think this virus is a myth, just want to see Rebels play, and couldn’t care less what happens to these student athletes. Exactly. That what some of these morons who are pushing for college football don’t get. If you’re a pro, it’s job. If you’re in college, they are prostituting you for billions for the school and town. You are meat to them. If you get it, spread it to your family or have long term health issues, you think most fans are going to care? BS. if I was a player, I’d medical redshirt this year or get myself ready for the draft like Caleb Farley is doing. Risking your health for free is dumb. -
122 catches 1848 yards, 15 tds Since we traded for him he became Jerry Rice, so anything less than that is a disappointment.

I bet you listen to plenty of idiots who don’t have a medical degree say this whole thing is a myth. This guy is now the voice of right wing sports: https://mobile.twitter.com/ClayTravis/status/1270053554103992322?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1270053554103992322|twgr^&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thedailybeast.com%2Finside-clay-travis-outkick-the-right-wing-sports-site-pushing-covid-trutherism -

Oh please Bill. A lot of these kids are pieces of meat to them. Some of them don’t care if they blew out their knee, their social issues, and what really goes on in their players lives. Framing Mississippi just got rid of the confederate flag a couple of months ago and had a segregated prom like 2 years ago. Is every SEC fan racist? Of course not. But there are a bunch of them and people you use these athletes because they produce big money for them. They see dollar signs not people. Pretend all you want. Besides Walmart, college sports is what keeps those states from being total concise disasters (and bail outs from New York and California). also, I know you are a Bama fan and I would never include you into these group because I know you’re a good man. But you’re biased and there are some awful people who totally use these student athletes who don’t give a damn about them.
