  1. I think ya'll who are nervous should take solace that under Brady the Bills are really a grind it out team that puts emphasis on moving the chains along with some physical McDermott D. They don't need the flash & huge chunk plays to survive. Run, protect the ball, hit some short/medium passes here and there...a couple Allen off script scrambles, a tush push...and we're good. Make good on your red zone opportunities. I might even suit up Latavius this week, I think he'd contribute in the pounding of the Steelers.
  2. I tend to agree with this as I was saying the same thing before the Chargers and Pats games. I mean you lose any of those games or Pittsburgh at home in OUR weather, there was zero chance for a Super Bowl. Therefore I'm not going to sweat it. I expect a win, but if they don't it saves me the heartache of a brutal loss they would endure in the next round or so.
  3. Illness? Hope the virus that hit other teams isn't ripping through the Bills. Just more adversity. After reading through the posts in this topic, I have canceled my Las Vegas Super Bowl reservations and I'm preparing various Mock drafts lol.
  4. If the County and State authorities determine it's life threatening travel conditions I would think they'd have to do something.. But will they predict 60-70+ inches like last year? That would be life threatening. If it's 6-8 inches I'm not sure that alters the timing of the game at all. Regression? They just produced 26 first down and 473 total yards vs a pretty decent Miami defense in their house.
  5. I'm sure the coaches and players are hyper aware that 1 year ago Cincinnati jumped on them 14-0 or was it 17-0 in the snow? The Bills never had a shot after that. As a matter of fact, Buffalo has been losing 7-0, 7-0, 10-0, to start the past three games. All this has to completely flip around starting Sunday in the weather.
  6. Well, the local and national folks were able to nail the 70+ inch lake effect last year, so if it's going to be terrible, life threatening travel conditions you'd think the NFL would be informed pretty quick.
  7. The Buffalo Bills are purposely leaving a roof off the new stadium, in part because of money...but a huge part is that they want outdoor football to continue. They feel like it's an advantage to have teams come up here and wilt in this weather and crazy environment. That being said, they better not lose the Steelers in our damn weather. They did a poor job of preparing for Cincinnati last January.
  8. The weather is all good. Alot of these Bills have played in cold, snow flakes and high winds in Highmark Stadium. They know the deal. Pittsburgh will be in a hostile environment and having to deal with elements against a better team. So the Steelers are screwed.
  9. I saw a blurb about Saban, and he would walk into a recruits house, sit with his parents and say when you come to Alabama you're not making a decision for the next 4 years. You're setting yourself up for the next 40 years (referring to the millions and millions of dollars of NFL signing bonuses from guys playing there). Hard to say no to that!
  10. Nick Saban, the inventor of the “the process” when discussing his program at Bama through the years
  11. At least the game i’m recalling I believe the Bills deferred and kicked with the wind in the First Qtr, opponent had wind in 2nd Qtr. Then Opponent kicked off gave us the wind in the 3rd and they had it again for the 4th. I don’t like that strategy. So it was a McDermott’s plan to force the opponent to go into strong winds on their opening drive. hoping to get the ball back quickly and get an early lead. So not really manipulating, just dumb decision in my opinion
  12. If the Steelers manipulate the coin toss to have the wind in the 2nd AND 4th Qtrs i’m going to rip my 60” TV down and throw it out on the street. It’s our stadium, our weather and McDermott should know how to play it.
  13. If Buffalo was a pass happy explosive chunk play team i’d be worried, but instead they are more grind it out and tough D lately. Plus we have the QB that goes off script and makes play with his legs. They don’t. That’s huge in weather.
  14. The Bills in this win streak have not been explosive really. Which is good, because the kind of game they will need to play this Sunday is the same kind of game they’ve been winning lately. Ball control, move the chains, don’t be reckless and dumb. McDermott and the captains need to be smart with the field direction. They must have the wind in the 2nd and/or 4th Qtrs. Those are the two long Qtrs with all the timeout usage, 2 min warning, guys getting out of bounds, extra plays, etc. There was a wind game either last year or a couple years ago where our opponent had the wind advantage in the 2nd and 4th Qtrs. That was egregiously bad decision making and coaching. That can’t happen Sunday.
  15. This seems like a bit of hyperbole. I’ve seen the forecast from my trusted weather sources. Sat eve the temps plummet and it gets windy as hell (50 mph gusts). We are fortunate the game isn’t scheduled for Sat night. By Sunday at 1pm there’s a 30% chance of scattered snow but no real accumulation. Winds 20-30 but trending a little less towards the 4th Qtr, and no huge gust predictions. Sunday night temps are in the low teens and that’s when 2-4 inches is expected. Of course this could all change but 4 days out it’s coming into focus.
  16. "This stadium was not built to keep the wind out. It has an extremely low profile which welcomes in the wind, and it’s extremely easy for the sweeping gusts to reach field level with minimal impediment".
  17. The other SEC teams must be rejoicing tonight. Just a sliver of an opening for some other programs to catch up a notch (other than UGA).
  18. From the field level video I saw behind Josh, it was pretty crazy to see how wide open Ty Johnson was when he caught that ball, and how fast the guys closed on him. Josh had to think that was a TD when he released the ball. Clearly helmet to helmet but as we have seen, the refs basically stopped calling that...even on the Bills.
  19. I should have said "one of the last" lol. After Carroll, Vrabel, Staley, Hoodie?...it's getting to be a restricted club.
  20. Pete Carroll reportedly getting blown out at Seattle. They are moving on. McDermott will be the last of the defensive background head coaches.
  21. Yeah, I agree. Think about last years team and then playoffs vs a weak Miami club and Cinci at home. There was no physicality. The Bills were so soft. It's changed since Brady and I'm sure McD is having it emphasized.
  22. I live like 45 mins from Baltimore and I can honestly say, the weather that Pittsburgh beat Baltimore's backups in last Sat night was the absolute worst. Just a really cold steady soaking rain and a decent wind.
  23. Are the Bills having some outdoor practice in the stadium on some of these windy days? They should, at least for portions of it..
  24. Michael Irvin and Richard Sherman on their show with Skip think the Bills are a flimsy #2 seed and Pittsburgh will be super physical and punch us in the mouth. I guess that means the Bills D and Oline won't be physical and will get pushed around all game. Okay.
