  1. LOL that's a terrible quality gif! If I weren't such a huge fan of the last boy scout I don't think I could have identified it Somebody didn't read the rest of the thread...
  2. 2/2 on the candidates you pointed out Yolo! Nice!
  3. All of this is moot if he's not getting separation anyway.
  4. He got robbed? So much for his "gunslinger" mentality.
  5. Snooze, drum corps actually adds to the gameday experience. Pro cheerleaders aren't a thing that should exist anymore.
  6. Because they have bad memories of him from his rookie season and haven't bothered to pay attention to his progress. The faction calling for him to replaced is likely not the most knowledgable group of fans.
  7. Complainers here are ridiculous. TBD whiners - "We know very little about what Beane actually did as a scout but we've decided to be upset because he wasn't PRIMARILY a scout." OBD- "We've hired a lifelong scout, who is well-respected and knows the division intimately, as Assistant GM." TBD whiners - "What were they thinking?!" For everyone complaining Monos is gone- here's your veteran scout. Much like Beane, we really have no idea how well the hire will pan out because, as subordinates, we don't know how much their input has made a difference in their prior team's FO decisions. What we do know is for the first time in a while we are getting a top to bottom reset and so far all of the people hired have strong work histories and reputations for being hard workers. Can we please stop ignorantly complaining just as a default? Groucho Marx once famously joked that he "would never join any organization that would accept him as a member." It seems like half the people here take that to heart: "he can't be any good because he's here now."
  8. Well this one was started by a guy who does nothing but start opinion-based threads with new informa... nevermind.
  9. Don't sell yourself short, we were all very excited about your objective "insider" info (instagram) that Shady was absolutely not going to be on this team this year.
  10. Would you really? He's old now and hasn't played well in years.
  11. Someone is saallllty. Wrong thread there white knight.
  12. This is a post that exists on this board. We now have retroactive mock drafts
  13. I am unINterest in this topic. The caps really drive home the point you are making though - we should bring back trade schools because reading and writing just aren't for everyone.
  14. Very cool. Tell him we're rooting for him and really hope it all works out!
  15. I would argue that Da'Rick had red flags that kept him from being drafted and those red flags proved to be correct in the end. This kid literally could not be drafted because of a shift in military policy. He had a solid mid-round grade on him. I don't think anyone is expecting him to come in and compete with Zay or Sammy, but I do think he could develop into a decent WR3.
  16. You DO see how an appeal for objectivity might be hard to take when coming from you though don't you? I can probably count the number of "the sky is NOT falling" posts you've made on one hand. There seems to be a feeling amongst a lot of the doom and gloomers here that the only "objective" reality is some pessimistic "we're never getting better until they follow my plan" response to every single move the team makes. Those who disagree with them, or choose to look at those same situations with an open mind and are willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt, are somehow "koolaid drinkers" wearing "rose-colored glasses." There is no reason to rip on someone for having a different viewpoint that has a more positive spin than yours. Hope is not naive, it's a choice. Positivity is not blindness to a situation, it's a decision to look for positive ways to deal with a situation. You are not a more "real" or "centered" or "objective" fan because you choose to complain.
  17. My point being that if it's a matter of influence, this kid has the right people in his corner. There was a policy in place up until the day of the draft specifically allowing players from service academies to spend their "active duty" requirement as reserves. This policy was scrapped and the new regulations went into place on May 1. The Air Force announced this shift in policy the first day of the draft. It's not like there was a policy already in place stating he'd have to wait 2 years and then he acted like he was surprised by it. This was a shift in policy from what was already in place and was enacted and applied to players who may have transferred out of service academies had they known the policy was not longer in effect.
  18. How will they FEEL? I would say mixed emotions, including happy, sad and concerned; probably with an undercurrent of insecurity and a fear that they will never be half the men their fathers' are.
  19. This has zero to do with the Bills' influence and everything to do with his agent's influence. If you're not familiar with Holland & Knight, they are a top tier law firm with connections all over the Hill. I see this one going our way. I'd argue that you cannot change a policy that's been in place clearly allowing players to go pro on literally the first day of the draft. You have to give players advance warning of this and allow them the opportunity to transfer if they want to.
  20. Different areas though. Brandon is a marketing and sales guy. Pegulas may be shrewd at investing and experts in their business, but good business people know what their strengths and weaknesses are and find people they can rely on to take care of those weaker areas. Russ is an excellent marketer, we may not like how he injects himself into football operations, but he is good at his job of making money for the franchise.
  21. Thanks CB - love these updates
  22. This is a forum for FOOTBALL information and discussion. PLEASE stop with the million terrible LAMP threads about how you feel about things. I'm sick and tired of all these "special snowflakes" starting topics based solely on opinions and feelings. If a poster that contributes with links and inside information or gives reports of training camp and practices they've observed injects some personal opinions into a topic, fine. The proliferation of these non-informative or duplicate topics is lessening the quality of this board.
  23. Brandon makes money. I don't expect him to go anywhere. That said, I do expect him to be marginalized and pushed out of football operations completely. Team McBean are too tight to allow someone to insinuate themselves into the middle of the decision-making process and McDermott has already shown he has enough cache with the owner to get Russ' friends fired.
