  1. since coles got a huge signing bonus by the skins last year, anyone know how trading him effects their cap?
  2. i doubt we can spend anymore cash on our D rt now. Our secondary and Lb's take up most of our cap space as it is.
  3. yes! I'm behind him, but we havent made the playoffs in forever, and we are almost maxed out against the cap, w/ many needs unfilled. I'd have to say the jury is still out on whether he was successful or not. If he quit today - he was not. But I have a strong feeling that mcgahee and losman, along w/ our D, will change that in 05. Go Bills!
  4. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-c...ov=ap&type=lgns AZ is retarded. are they collecting o tackles for fun???? They also have Davis - who they picked 2nd overall a few years ago. And we complain about MW - imagine if he wasnt even cracking the lineup like Davis?
  5. ifs its true, what the hell did we spend all our cash on? a great D...w/ no o line?? this is quite disturbing.
  6. halleluhia! or however you spell that! im confident that oline will be fine. lets see what they do.
  7. do you remeber that adams was benched last year b/c edwards was playing better then him for a stretch? we have viable replacements on the d line, but not the o line. we need to focus our cash on the most critical positions - o line, TE, especially witha rookie qb.
  8. yup. this guy is our best scenario. lets hope the cards/th/td get this deal done. we then will have cash for a guard too.
  9. 5.4 mil a year isnt that cheap. close to moulds' numbers. i guess mason was the top wide out in FA, but its still alot of money. at 5.4 he would be about 3rd highest on our teams cap. balt could be realllll good if billick can get the thier qb to step up.
  10. signing bonus count against the cap. i know, i know - they are amortized, but they still count. reports said 10 mil SB with 2-3 mil salary for someone like wahle or rivera. that puts the hit at 5 mil or above a year, which hurts.
  11. nice. we can play in that market for sure!!! reports were saying the the two GB guards could fetch 10 mil signing bonuses. I'm happy to see some reasonable numbers.
  12. clump-ditty: what is your view on the best way to creat space?
  13. with only 6.8 left under our cap (according to clump) we couldnt have signed jj and pat. unless mike williams restructures, we are limited in what we can do in FA. With all of our pending FA on D next year (2006), i'm a bit concerned about our ability to replace starters next year too.
  14. well we have had one of the best d's in the league the last 2 years, and to get that type of production you have to pay. But we dont want to get out of whack like indy with their o. balance is the key. after looking at this and clump's new 3/2 cap ledger, its clear we can't sign PW and JJ and still add at O Line, RB, TE, backup QB, etc. TD;s got his work cut out for him. Henry for Shelton would be a nice start.
  15. interesting. i just have no idea how teague would do at tackle. but I'd prefer to get a new C and G for the price of one new tackle. I am waiting to be appalled at the price someone pays for JJ.
  16. jonas must be peeing his pants with anticipation - chris samuels just got a 15.75 signing bonus from wash. holy cow. shelton is looking more and more like it would/could have been a good deal.
  17. we dont need to draft a rb, we already have 2 on the roster with minimal experience. we need a guy who is a seasoned vet who is looking for some 3rd down carries and can step in when necessary. a rookie in rd 5 wont help us that much.
  18. on wfan peter king said that parcells is going to nab ferguson quickly.
  19. If we are choosing btwn the two - I'd rather get clements signed to a long term deal then give Pat a big pay day. I love Pat and believe he is underated. But nate is a necessity for us to keep around and his K expires after this year.
  20. Couldn't agree more. I hope big Pat gives us a hometown discount, but understand if he doesnt.
  21. I'd prefer shelton at 3 mil for each of the next 3 seasons. Shelton can play and will be just fine once he is out of Az and onto a winning team. Mcnally will be able to get this guy back to his potential. Signing a FA tackle is just too expensive. We already have 9 mil tied up in our other tackle.
  22. this is so stupid. they are screwed. over the cap by 15 mil, and they havent even added in moss and porter!! haaaa! that is some serious cap mismanagement. they are going to have to do seom serious cutting. and they pretty much sucked last year. we play them again next year - lets chalk that baby up for a w.
  23. football is a biz and i expect the players to try and get all they can in the, at most, less then 10 years in the league that guys last. f the other players or union, and the teams for that matter - they dont have to live w/ themselves. i think pat should do whats best for him and his family. that being said - he knows we are on our way up and will be winning. he likes buff. factor that all in and i hope he stays for a sum that doesnt kill our cap.
