  1. Yeah, there's still some talent out there. A C that may be worth looking at is Jake Grove. He never quite panned put in Oakland but I think the guy still has a chance to be good. I sure hope we pickup a WR. I think the right guy could really make a difference. I got to see Kalimba Edwards quite a bit out here in Oakland and he can definitely get some pressure off the edge, but it seemed like he was hurt alot. I also think Cato June and Rocky Bernard would be good fits.
  2. Hey bro, what the hell is that in your avatar?
  3. As others have already said here, I think the FO should have had a couple FAs targeted and went after them hard and fast. It looks now that we may just end up with second tier/depth type FAs,and this team needs better than that in a few spots. Greer should only be allowed to walk after a real effort was made to keep him,he's a valuable player. Neither one of us know what went on in negotiations so if the attempt was made and he's just TOO expensive,so be it. Cutting Dockery was a mistake,IMO. He was overpaid but it just creates another gaping hole to fill. Peters is a good player who,IMO,has questionable desire. If he does get his extension I hope he lives up to it and we don't see ourselves in the same situation with him all over again in a year or 2.
  4. I'd sign Lewis in a heartbeat. The leadership he would bring would be worth as much as it took to sign him. Baltimores D has been dominant and intimidating as long as he's been there. They've changed head coaches, position coaches and DC's but the D has remained the same. The one constant has been Ray Lewis.
  5. I wouldn't say they have ZERO playmakers. I'd say Evans and Lynch and to a lesser extent Jackson are playmakers. On defense Mitchell,Mcgee and Greer have all had their moments. Mccelvin and Poz show promise. What we need is MORE playmakers.
  6. The holes on the line are a big concern. I don't know that I liked cutting Dockery. Yea,he was way overpaid, but cutting him just made another urgent need that HAS to be filled. If he's kept we're only looking for a center and depth. C Jake Grove would be worth a look,IMO. Cato June would be a good pickup at LB. DE is a huge need, but not sure who's out there in FA that would help other than Peppers. May look to draft to help there. We'll just have to wait to see how it all plays out...
  7. Because everybody around him, from friends and old coaches to team mates and agents say he's a kid with a good heart. I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  8. You and I actually agree. I'm not saying his behavior should be excused, only that I understand the difficulty in making the changes that he needs to make. I've had to make the same adjustments in my own life, only I wasn't under a microscope when I did it. The fact that he's suddenly a millionaire makes those changes even more complicated.
  9. I agree with you 100%. I posted the same thing a few days ago but the thread was closed for some reason. Some people here just don't understand what it's like to grow up in an environment like Lynch did. It takes time to adjust your behavior and relationships to what society sees as the norm.
  10. You're right. A great NT in a 3-4 can still be great in a 4-3. It all depends on the scheme. Some 4-3 schemes use a NT lined up over the C. It all depends on what your asking that DT to do,push the C back into the pocket and eat up double teams or shoot gaps.
  11. I've run across you on several threads lately and you seem to love telling others that their post is repetitive or stupid or just generally shouldn't be on the board. If that's your opinion, fine, just move along. No reason to post a snide,"I'm smarter that you" post. If you want to discuss football, great, just drop the holier than thou attitude.
  12. Exacty. The guys only been around here for a few months and he's already appointed himself a moderater.
  13. I've always thought Whitner would be better at FS. Coming out of tOSU he had good speed, decent coverage skills and was a hitter but lacked ideal size for an NFL SS. It surprised me they put him there. Some draft experts even projected him to CB. Bring in a hammer at SS and move DW to FS and I bet he excels.
  14. I really like White. I think he could be a good NFL QB. Talk is he may go as high as rd2.
  15. Finally somebody that agrees with me! Everybody seems to love the throwbacks. The throwbacks are OK but that royal blue is the ugliest color in the world. My suggestion is navy blue jerseys, white pants w/blue stripe and the 1980 helmet. On the road go with white jerseys, navy pants. Maybe go blue on blue once in a whole at home. Just stay away from that royal blue.
  16. I disagree. I like Pat White as a QB. In the right system I think he could be a very good NFL QB. And that system would not have to be the read-option that they use at WVU. He's an accurate passer with good arm strength and obviously he's very mobile. I think he could be a more talented version of Rich Gannon when he took the Raiders to the Super Bowl. I'd love to see the Bills draft him if he was around in the 3rd or 4th rounds.
  17. Seriously? I can understand your feelings toward Vick,I know people that feel the same way. But I find it hard to believe a long time fan would really change loyalties because of a single signing.
  18. Those PETA people need to relax. The man will have done his time and should be allowed go on with his life.
  19. As long as they don't pay him a fortune and they make him compete for a job,I wouldn't have a problem with bringing Vick in.
