Average MLB that never comes off the field? People fail to understand this. We have a 6'5 250 lb MLB that never comes off the field for a defense that has been good for many years.

Yeah he fits the Beane bill. They tried to get him previously also.

OK. Team B kicks a game tying FG with 20 seconds left. Team B kicks off for a touch back. Team A would start the possession on their own 25 and begin their drive. Can't get too conservative because the drive is continued into OT. You don't want to waste downs. It'll be just like the end of the 1st or 3rd but now OT rules kick in. We always play OT like it's a new game but it's not. So much happened to get to this point but now none of it matters. The whole process of stopping the game and doing a coin flip just takes away from an exciting finish to regulation.

Play it exactly how they would at the end of the 1st or 3rd quarter. They get the ball to start OT wherever they were at the end of the 4th. Same down and distance. Same timeouts. If a score happens at the end of regulation then it's a kickoff to start OT. In your scenario Team A is around midfield I'm guessing driving and there's like 20 seconds left. Remember OT rules are you only win on the 1st possession with a TD. A Team A FG on this drive in OT would give the ball to Team B with a chance to win sudden death with a TD. Knowing that, as a fan what would you suggest your team do? I would want my team to go for the win in regulation.

Money is always the answer to why. Everyone would want their cut of long OT games. Not a fan of college OT. I want teams to have to earn points. I like giving each team possession, that's about it. I don't need kickoffs, but start at your own 25.

I guess the worry is games going on forever. I actually don't dislike overtime rules, I just hate how possession is decided.

Maybe the Buffalo fan in me, but you just know they're going to change OT next year and it costs the Bills a playoff win.

I love the idea of teams deciding to go for 2 more often in regulation. I promise there would be less OT.

There was a whole game played that set up any end of regulation scenario. OT gives possession to a team based on a coin flip. I don't understand why you throw away an entire game. Just continue the game with OT rules. Think about games where a kicker misses a kick to win the game at the end of regulation but then his team wins the OT coin flip. Continuing the game where it ended in regulation is the easiest solution. Game tied 20-20, Team A kicker misses end of regulation FG attempt. Team B should get possession, but instead it's decided by coin flip. That's why people get angry. It's not the OT rules, it's the coin flip after the entire game is played.

First scenario is perfect. That's exactly how it should be. Like I said, team B already knows who gets possession in OT. So if they score a TD they could go for 2 to win in regulation instead of play defense in OT and hope to get the ball back. Second scenario would take game management by the coach. Remember at the end of regulation you still win the game if you make the long FG. In OT a made FG gives the ball to the opponent for their possession. Team A would still have to score a TD on their 1st possession in OT to win on that possession.

Why would that be an advantage? Paint the scenario.

I figured out what the change should be. Eliminate the coin flip. Continue the game into extra time. OT rules basically stay the same. TD on 1st possession wins it, after 1st possession it's sudden death. BUT the big change is the game just continues where it ended in regulation. No coin flip. For example, Cheifs tied the game vs the Bills at the end of regulation. OT would start where regulation ends. Chiefs kicking off to the Bills in OT. If there were still some time left in regulation with a tie, let's say 10 seconds, normally a team would kneel. Now teams would know they continue possession into OT. Also in this scenario since the team that is losing at the end of regulation knows the other team gets possession you would likely see more teams go for two instead of the tie at the end of regulation. Tell me this isn't the perfect fix? No more coin flip deciding games.

Here's an interview with Chris Simms. One comment from Simms sticks out about the defense. So many people here talking about how predictable our defense is, well it doesn't sound like Simms agrees. 5:30 mark. The whole interview is good.

They have finished top 3 in 3/4 years with basically the same players. I don't understand why Bills fans are so critical of the Bills defense. We all know they can be better, but these takes are terrible.

Fitzpatrick and his voodoo dolls can go somewhere else.

He's young but has been in the same defense 4 years with zero growth. So I understand why fans want more from Edmunds. I think we should be getting more from Edmunds. But I don't see a player that's a liability like other fans do. It just doesn't make sense. I think when it comes to signing Edmunds it'll come down to asking price. I don't think the Bills are prepared to give him top 5 ILB money. Building a team isn't easy and you're never going to get everything right.

Maybe but he almost signed in Buffalo. The way Beane works he's gone back after players he didn't get.

When the Bills go man he'll typically take the RB, which he did vs the Chiefs. Yes he'll cover the middle along with others. There were break downs. There was a big gainer in OT to Hardman I can't figure out. Looks like someone busted coverage. As for the run, our defense is literally what coach preaches. 1/11. Everyone has to be in their gap on every run play. I'm sure Edmunds was out of his gap at times. I haven't really focused on the run game vs KC. Mahomes scrambled almost everytime we covered well in man. That killed us and the Hardman TD, which was Poyers fault.

He's not a liability. The Chiefs did not target Edmunds. Edmunds doesn't play much man, and if he does its a RB in the flat.

Also says the Bills have already started so they remain on schedule. Plan is 4 years. Josh Allen will be 30.

At the right price he's perfect. Something we don't have on offense. Physical middle field target, good blocker.

Hughes is very good at making a QB move, I'm guessing that would be considered a win.
