What type of Offense will Ken Dorsey bring?
Buffalo_Stampede replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
My point is what type of 2nd TE are we talking about free agency wise? You're spending a high pick on a TE? You'd have to spend some major assets on a TE to run more 2 TE sets. -
I don't get it. I mean part of me gets it because of all the Lindy Ruff and Regier debates I've had over the years. At least with those guys there was losing seasons.

How bad is it for Lesile Frazier?

I don't understand how someone can say the Bills coaches stink. I was killing time responding but I'm done now. No point. -

I'm guessing it'll be very similar. The changes will come up front with Aaron Kromer. I'm interested to see what happens there. Josh Allen is going to basically control the offense though. He's likely to have even more say in what they do offensively. What tight ends? We have 1. -

That's the tough part. It doesn't make any sense. I think fans deserve an explanation as to what happened or what was supposed to happen. -
Why are people always talking pass rusher?

It's going to happen more often than not. -

I'm definitely calling man coverage with only 2 rushers. Dropping 9 DBs in coverage. But year any type of normal cover 3 or 4 works also. The Chiefs run that formation all the time. Multiple times they've run that formation and Wallace was in the face of Kelce. -

Yep. And I put that squarely on McDermott. You can't really put it on anyone else. I loved how Sean Payton talked about it. He's an offensive coach but knew the exact defense that the Saints would've called in that situation. That play call was determined before the game even happened. -

Name a great QB we faced in the playoffs? It's the playoffs! Lamar Jackson? Watson? Mahomes obviously. I mean who are the better AFC QB's before this season? That's basically 3 of the top 5 in AFC. We haven't faced Burrow or Herbert yet. Herbert has to actually get to the playoffs. -

They called timeout for discussion. They were in the defense McDermott wanted. Simple as that. Like McDermott said, they practice that situation all the time. That call was made months in advance. They had a plan for that situation and tried to execute that plan. It failed. We'll never know exactly what happened, according to Bruce Smith the players were out of position. -

Typically these types of conversation happen after years of 1st round exists in the playoffs. -

What? Because they haven't figured out how to stop the Chiefs? What's the alternative to Frazier? I really don't see a defense loaded with talent either. If anything maybe changes to the DL coach. DL is probably the biggest disappointment on defense. But even Washington is one of the best DL coaches our there. Again there were timeouts called. Both calls are on McDermott. They discussed exactly what they wanted there in that situation. -

Players were out of position according to Bruce Smith. McDermott says they practice that situation all the time. I still believe Obada screwed up in some way. He looks at Kelce before the snap. I just feel like he blew an assignment. -

Here is the interview you're probably thinking of where Frazier talks about not liking to make adjustments during games. Start listening at 2:55 minutes. Then he talks again about hating to make adjustments at 6:45 minutes. Unbelievable stuff here. -
I think of Charles Woodson going to Green Bay also when Aaron Rodgers won it. There's a free agent that won't get a lot of love around here but DT/DE Calais Campbell would be a great signing for toughness and veteran leadership on the DL. He's very close with Rousseau. We have a young DL with talent. A lot of high picks. Some guidance from a player like Campbell could be a big boost. Patrick Peterson in the secondary would also be a good move.

To me it's been players mostly not making tackles. Definitely in the Houston game. Even in the division game vs the Chiefs Mahomes was running all over the place. They made him move from his pocket a lot of the game but couldn't make a play upfront. I honestly don't remember the Jags game in detail but they didn't give up much.

The Rams had the #1 defense in 2020. Gave up 32 points and 500 yards in a loss to Aaron Rodgers in the division round last year. In 2019 the Patriots had the #1 defense and gave up 200 yards rushing to the Titans in a loss in the wild card round. We have good coaches. They made a couple bad decisions in the playoffs. They deserve criticism, but be better Bills fans. You don't fire a coach like Frazier over that. We don't even know what happened. -

Stunts are a huge part of the Bills defense. They are typically called by the players. Blitzing isn't a huge part of the defense and Blitzing good QB's typically isn't smart football.
