And the defense did begin to turn around without him. He's a huge part of the Bills defense but it's a position we can fill rather easily if the Bills want to spend on the position this offseason. I'm not sure what type of resources Beane and McDermott want to spend replacing Milano. If they choose to spend a high draft pick or decent amount of cap space then replacing his production won't be difficult. IMO I would try to sign a cheaper veteran and spend assets on DL and CB on defense. See if we can make it work.

Carl Lawson will get a huge contract. Bills aren't going there this offseason. Spotrac has that projection way off in my opinion. Agents and GMs know all the stats listed. He's getting a bigger deal than Shaq Lawson. Shaq got 3 years $30 million. My guess for Carl Lawson is $15 million per year.

Yeah. Only issue I see is they signed Klein. So maybe they see them as similar players. Kirksey has been a 3 down LB in the league though. I also feel he's an upgrade to Klein. Pettine is a bone head play caller at times. Kirksey was Pettine's guy.

LB Christian Kirksey was just released. Bills tried to sign him last offseason.

It's called sub packages. They might not find another 3 down LB. They might find one that subs in on 3rd down. Its not rare to find a 3 down LB. You can't just plug anyone in though and say play 3 downs. They'll have to find a way to replace him. Aj Klein wasn't signed to replace Milano.

McDermott loves his nickle package and we likely aren't going away from it. They will find a way to make it work. Improve CB 2 and the edge talent and we can protect whoever the Weak side LB is out on the field. Hopefully whoever it is won't need protection.
