You'd be surprised. They can always push money into the future. Beane doesn't like doing that but there's always cap space.
The reason listed is just dumb though.
Everything he did was unreal. Honestly he could put back on 20 lbs and still be an unreal athlete. What he showed at the combine was freakish athleticism.
McDermott has been very consistent. He did include himself though.
Listen, we're going by what's been said by people who claim they have sources.
How exactly the kick ended up in the end zone is a mystery. What's not a mystery is who made the decision. The kickoff and defensive calls at the end of regulation are head coach decisions. I've said that all along.
Everyone in here is talking about stamina and weight. We don't run a defense that puts stress on DL like that. It doesn't matter what DT we draft, he's not likely to top 60% of snaps, and that's if he's as good as Ed Oliver. Oliver probably averages 55%. Harrison Phillips out snapped Oliver.
I don't really care if Davis is only used in run situations. In this defense that's huge. I also believe Davis will free up others to rush the passer. I don't think he'll be a liability when teams pass. The big thing I need to know about Davis is effort. Does the guy love football and does he play hard. His weight can be tracked and managed. I need to know the effort is there all the time.
You can't fix 2 leaky holes on the OL. Brown actually wasn't good. He was a rookie so inconsistent play should be expected but he wasn't good.
The Bills were able to protect Allen better once the left side was stable.
A lot of the reason was Dawkins struggling and the musical chairs at 3/4 other positions. Once Dawkins was back to normal, Bates, Williams, and Brown were starting, everything improved.
I thought it was interesting Beane said Phillips will test free agency during his combine interview. No one really reacted to it. Sounds like Phillips wants more than the Bills are willing to offer.
