Did you ever think that maybe his "career" of poor coaching was due to bad players. From what I recall reading he did have a couple good years, they weren't all bad . Maybe the moral of the whole thing is doesn't matter who the coach is, you need the players first.

So I was listening to the Dan Lebetard show this afternoon, he had on John Clayton who was taking calls. Someone asked where Clayton thought Ray Rice would play next year and he stated Buffalo as Terry P had a connection with him though the sports agency he was involved with.. Obviously pure speculation, but that was his response.

These days it's rare for an NFL coach to be fired mid season. 30 years ago, happened all the time, frequently by the Bills. Jauron elected to leave, he wasn't fired.

For all the knocks on Hackett, we were saying the same thing last year about the ST coach and look at the play of ST this year. Makes a difference when you actually have players. Not that the offense doesn't have players, but still have a shaky line and QB play is rather unsettled. Not trying to say Hackert is the answer, but he's also not as big an issue as many make him out to be either.

I see Pitt is playing at home on Saturday, likely that's the reason they aren't moving it there as would have seemed to me to been the best choice as closest if anyone did want to make the trip.

Find it kind of amusing that pretty much no mention of Toronto being a possibility. I'm sure the Bills said they don't want to open up that can of worms again. The team hardly practiced as people couldn't get out. I recall Eric Moulds getting out on a snowmobile. It was the last game of a dismay year, limited practice all week between the holiday and the snow, no one gave them much of a chance, figured they'd just be in a hurry to finish the game so they can head to their winter homes out of the cold. They went to NY the following Sunday, and beat the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets. So it can als obe a rallying point too, will see. Likely Rex will be a rather large snow ball target.

So if that's true then how can you say the draft was full of stars and none of the others are there yet either. From what 've seen Sammy playing with the worst QB of the star rookie WR's and a rather weak oline, and being nicked up, does indeed look more like a superstar in the making than the others. Will that happen who knows just as you don't know if these others will be just as good.

From everything I read back in August Cleveland was expected to be better than Buffalo. Cleveland is one game better than Buffalo right now, they play in two weeks, lets see where they are then. And I don't think most people expected everyone in that division to be completely erratic like they have been. So if Cleveland does make the playoff,s to me all it means is Pettine went to a better team in a division that no one seems to want to win.

He drafted Manual, signed Orton and Kolb. Expected (can't think of the guys name form last year from Duke) him to improve with a year under his belt, but instead regressed. If you blame a GM for no QB answer, then don't hire anyone for the job as doubt you can find a GM who solved the QB position in 2 years except for Green Bay who went from Farve to Rodgers. Every other team has failed repeatedly in find in the right guy. Same can be said for coaches too for the most part.

You make it sound like every GM in the league has been able to draft successful GB's except us. He's had a plan for QB and for LG, did they work out as well as he expected, no but other moved he's made have worked out better. When you ad dup all the pluses and minuses, there's been more pluses as the roster is much stronger overall now than two years ago. And while agree that QB is the most important one to work out, it's also the one that fails the most for most every team. Back in 2012 I looked at every team since 1995 when Kelly retired how many starting QB's teams had went through and switched to someone else either because the person did terrible or injury and the new guy played better. (believe that was how Edwards first started) Alot of those teams are considered good stable franchises, with solid front offices, but they too couldn't get the right guy either Look at Pitt, they had five, then in 2002, Big Ben came along and none since, but if they hadn't found him, likely they'd have been through a good ten or so by now too. Packers had two, Farve to Rodgers, NE Bledsoe to Brady and one year of Cassell when Brady got hurt. Once the Colts got Manning they were all set. Giants had six between 1995 and 2004, then one since Eli. Point is don't think you should judge a GM's success by whether he found a good QB as then they all should be fired. So they have a talented roster, but yet you want to fire the GM and replace him with whom?? That sounds real smart!! What makes you think you'll find someone better, the likelyhood is low just based on how many lousy teams there are in football. Coaching staff I'd agree with firing, but Brandon and Whaley I hope stay. RB isn't involved with football decisions anymore and even when he was involved with football decisions, I don't beliive he really was, likely he was more rubber stamping things that the football people wanted. That in itself may have been a problem, but don't blame him for that, blame RW fand Marvor putting him in that position. If Whaley does get fired, he'll be hired by some other team real fast and likely RB will be working in the NFL office.

While we're at it here's another one, lets start firing camera men who don't get the angles right that would lead to all reviews being ruled in the favor of the Bill's!

So where are these guys today?? Yeah is great that Davis is showing flashes, but so did Losman and Edwards, and what good did it do. There are often rookies that maybe have some type of "it" factor that works for around a year, then reality sets in. Nick Foles may be the latest victom of this, I say may as still unknown whether he will get it back or not. When a guy has the "it" factor for around five years running, then it says something. Less than that not sure it means anything more than what Manual has shown.
