  1. Information based on a "well connected website" Profootball Talk. I am already beginning to doubt the truth of this report! PFT is constantly making up bogus rumors.
  2. Philip Rivers tore up the Senior Bowl and was MVP. If I remember correctly, Losman kind of stunk it up. Does this mean Rivers is a way better QB? Charley Whitehurst looked better than Cutler, but there is no way that you can tell me he is better than Cutler. I think Cutler, in the right setting (like Roethlisburger in Pittsburgh) could turn out to be the best QB in this draft. I agree that there are other pressing needs on this team, but, If your QB is subpar then you better have a super duper defense. No one player can kill you more than a poor QB. I suspect that Levy and the coaching staff are not quite ready to give up on Losman, especially since Modrak played a hand in drafting him. Unless the Bills are absolutely gaga over the guy, he likey will be playing for someone else.
  3. Who is Kent Hunt? Any relation to Mike Hunt?
  4. If D'Brick, Ngata, and Super Mario are off the board at #8, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the bills took Hawk. That is, if he falls that far. I hope Spikes comes back strong, but you just never know.
  5. Second try: 1)Big boss man The dead 4) Flutie 5)Joe Valentine of the Reds
  6. 1)Let it bleed The Rolling Stones 2)frosty 3)Canadians say "you hoser" These guys say "you hose me?" 4)I can't bring myself to think good thoughts about the Pats 5)Reggie Bush
  7. It is true that most QBs take some time to develop. The same holds true for an offensive lineman. From what I hear, there are concerns about D'Brick's run blocking and that he will need to bulk up a bit. Ngata and Williams probably are not going to the pro bowl as rookies. I agree that the lines need to be addressed and will be, no doubt. From what I have read, the draft is fairly deep at OL and DL and good players can be had in the 2-4 rounds. It will boil down to the staff's opinion of JPL. If they are sold on him then there is no way we make the pick. If not, and if they really like Cutler, It would neither shock nor upset me.
  8. Moot it is. Still, the Bills felt that Willis was just too good to pass up and the pick shocked nearly everone. Nonsense? We shall see. You base your argument on an assumption that JPL is highly regarded by the incoming coaching staff and GM. Granted, Modrak probably had a big hand in chosing Losman and that may work in his favor. Still, if the powers that be are enthralled with Cutler, they will take him, IMO
  9. I suppose it made a lot of sense for Donahoe to pick Willis when we already had Travis and much more pressing needs. Marv knows the importance of the QB position. I'm not saying it is a sure thing he would take Cutler if available, I'm simply saying that many scouts feel Cutler is a hell of a QB. Our scouts (and Modrak) loved Willis enough to pick him bum knee and all even when our needs seemed greater at other spots. If our scouting department is really high on Cutler, and again, I really don't know if this is the case, it wouldn't surprise me to hear his name called at #8. In terms of Roethlisburger, some would say we should have tried harder to trade up to get him. If the bills feel good about JPL then this is a mute discussion. If they have major misgivings, then don't be surprised if they consider Cutler.
  10. If Cutler is as good as many people think, I wouldn't be surprised if Levy picked him. It all boils down to what management thinks about JPL. Personally, I'm not sold on Losman. Cutler is very talented but was the only shining star on a poor team. From what I read, he has a Jim Kelly like mentality. Maybe not quite as outspoken but mentally tough. He also has a very strong arm, a quick release, and is more mobile. On top of that, he is a northern boy, being from Wisconsin and Indiana. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seems like California surfer types just have a hard time fitting in in Buffalo, NY. There has been quite a bit of lamenting about missing out on Ben Roethlisburger 2 years ago. Maybe, just maybe, we will get a second chance to make things right. Most GMs want to put their stamp on their team. Donahoe basically totally turned over our roster. Levy may want to at least go forward with his top choice at QB. If we can help our offensive and defensive lines in free agency and in other rounds in the draft, then I wouldn't have a problem picking Cutler at #8.
  11. What if TD goes to the Jets? Would he try to shake Modrak loose fro Buffalo? Would he try hard to stick it to the Bills? Pulling Modrak away from the Bills before the draft would be a major blow. Addendum, just heard that Tennebaum (sp?) was named GM.
  12. Watch for the skins to either cut or more than likely try to trade Patrick Ramsey. If the price were right, I'd like to see Buffalo get him. He is a tough kid with a strong arm. Seems like a decent fit in blue collar Buffalo. His mobility isn't the greatest, so OL repairs would be a must.
  13. A couple weeks ago I had to decide if my post was funny enough for you. Now I must examine the seriousness of the thread. Will it be ok if I just email you my post in advance? If it doesn't meet your approval, maybe you could edit it or something.
  14. Just a hunch. Roll will end up with Mularkey in Miami.
  15. I guess I should have stated trade or keep Nate. What I think would be wrong would be to simply let him walk. There are some decent CBs in the draft, if it came to that. If we get a DC like Fewell, He (and Jauron) could have a lot of positive influence on the development of our secondary.
  16. I wouldn't poo poo the idea that quickly. Shawn Springs is pushing 31 yrs old and has had injury problems. I thinks many would consider Nate an upgrade over Springs.
  17. Not much of a surprise that Gray follows Williams again. I'm sure Danny boy is paying him well. I have a very strong hunch that Gregg has his eye on Clements. He was his very first draft pick. Clements already knows his system, and it relies on good corners for man to man and bump and run. The only catch that I see is that the skins are a little tight against the cap. Washington, however, always seems to find a way to make it work. If I were Levy, I would franchise Clements and trade him. Washinton doesn't have a #1 pick, but I'm sure something could be worked out. I give Donahoe credit. He could see the writing on the wall with Peerless to Atlanta and did exactly this. I hope Levy is also sharp enough to see the worth of Clements in a trade.
  18. Ahem.... fellas, It's January. A little early to be having these dreams, isn't it?
  19. Actually, The Bears promoted him to assistant coach and denied permission for the Bills to interview him. I don't think he snubbed the Bills.
  20. Singeltary has the title of Assistant head coach, and I believe SF can deny other teams from interviewing him. The Chicago bears did the same kind of thing with their LB coach, thus Jauron was denied permission to interview him for DC spot.
  21. It's ok, His wife's name is Dick.
  22. I can also recall the New England "boo birds" saying the same thing when he was hired to coach the Patriots, with all the same hand-wringing that's going on with the Bills' fan base right now: "The owner's abandoning the team! We're going to be 1-15 next year!", etc. etc. etc. Boo Birds , therefore, must go cheap cheap cheap..
  23. Can the guy run block? I heard he wasn't that good at that phase of the game.
  24. Everything is speculation. Bates is a big boy now. He doesn't need Sherman to wipe his nose. Who is to even say he wants another gig with Sherman. Buffalo is not the only option for him. I doubt that $$$$ is the only thing he is considering or "mulling over".
  25. Lets see. So far we have new OC and DL coaches. Lets hope they turn out as well as our last SL castoff, Mr April!
