  1. I agree. The media, and fan base for thgat matter, have been downright abusive toward Mularkey. They were the same with Williams, and I fear will be the same with anyone who comes here and doesnt win right off the bat. You have A$$wipes like Sullivan in the media who are always trying to manipulate the bills into making certain moves. Look at his last article pressing for Cotrell for DC. He is a little twit that has an open forum to sling crap and make "Dawgged" suggestions. Buffalo has a single media outlet in The Buffalo News and seldomly is anything uplifting generated from that rinky dink paper. Mularkey was not my choice for coach at the time. I wanted Weis, but that is beside the point. My point is that Buffalo is going to have a hard time selling itself to the top available coaches, and that, my fellow Bills fans, is a real bummer!
  2. A coach who will surround himself with top notch people. I hope Marv will make sure of that. Hopefully Marv can do what Donahoe couldn't, and that is pick the right guy. Unfortionately, there are a bunch of openings this year, and quite frankly, Buffalo is not the most attractive place to live. Guys like Cotrell are an easy hire because nobody is fighting for their services. I hope Levy doesn't go on the cheap and hire the low budget guy to please Ralph.
  3. Without a doubt, Donahoe's biggest fault was his inability to pick the right coach.
  4. Thanks fezmid. That was a trip down memory lane.
  5. Name one good QB named Todd. I rest my case.
  6. aahh yes. I do remember "Joe Cribbs moves" for the five golden rings. Thanks man. I'll sleep better now.
  7. I'm not sure. In fact it might have been the late 70s or early 80s. At the time, Knox had us in a position for the playoffs and the town was in a buzz. The local stations were playing this song often. I remember the last four bars but for the life of me, can't remember the rest. There probably was a line about cribbs and Haslett as well.
  8. The words to the song during the bills playoff /superbowl run in the 1980s. It was sung to the tune of the twelve days of Christmas. I remember a few lines including....Kadish attackin'...Ferguson a passin'...Nickameyer kickin'...on a Chuck Knox superbowl team. I can't remember the other lines. I think there were references to Shane Nelson, Fred Smerlas, Isiaah Robinson and I think Conrad Dobler. Anyone know all the words to the song?
  9. Sure could use Lonnie Johnson.
  10. You forgot to add in the 2 cents for the cost of your analysis. I think that now puts us over the cap.
  11. I have a feeling he will turn things around, but, I'm afraid it will be with another team. If the Bills cut him, I could see him getting picked up by a team like Houston. He would be close to home and blocking for Reggie Bush. If he goes, I would like to see the bills get something for him. This would require a bigger hit to our dead money but if we got something in return, it would ease the pain a little bit. We have some flexibility with our cap so it is possible to work some kind of trade. I hope Levy can pull something off. Donahoe pulled off the Peerless trade, and we were tighter to the cap that year.
  12. Not to be picky, but, the Titan's pick will actually be the 6th pick of round 3. I agree, however, that Donahoe did well to get this pick.
  13. Maybe he would be willing to help Modrak and Levy run the draft. We really dont need all those picks. Do we?
  14. O.K. Mr. Sullivan...Err.. I mean Mr. Firstngoal.
  15. From what I read from Tasker's recent comments, he still has it on the ball. He clearly loves the bills and would have a deep commitment to make them great. Who knows? Maybe he will be a good fit with Modrak. The coaching situation may pan out as well. I don't think Mularkey is dumb. Personally, I'm sick of the meathead quips. Lets get this cleared up. Mike Tice is a meathead, not Mularkey! When it all boils down, there often is not a lot separating the 32 teams in the NFL. We have talent in key areas and are a fairly young team. We have cap room and are in a position to make ourselves a lot better in one off season. I think a lot of the players respect Mularkey and that means something. Lets reserve judgement and see how things turn out. Lets stop listening to the Jerry Sullivans of this world and listen to what ol' Marvie has to say.
  16. To Marv: Where would you rather be than right here, right now?

  18. Didn't we have a PC for the signing of Mike Pucillo?
  19. Ralph Wilson, Marv Levy, Bill Polian, Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, Bennett....Err...wait, Maybe we can do it again with just Wilson and Levy. Hey, We have the nucleus together for another run.
  20. I'm a very virtuous person....... and humble too!
  21. I guess I just don't get it. Modrak essentially ran our drafts and now we promote him? Are we really making much of a change? Who actually decided on picking Roscoe Parrish anyway? Was it Modrak or Donahoe? By keeping MM, are we going to see the same play calling next year? With Miami on the rise and New England returning strong, I just don't see us making any ground. Will free agents want to come to Buffalo with this set up? So many questions and hardly a good answer. I guess it's time to root for the Sabres.
  22. Sorry, I guess I missed that. Several days ago there were several articles reporting his impending departure. Should have double checked on that. I hope Ralph can find a quality talent evaluator. One who will address the lines as a priority!
  23. How about Vermeil as either a consultant or personel man? The guy has some skill building good teams. He has said his coaching days are through but never denied assuming another role. Savage just got canned by the Browns and could fill Donahoe's shoes. Personally, I'd like to see a top notch talent evaluator come to town and hire a guy like Kurk Ferentz from Iowa as the coach. I think he is the best coach available. Please, please, please... NO NFL RETREADS!
  24. Does anyone know the approx. cap hit for Mike Williams if cut in the off season? How about Troy Vincent, Lawyer Malloy, Sam Adams, Bennie Anderson, Eric Moulds? Thanks in advance.
  25. John Clayton and Jerry Sullivan remind me of each other. Two twerps that hate Donahoe. Neither are any good and neither are going to report something positive about the bills.
