  1. Just wondering....What is the over-under on Doug Marrone starting his sentence with the word obviously?
  2. I'm not sure how good of a quarterback he'll be but I think he is the only QB we have had that goes out on hunts and kills wild pigs with nothing but a big old knife.
  3. A F Sea ya later
  4. Bills Champion-ship
  5. I totally tune out when the snotty nosed Mcshay starts talking. Did Toddie boy mention that he had Jevon Snead as a first rounder? The guy went undrafted and never played a down. EJ Manuel has the highest upside of any QB in this draft. He was obviously the bills top QB and in my opinion worth being picked where he was. Both Mel and Toddie boy will look even stupider (if that is possible) when EJ takes hits his stride.
  6. I think you could be right. If not at #9, the Jets could also be picking at #13 if the Revis trade goes down.
  7. I take it you have never lived in the south. It's trained since childhood. It's a sign of respect.
  8. Hmmm.....Now to find a J at TE.
  9. I'm pretty sure we will take a tackle in the middle rounds that can start out at guard. Maybe a guy that could also cover the center position. We obviously need to go QB and WR early and there are good TE prospects into the 3-4th rd. LB is also a need and probably will be addressed after rd. 2 Pugh is a good prospect and obviously well known by our staff but may not make it out of Rd. 2. I wish we had an extra couple picks from rd 2-4 since it's a pretty deep draft class at positions of need. I hope we trade down and select Manuel. I like him in a no huddle/up tempo offense, plenty of arm strength and better accuracy than Geno. Also can run and seems to have good pocket awareness. Besides, who else could we draft that would complete the "Js"? EJ hand off to CJ.....65 yd TD! EJ tosses to FJ out of the backfield... 45 yd score! EJ throws to SJ across the middle...Score! EJ throws deep to TJ...Touchdown!
  10. I agree. TE also a possibility if a good one is sitting there in Rd 3
  11. I think being a little shorter can be overcome better than small hands when it comes to being a QB. Russell Wilson has large hands and moves well to create passing lanes for himself. He also has a great work ethic and pocket awareness. Most of the QBs in this draft are 6'2" or taller which is generally considered tall enough. Accuracy and pocket awareness/poise have to be the most critical criteria when comparing these guys. If you just use the eyeball test then EJ Manuel whould be your guy but is he accurate and does he make good decisions? Barkley is quite accurate for the type of throws we will likely require in Marrone's offense. I would be ok with him but I think he could be had in the 2nd half of rd. 1. Bray kind of scares me due to what is between his ears. Someone on this board mentioned that he has athe maturity level and personality of a young JP Losman and I tend to agree. Wilson, to his credit, does seem to have good pocket awareness. I watched a Youtube clip of him after getting thumped by Alabama and it turned me off as to his maturity and leadership. He kept repeating that this sucked and that sucked..yada yada yada. Not really the face of the franchise type. The big lanky tall drink of water from NC state is not a young Flacco when it comes to making decisions. I think in today's NFL you want a little mobility and he is not going to be able to move when the pocket breaks down. I'm not totally sure why I don't really like Geno Smith. I guess if I had the choice, I would take Manuel over him if I wanted an athletic guy to run a read option type offense. Landry Jones....not my cup of tea. Matt Scott I like a lot but he will take some developing. I, like many on this board, hope we trade down and get some picks then take a QB later in round 1 or early in rd 2 depending on how things fall. If no QBs go early, teams picking at the top of rd 2 will certainly be shopping at that point. I think if Milliner or Lane Johnson are there at #8, there will be interest from teams in the 11-18 range that may want to trade up. If Jordan falls to #8, I say pick him. Wouldn't that just get the Jets panties in a wad. Mingo looks the part but one analyst pointed out how he is often near the play but not the one actually making it. He will lead the league in butt slaps and high fives after the play is over. Back to the QB choice. I hope Nix goes with a consensus of his scouts, Whaley, and the guys that will be coaching him, namely Marrone and Hackett. Too big of a decision to fly solo on this one.
  12. So who has the best arms in the draft? Glennon has a good arm but seems like a big drink of water stiff who can't move. Manuel has a good arm but I'm not sure how long it will take for him to master a new offense. Barkley, Wilson, an Nassib are similar physically. The guy I like is Matt Scott. Good arm strength with a quick release and way more athletic the last three mentioned. I'm not a big Geno Smith fan, although he has a decent arm, just not elite.
  13. Hard to understand why the bills were not there yet they plan to bring him in for a predraft visit. I saw Whaley at Glennon's pro day. Are we sure he was there?
  14. Geno Smith is not the best QB prospect in the draft. He has slow eyes. Let someone else spend a top ten pick on him. If the bills see what they want to see on Wednesday with Barkley, then I could live with him being the pick. He is more ready to start from day one than any of the others.
  15. Didn't we learn our lesson from "Lights out"?
  16. I'll take a wild guess...... Marcus Lattimore will be coming to Buffalo for a pre draft interview.
  17. Listening to Nix on WGR on 12/14/12 he talked about moving up a round to get a QB. I'm thinking they are not looking at #8 as much as moving back into the late round 1 or early round 2 range to get a targeted QB. if that's the case, looking forward to your feline foto.
  18. Watch some other videos. He can make longer throws but is very good on the intermediate ones.
  19. Your joking. Right? Nothing about Matt Scott reminds me of Fitzpatrick. Scott is very athletic, accurate, has a very quick release and a stronger arm. He is both fast and quick and decisive with the ball. He is a true dual threat. He throws a nice spiral, usually hits his receivers in stride and has actually played some good teams in college (Oregon, Stanford, USC to name a few) and won a bowl game in dramatic comeback fashion. He has a normal sized head, his beard is trimmed, he is not of a fair complexion. Now, what exactly reminds you of Fitzpatrick? Matt Scott on a bad day is way more accurate than Tebow on a good one.
  20. True. Point taken. I would rather have the top OT plus Alex Smith as opposed to Geno Smith and a second round OT. I guess my point is that nobody thinks Geno Smith is worth the first overall pick in the draft and since we don't have picks to spare, making that trade would be madness.
  21. Trade up to #1? Are you out of your friggin mind? This is Geno Smith we are talking about, not Andrew Luck. Kansas City felt that he wasn't as good as Alex Smith, so that says something right there. I don't want him even at #8, I'm hoping he is already gone by then. Trade down, pick up some picks and get a QB later in round 1 or at the top of round 2. If Lane Johnson makes it to pick #8, there will be trade down options.
  22. Agree. If Lane Johnson is still on the board at #8, there will be teams trying to move up to get him. San Diego, St. Louis to name two, unless Jake Long signs with them. Miami could also seek to move up, but unless the offer were way above the others, I think you don't trade with division foes. Cincy could also lose there tackle and may seek to move up. They have the picks to do so. We really need more picks. C. Patterson could still be there in the 11-16 range. QBs may still be there later in the round. I think Matt Scott will be a bargain for somebody.
  23. Smart teams replace their losses by other means than free agency ( cut players, draft, trades etc.) Watch Baltimore get like a zillion picks next year for their losses this year. Have they signed a free agent? The Bills never seem to get much in the way of comp picks
  24. Buddy needs to do two things this draft. Trade down and get some picks. Take at least 1 qb early and a 2nd one later to increase your odds that we hit on at least one of them. I'll be bummed if we take a qb at #8, even if it is Geno. Personally, E J Manuel and Matt Scott would be the two I would target.
  25. I'm going on record that he will be the best of the 2013 QB class. Better than Geno, Better than the other Matt, Better than Manuel. Tell me which QB in this class has the best accuracy? Who has one of the strongest arms and throws a nice spiral to get through the buffalo wind? Which one has the quickest Dan Marino like release? Who has the quickest feet and is the most sudden of the group? Tops in agility testing at the combine? Who was a quick study, learning two different offensive systems? Out of all the QB prospects in this draft, which one would likely be a top pick next year if he had another year to play? Who has great upside? Which QB puked his guts out on the field and kept on playing, throwing a TD a few plays later? Buffalo kind of tough! Who was told to add weight so he went out and added 20lbs of good weight? Which QB did Rich Rodriguez say had an arm equal to or better than any QB he ever coached or coached against? I'm sorry but I just cant get excited about Matt Barkley. What you see now is the best this guy is going to be. I want a guy that Marone and Hackett can turn into something special. To me he looks almost as quick as Kaepernick coming out of school with a similar live arm, but probably more accurate. He is 6'2.5" which is tall enough. The more I read and watch video on this guy, the more I like him above all the others. This guy was under the radar but now teams are starting to see the special qualities in this guy. An excellent runner, yes. But also a very accurate passer with a strong arm and a quick release. Thought to be a mid round pick earlier this year, he is climbing quickly up draft boards. Chip Kelly in Philly and the new QB coach in Jacksonville love this guy. Thankfully, the Bills have also been listed as a team that likes him. I think he is going to come off the board much sooner than most of the draft gurus predict. I doubt very highly that he makes it through the mid second round, especially since he now weighs in the 215-220 range.
