  1. They were fired for giving up their texts, not for their participation in the "manufactured scandal."
  2. I don't understand all the excitement over this news. Just because he's softening his cap hit this year doesn't mean he's taking a pay cut. It means we're committing more years to a rb with a lot of miles on him.
  3. That production will go poof behind our offensive line of 2014.
  4. Umh...it was a 47 yarder on grass. I feel for Norwood because it should have been a 37 yard or closer but for terrible clock management on that last drive. I can't watch video of the drive because I want to yell at Kelly to spike the damned ball and save some clock!!!
  5. Bills fans ridiculing the Browns?? When was the last time we made the playoffs?
  6. I agree. Belichick's comment about using "wet, sticky, cold, slippery" balls in practice confused me as it didn't quite fit into the context of the topic being addressed. Now I believe it was his slick way of preempting this statistical improbability that would eventually come to light. Chris "Mad Dog" Russo said on his Sirius show that Belichick's son was the equipment manager. I can't verify that, but his son is listed as a coaching assistant on their website and no equipment manager is listed.
  7. I really loved when I saw him doing his specialty--fumbling out of the endzone to lose the game against the Chiefs.
  8. According to the CBA, a rookie contract can be renegotiated after the third year. I can see a scenario in which EJ is the starter and has an average season. The defense leads the team to the playoffs. Knowing he has the Bills over a barrel, Parker will advise EJ not to attend any off season workouts until he has a contract commensurate with a playoff caliber qb.
  9. Yeah, and we got beat by two of them!!
  10. I'm sure he's not forcing EJ on anybody. But if the chatter is true that he speaks of him in glowing terms, that would be enough to scare off a coach who is wary of potential future conflicts.
  11. That will be an issue for any potential coach, especially if Whaley is speaking "glowingly" about EJ. I can't see many coaches wanting to be saddled with a, as to now, bust for a starting qb favored by the GM.
  12. Yeah, that one pick will trump the fact that the Bills have one of the top defenses in the league.
  13. Ha ha!! With his inept o-line this past season, who would entrust him with their offensive line??
  14. I hear that marrone stormed out of a room when he heard this news.
  15. How about just reporting on the multiple scandals of the current administration?? Yeah, I didn't think so. You are one of the dwindling few who still believe the NYT has journalistic standards simply because you share their views.
  16. I'll bet they had a conference call with the ESPN Sports Science guy whose calculations said that EJ had great accuracy and was a budding superstar. I tend to place the blame on Nix who said he was going to find a "franchise qb" before he left. It's like a guy going out for the night and saying he's gonna find his dream girl. It's around 2 am and he turns to the fat girl at the end of the bar and convinces himself that she looks awfully pretty.
  17. I foresee a bidding war!!
  18. Schefter is on NFL channel on Sirius, says there would be a great demand for him with all the hc openings. Says it's not a foregone conclusion that he doesn't opt out. It is speculation, but I wish we could be so lucky.
  19. Players are adjusting and going low as Reggie Nelson's did to Le'veon Bell last night. This is really getting stupid.
  20. Marrone has had little to do with the defense except for naming a defensive coordinator. Any football fan could have told you that Pettine and Schwartz were good defensive coaches. Marrone is the de facto offensive coordinator and also had a hand in the debacle that was drafting Manuel in the first round. As for the offensive line troubles, Marrone benched an experienced left guard in Urbik in favor of starting a rookie, thus destroying any continuity the line had from last season. For his role, Marrone led the 29th best offense in the league. Congrats.
  21. Hackett needs to be demoted to quality control. Play calling needs to be taken from Marrone and put in the hands of a real OC.
  22. Russ is the straw dog in this debate. He had Ralph's trust and played an important role as a firewall between the football people and Ralph. He convinced Ralph to go along with good decisions such as the Mario Williams signing and deferred to the football people to make decisions concerning the draft, personnel, etc. That being said, I believe he should stay, but be involved only in the marketing side of things. As for Polian, second acts never seem to work out. Polian is a very polarizing type which may cause problems with Whaley and the things that ARE going right with the organization.
  23. The ONLY common denominator over the past fifteen years of the franchise has been Ralph. He has had the last word (and oftentimes the first) on every significant decision made by the franchise. The fact that Wilson and his parasites are no longer involved with the Bills organization gives me hope for the future.
  24. How about, "Don't confuse effort with results." We're not, Dougie!!
