If you are cutting Hamlin, do it now...
Brand J replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Damar cannot play the run. I have visions of Derek Henry, Jonathan Taylor, and Breece Hall moving past him like he was stuck in mud. Only Rapp cleaned up the Hall mistakes (after a chunk of yardage given up). Every time in these instances Hamlin was there but couldn’t affect the play. -
Far superior? If Mitch is better it’s marginal. I think they both suck and the team needs to make a real attempt at finding a legitimate backup QB. Josh needs his Frank Reich v2.0 It’s not only about making the preseason watchable, but also about being fair to the pass catchers who are trying to get evaluated. Bad QB play affects the OL and the WRs/TEs.

This is only true if our starting QB is Shane Buechele. The roster isn’t devoid of talent, not to mention we play in the weak AFC LEast. -

It was… massively disappointing… that he looked like a liability among backups. I’ll give Cole Bishop a little more leeway as he was just getting back into the swing of things, but with Hamlin, there’s no excuse. -

I heard a bunch of whispers that Malaki Starks was going to be the pick… until the Ravens snatched him ahead of us. Nick Emmanwori, I’m not sure he was ever in consideration but reports are he’s looking as advertised so far. We were really counting on Cole Bishop to take a step forward in his second year, but he keeps missing valuable reps. He‘ll have to get better in season. Glad Beane failed in his attempt to trade up for him or the pick would sting a little more. -
Just went to check on that athletic freak safety (Nick Emmanwori) to see how he was doing in Seahawks camp and apparently he’s not only been one of their more consistent starters, but he’s been one of the stars of the team. The coach described him as a “fun player to coach.”

Hope we’re in the meeting room with Hard Knocks when the show airs. I’d like to see McD ripping into some guys. Since the Bills are drama averse, we probably won’t get that. -

That score and embarrassing performance IS a reflection on Beane and the coaching staff. -

There’s levels to this. If you’re a backup who hopes to play in a rotation or even challenge for a starting role, you HAVE TO stand out amongst other backups. You have to look like the best player on the field. None of these guys have flashed in that way BUT I will give props to Michael Hoecht, Dorian Williams, Jordan Hancock, and Tyrell Shavers for showing up a little bit. Anyone I’m missing? -

Looks like a complete waste of a 3rd round pick. It’s telling he’s playing amongst some guys who won’t even make the PS. -

Ulofoshio looks as lost as Tremaine Edmunds used to look. Zero awareness of receivers coming into his area. -

No with our secondary. -

And it’s not fair for evaluation purposes when you have a backup who can’t run the offense. Bad QB’ing makes the line look worse and neuters pass catchers. Get a competent backup, Beane. -

Hoecht had a sack on 4th down that led to a missed Bills FG. In other news: Bills HAVE GOT to find a competent backup QB. I’d take a Gardner Minshew/Tyler Bagent/Jameis Winston type. Done with White and Trubisky, they both suck. -

Their defense will be demonstrably worse without Lou Anarumo and they were already a dumpster fire. #32 in the league, #30 at best. -
They could make it work if they really wanted to, but it would def mean clearing a couple bad contracts off the books - Samuel, Knox - and trading Rousseau in the package.

Went to three when they added a 17th regular season game. -
Think they missed Fitzmagic to TO - 99 yards. EDIT: never mind that was at Jacksonville. Dunno why I thought that was in Buffalo.
-
I think barring injuries, the Bills, Chiefs, and Ravens will be 1-3 in some order. Of course it’s not guaranteed, but I can’t see some other AFC team (the Texans?) surpassing the top 3. Going off the assumption and hope that all will be relatively healthy, I’d bet real money the 1 seed avoids having to play the other two. Bills are the only one of the three not to have had the 1 seed.
-
Bills NEED the 1 seed this year more than any other. Let the Chiefs and Ravens battle it out in the divisional for the right to meet Buffalo - in Buffalo - for their final game ever at Rich/Ralph Wilson/Highmark stadium.

No, I don’t know much about the Bears, but do see a lot of complaining about their tackle situation. Their HC says LT in particular needs to resolve itself soon. I remember hearing the name Darnell Wright as a promising prospect so I looked him up: reports are that he’s regressed at RT and the three vying for LT (Braxton Jones, Ozzy Trapilo, and Theo Benedet) have all been underwhelming. Supposedly they were abused by Groot and Bosa today too.
-
Chicago should’ve taken one of those LTs that went in the first round instead of a TE. Bad GM’ing if their tackle situation is that awful.
-
For anyone keeping tabs, CB Trey Amos has reportedly been “lights out” in camp and is likely to start for the Commies. I know there was a lot of back and forth between him, Hairston, and the Michigan corner, who’s also looking good.

Did you see the play? Others are saying it was Rapp who got beat, but in any case both starting safeties were there for practice today. -
Rapp might be the slowest starting safety in the league but generally takes good angles. It’s good for these things to happen in practice, would be less beneficial for the defense if the Bears offense didn’t make any plays.
