  1. I tihnk you nailed it with this post. Excellent. I'm still trying to figure out and why Big Cat is trying to spin a large number of long rushes by Spiller into a negative.
  2. Well, with Stevie gone, it didn't take you very long to irrationally latch on to a new whipping boy.
  3. He's a Miami hurricane. The team uses mugshots in their media guide. Why bother taking new pictures of players when the local precinct has them all on file?
  4. how is Doug Whaley going to sit there and say we need to win NOW and then go and trade Stevie for a pick NEXT year?
  5. Taylor Lewan. I will also not be happy if the Bills trade up and have to give up a 2015 #1.
  6. To everyone claiming the Bills"have too many holes to move up," just because you believe that doesnt mean the Bills believe it. Also, theres something to be said about acquiring superstars as opposed to just "starters." This team has lacked star power for a long time.
  7. All is well. Thanks. Hope all is well with you and your family. I think the Bills will pay for Glenn because they value OTs higher than OGs.They let Levitre go because they dont think OGs are worth a premium price. But i would bet they do their all to keep Glenn, especially considering he's a rising star. And i think we do need an RT, just not in round 1. there should be good prospects in rounds 2 or 3 that could come in and start. That being said, i certainly wouldn't have an issue if Matthews fell to them at 9. Him or Robinson, i'm ok with.
  8. QB yes. OL, no. There are countless examples of teams with average lines that perform that make the playoffs and go far, including last year's Super Bowl Champs. Not to mention the Bills OL has 2 1sts, a 2nd, and a 3rd rounder starting on it. That's an awful lot of early round picks. You always take BPA (within reason). BPA isnt a "luxury." In today's NFL, you need the skill players to be able to be active in the passing game and to score. Focusing on strictly OL is antiquated and myopic, especially when you're talking about a RT. LT, sure, but RT, no. Many of us believe that you can find a decent RT in round 2 or 3, which would suit this team fine. We believe we need to upgrade at RT, just not at pick #9. You are holding on to this odd belief that nothing is as important as the OL, which is completely untrue. As for McKelvin etc, i could care less if they "live up to their draft slot." All i care about is how they perform on the field. If they are good players (which all 3 of them are), then that's what matters. You win football by amassing total talent, not relative talent compared to draft position. I know you jest, but the numbers say that on the majority of defensive downs, you are playing 5 or 6 DBs on the field. That's equal to or more than the number of OL on the field on offensive downs. I fail to see why teams should completely ignore DBs on draft day when 25% of your total starters are DBs. Note: i don't believe nor do i think that the Bills need to spend a high pick on a DB this year. I like our top 3-4 CBs as well as AW23. Add a DB in rounds 5-7, but not early.
  9. How many more threads are you going to start about your pie-in-the-sky hope that the Bills draft Manziel? They aren't going to do it. If they go up to 3, its for Clowney, Watkins, or Robinson. Probably in that order.
  10. So drafting good players isnt a good way to build the team? Instead if disguising it, just own the fact that you always have, and always will believe that any first round pick on a player < 270 lbs is "squandering precious resources" and "not a way to build a team."
  11. This wouldn't be surprising. The best thing for the league is to not have the team floating in "limbo" for a few years. They probably want (ideally) to get someone in place and essentially have next offseason as the "starting point." One question i do have is that if the sale goes through and is approved in October, does the new owner get full or partial credit for our Super Bowl victory?
  12. EJ is the background/wallpaper on buffalobills.com so that alone should tell you their thoughts on him and answer the question as to whether Whaley might be secretly considering a QB in round 1.
  13. For the record, Winston has been suspended from the baseball team (hes our closer) until he completes his community service. I dont know what else the school is supposed to do. They treated it same as any other citation. A felony charge is the only crime that is grounds for an immediate and indefinite suspension, per school rules.
  14. Word is that ACC teams are interviewing the Publix manager as a potential DC.
  15. Kelly, theres 1 inconsistency in your argument. If Martin projects to be very good and very versatile, why would he be easy to re-sign in 4 years? If hes that great hes going to want just as big of a contract as the others.
  16. Martin at #9 would be supremely disappointing next Thursday. About as bad a pick as you could get.
  17. Before making any rash judgements, please read FSU's response to the Times article. The Times article contained deception, falsehoods, deliberate omission of important facts, and flat out lies. http://fsunytimes.fsu.edu/
  18. Agreed. This event is really no big deal to me. But with what's gone on, he needs to avoid any and all negative press, no matter how small. He's always had that brash cockiness, but stupid stuff like this smacks of crossing the line from cockiness to arrogance. You saw a bit of it on the field at the latter parts of the season. He would hold the ball too long always looking for the big play instead of checking down and taking what was given to him.
  19. As an FSU fan, he made a dumbass kid move. But the puns and photoshop jobs have been phenomenal. Keep up the great work!
  20. It could be the 49ers. I think they're primed to make a big move to put them over the top. They certainly have the ammo to move way up the draft into the top 5.
  21. Can we stop with the "Stevie is paid like a top WR" nonsense? Top WRs are getting $11-12+ million per year on average. Stevies deal averages 7.5 mil per year. Not in the same ballpark.
  22. For all of the supposed "great" first round picks this board would recommend, what about the dozens and dozens of players that the board insists are "great value" in rounds 2 and 3, but actually get drafted in rounds 6-7 or are UDFAs? And what about guys like Owen Schmidtt?
  23. The article blatantly misrepresented and in some instances, flat out lied regarding the university's reaction. Here's the official response to that piece of biased journalism. http://fsunytimes.fsu.edu Just because TPD handled the case poorly doesn't make that article less ridiculous.
  24. Don't take fat guys in the top 10. Take a playmaker.
  25. As an FSU alum still here in Tallahassee, i've been addressing this fallacy all off-season. It comes down to 2 points. 1. Jameis is a much better QB than EJ. At the collegiate level, Winston has the look of a once-in-a-generation QB. He's been our best one since Charlie Ward. 2. The 2013 Noles were markedly different (and better) than the 2012 Noles. The defense was a ton better, the OL was better, the running game was better, and the skill positions were better. The team was very different in 2013, for a wide variety of reasons.
