Ty Dunne: Motor can lift Bills to super bowl
Coach Tuesday replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That article is nice and all but it just assumes its conclusion. He's going to get the Bills to the Super Bowl because he doesn't shy away from the drop that might've cost the Bills a chance at the Super Bowl? (Never mind Mahomes' 75% completion percentage rout?!) I mean great, but what is he doing to improve his game besides watching videos of his screwup? And by the way he has done that before - Motor has a knack for fumbling or dropping the ball at critical moments in critical games. Is he speed training? Working with the JUGS machine? Diving into the X's and O's of the Bills' blocking schemes? Simply owning a mistake doesn't guarantee you'll get better. -
Call your shot: Who will the Bills pick in the 1st round?

The right wing troll army took over PPP several years ago and it’s become a real cesspool. That said, I didn’t think Bandit got caught up in those convos. Could be wrong. -
McShay- Bills trying to move up above 23 for Etienne

What’s rare is to hit on a first round RB who makes it to his second contract. -
The Great Tremaine Edmunds Debate
Coach Tuesday replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amazingly, the Bills could solve all of their problems on defense for the cost of one third round pick! Draft Peter Werner from OSU and by mid-season he’ll be able to man the Mike spot. There’s your instinctive thumper in the middle. Meanwhile you move Edmunds outside and he becomes a 12-15 sack guy. Boom. Not that they have the stones to do it but it would work. -

Seriously doubt Basham has the football character they look for. He’s widely seen as underachieving and entitled - not their type of player. All of this reminds me - where the &$@$” is @thebandit27 ? I miss his annual predictions. -

Super high football character and can play any receiver position. He’s this year’s Justin Jefferson and he might be the guy Beane is targeting with a slight move up. -

Peter King Mock- Bills take Etienne

How many punts did we force? How many times did Mahomes have to even look to his second read? The dropped screen wasn't even close to pivotal in that game. It was a rout - they didn't defend anything the Chiefs did. A screen pass to a running back would not have put the Bills in the Super Bowl. Please. -

LOL. If they actually spend MORE than a single first round pick on Etienne... my hope is that Etienne is a smokescreen and they're moving up for a corner or Phillips.- 413 replies

The Great Tremaine Edmunds Debate
Coach Tuesday replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to nitpick but he was chosen at 16. Not sure this changes your position but it's worth pointing out, especially because (i) the Bills spent assets to trade up for him; and (ii) there were better LBs taken after him. -
Peter King Mock- Bills take Etienne
Coach Tuesday replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills did and do “score enough” to keep up with KC. What you’re really talking about is being able to score faster - and a running back doesn’t help there. To the contrary, most teams feature running backs to help them score more slowly! The goal is to keep the other team’s offense off the field. Which is a fine strategy at times - but it doesn’t require an elite talent at RB, just a good overall running scheme and blocking. Frankly I cannot believe some of the arguments I’m reading here in favor of taking a running back at 30 with Moss and Motor on the roster already, in a passing offense, for a team with other needs at premium positions. I’m flabbergasted. -

Tie goes to the premium position. EDGE, LT, CB, WR. -

Promo, I am indeed here to tell you the Chiefs don't need Edwards-Helaire. Want proof? They barely used him last year and almost won the Super Bowl. As For Kamara, (i) he was not a first round pick; and (ii) he's far better than Etiene. -

You just explained why they should NOT take a running back in round 1! Their offense doesn’t require an elite rusher. So either they’re wasting a high pick on a guy they don’t need, or they’re going to re-jigger the offense to feature a running back. Either one of those paths would be laughably stupid! CB is a perfectly sensible pick. Elijah Moore I could get talked into. Eichenberg if he lasts (tho I suspect Indy takes him first). Rousseau, Paye, Tryon if they think they can mold the clay there. -

There is NO WAY they’re giving a rookie RB on the smaller side 18-22 touches per game in Daboll’s offense. It just isn’t going to happen, not in 2021 and even afterwards, not unless they tweak the offense and trade Motor or Moss. I just don’t get this thinking at all. Where would those touches be coming from? He’s not a “bell cow” back and he doesn’t pass block. Are you taking the ball out of Allen’s hands to feed Etiene? If so you’re committing coaching malpractice. Realistically, if they take Etiene at 30 and don’t trade/release Motor or Moss, we’re talking 5-10 touches per game MAX in 2021 and that’s probably including KR duties. Again, not a good ROI for a first round pick. -
The Bills waive their first round pick because Beane’s Zoom is on mute and the clock runs out.

What percentage of the offense would he achieve in 2021? 5-10%? Maybe? They could replicate that production with Breida and a UDFA. Would be a total waste of a first round pick. -

Sounds like JP might’ve mastered the short passing game if the coaches could’ve done a better job explaining to him how it fit strategically into what they were trying to accomplish. -

Based on that article, there is zero reason it couldn’t have worked out differently for him with better coaching. He’s clearly a student of the game - “all ball” - and had the tools to be great. His floor, with proper coaching, should’ve been Jake Plummer. Again, Ralph kept the Bills in Buffalo and for that we should be duly thankful. But he was a real PoS. Wyche was well past his prime by then. -

Great article and he’s completely different from how he was portrayed here. Never got a fair shake. The quote about him getting blitzed relentlessly as a rookie in practice was really interesting. And then there’s that nugget about whispers that he was benched for Trent Edwards at Wilson’s directive so as to not have to pay the bonus. Ralph was a terrible owner - so many careers crashed and drowned on the rocks of his stewardship. Read the article.- 97 replies
