On a simpler level - they build this D to stop the pass, and kept investing that way while other teams were switching to go physical and big against nickel fronts. The Patriots are succeeding with tons of TEs and a power running game. The entire concept of the Bills’ build was flawed, or at least it became flawed and they didn’t adjust.

With the amount of money and draft picks invested in the d-line, and the defense generally, they have precious little to show for it when it’s time to man up and beat a physical offense.

As bad as it is when the GM and coach aren’t in sync, it also can become dysfunctional when the GM and coach have too much faith in each other. Beane surely thought his coaches would overcome the glaring weaknesses on the roster and largely sat on his hands and re-signed their own players instead of upgrading the roster and patching the holes. A little tension between the coaches and the GM can help move things forward.

Again: all of the problems in the roster that were obvious to everyone with a brain are displaying themselves today. McKenzie should never have been the answer at returner. The guards are terrible. The d-line is soft. This was all apparent in April and again in October and the FO did next to nothing about it.

Shocking that those problems that were obvious in April haven’t magically gone away.

The Colts are not in THE LEAST afraid of our defense.

Oddly they seem more careful with soft tissue injuries than bone-related maladies. They almost ALWAYS err on the side of shutting the player down if it’s a muscle thing.

This team is soooooo cautious with injuries it’s like a horse hospital.

This. All about holding the Colts to field goals. Do that and this is a very winnable game.

This is the Colts' Super Bowl, they HAVE to win this game to stay in the hunt, plus they'll still be salty from last year's playoff loss. Bills will need to bring their A-game for sure. Can't sleepwalk through entire halves on offense this week.

The Jets took Darnold over Allen and Q Williams over Oliver - I like Q but Oliver almost single-handedly wrecked the Jets’ offense today. Can’t be fun being a Jets fan right now.
