  1. The Fred Jackson ship has SAILED. Let it go! As for #22 - he's not Thurman Thomas. I respect Fred and he gave us some good years. But in no way was he a "retire the number" player. I'm not even sure he's 'Wall of Fame' material. He made something out of nothing. But he never had the quickness and shiftiness that Reggie Bush has. Even at the age Reggie is now. If he went to Seattle last year and managed to play well, i'd understand. But he proved Whaley's point. Marshawn was hurt and Fred still slid down the depth chart. He's done. The team was done with him well over a year ago. Move on. Are you a fan of the Buffalo Bills or just a fan of Fred Jackson?
  2. Yeah, Dwight Freeney's at the top of my list too. He showed he still has some gas left in the tank last season. He may be getting long in the tooth, but we just need 6 games out of him. He'd be a great mentor to Shaq and Jerry. And last I heard - he said on ESPN he just wants a chance anywhere. I imagine he'd be someone that wouldn't want a whole training camp. So maybe he's someone we look at down the road.
  3. Not doing their homework? They claimed him on Waivers! Are you suggesting they should call the player up and ask if they'd like to play for us? I don't even think that's legal.
  4. This is the second time they've drafted a player with injury concerns that their staff "signed off on". What the hell is wrong with our medical staff? Or is Whaley just gambling and losing too often?
  5. I'd love to see Vernon Adams Jr. or Trevone Boykin for a 4th camp arm.
  6. Huh? He went Undrafted.
  7. Damn - Tennessee must have REALLY been sure about Mariota. I don't know what's worse: offering that deal or turning it down.
  8. Jim Dray, Robert Blanton, and Deonte Thompson is not what I had in mind when DW said "dust settles" secondary market guys. I know we have very little spending money. And I don't require "i've heard of him!" for everyone we bring in. But these seem like "Futures" contract guys.
  9. Lol DeSean Jackson seems more annoyed about the incident question than Shady does.
  10. Good for both of them. I hope Schwartz and Phili sign them both.
  11. I forgot about the Cleveland Browns. He'd be a fit there. There's so many teams that need a starter or bridge gap QB.
  12. Would not at all shock me to see him go back to the Texans or Rams. I could also see him going to Denver if they can't get Brock back. Either way, good on Fitz for looking at his market. With how bad some teams need QB's - he'd be doing himself a disservice not to.
  13. Yesssssss!! Richie's back!! Now prove me wrong and get Jahri Evans too
  14. Brock is a total roll of the dice. You're paying big for a guy based on college tape and 4 years of holding Peyton Manning's clipboard. He's played a little here and there. Sometimes good - sometimes bad. But not enough to say he's a finished product either way. He's someone you go after if you're nowhere at QB and hope it pans out. Reminds me of Rob Johnson in a way.
  15. Trust me - I'd LOVE to be wrong. If we could land Richie Incognito AND Jahri Evans with our current restraints, I'd be dancing in the streets! Going into today, a good offer was thought to be in the 4.5 range or so. Osemele just signed for 11.7 a year. Richie is much older, yes. But he played at a Pro Bowl level last year. All agents base their deals on the latest handed out by position. Even asking for half of Osemele's deal is close to 6 million a year. EDIT: So he signed for $5 mil a year. He must not have had as big of a market as I feared/he hoped.
  16. Because that's how Agents work? If the ceiling rises - so does the floor.
  17. No - but Osemele's deal will raise everyone else's at Guard. If Osemele is worth 11 Mil a year, Richie's worth a whole helluva lot more than the initial 4 million estimation.
  18. @Rand_Getlin: Osemele's market was incredibly hot. When the deal is announced, it'll blow the top off of the OG market. Huge get for the #Raiders. THAT is why Richie is testing the market. That's also why the idea of signing Richie AND Jahri is a pipe dream.
  19. Not bringing back Stefan Charles because we're really tight and had to choose between him and Corbin Bryant - I understand. Bringing back Jordan Mills because he's an Offensive Tackle and we're in dire need of them - I understand. Bringing back #3 WR (at best) Chris Hogan instead of Bacarri Rambo when he could have easily been replaced by either Greg Salas, Jarrett Boykin, or Greg Little - I'll never understand. Especially considering how tight financially they are.
  20. Evans is a 6 time Pro Bowler who was let go for refusing to come down from his $3+ Million a year deal. He's not going to come cheap. And we know Richie's contract's going to be bigger. I really think the idea of Jahri AND Richie is a pipe dream. It's one or the other.
  21. As much as I'd love for that to be true - I don't think that's the case. Jahri Evans was released for refusing to take a pay cut from the Saints. I don't think we could swing both financially.
  22. I was worried about this. We got a discount on him last year and we were rewarded for it with Pro Bowl play. He doesn't owe us anything more. Expecting to get him for less than market value was a pipe dream.
  23. Tyrod is a middle of the road NFL QB right now. And a middle of the road NFL QB (in today's NFL) will get you to right about where they're going to end up. 8-8, 9-7; just short of the playoffs. He's certainly the best option we have right now. But I hope they keep their eyes open this offseason.
