With the way Denney played and with Hargrove emerging, I don't think it would be the end of the world if he wasn't retained. But I think calling him our 4th best DE is pushing it. He is the #2 DE on our team, luckily the other two aren't far behind.

How about Travis Henry? He plead no contest to a sexual charge with a 15 year old and was suspended for marijuana use after we traded him.

I really think Jeff Samardzija from Notre Dame is the perfect fit for Buffalo. He's a BIG, strong, physical WR that doesn't rely on speed but gets the job done anyways. However, he is a two sport guy and seems intent on playing both Baseball (for the Chicago Cubs) and NFL football. Combine this with the fact that it's a VERY deep WR class and Samardzija; a guy with 1st Round talent, may fall as late as the 3rd Round. Given these circumstances what are your thoughts of Jeff Samardzija lineing up with Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish?

I'm a big fan of Rice personally. He's the #4 WR on my board behind Johnson, Jarrett, and Ginn. I think he'd be a good fit for Buffalo as the #2 WR. Since this is a deep WR class, 1st Round talent like Rice may be available in the 2nd. A big concern with him is that he only played 2 years of college ball.

Neither, I don't see how either of them are much of an upgrade from the "Price/Reed/Davis: #3 WR's battling for a #2 position connection".

We'd be lucky to get a 3rd for him with his performance this year, attitude, and injury history.

- I know we traded our 5th for Hargrove, but where's our 4th? - I don't think Holcomb returns next season. I believe we'll be drafting a QB in the later rounds to back up Losman and Nall. Holcomb always seemed to be an insurance policy if Losman didn't work out. Now that he's the man, Holcomb's expendable. - Hollis Thomas was just suspended for Steroids. I don't know if that's something the Bills want. - Melvin Fowler has been solid. There's no reason to replace him. - I like Floyd Womack. But I think RT is more of a need than RG is. - There's NO WAY Donte Stallworth leaves Philly. I highly doubt they traded for him and made him their premier WR just to let him walk after one season. If he did walk, i'd doubt he'd leave a better team where he was the #1 WR to come here and be #2. I hadn't heard he was a FA in the first place.

Good because now all the genius draftniks out there will not have us taking him Bad because I do think we will be taking a QB in the later rounds. Brohm coming out could have pushed a better player to us.

I think they're equal as far as talent and cost. A-Train's been here and done a good job in mop up duty. Signing Shipp in his place wouldn't make much sense unless Thomas decided to sign elsewhere. I think it's best that we just agree to disagree on Crayton. I think calling him better than Bennett is just plain silly. Crayton is halfway decent, but it certainly has more to do with the fact that all the secondary attention is going towards T.O. and Terry Glenn. Put him in a bigger role on a team with an inferior WR core and I don't think he does squat.

I'm definitely digging your draft. The first few rounds are exactly like my mock. However, you do have a few puzzling things: - Why would we spend the money on Marcel Shipp if we have both Willis McGahee and Marshawn Lynch in the backfield? Not to mention, A-Train is still under contract (I believe) and is better than Shipp IMO - Patrick Crayton as our #2? I don't see it. He's no better than 3rd or 4th on Dallas' depth chart and isn't much of an upgrade (if any at all) over Peerless Price, Josh Reed, or Andre' Davis. If we're going to move Peerless out of the #2 spot, it needs to be for someone more like Drew Bennett or a 1st day draftee. - I think Duke Preston is solid at RG. If you're going to change anything on the OL, it needs to start with Terrance Pennington.

I don't like the idea of picking Okoye. He had an average-good college career. The intriguing thing about him is his upside. He could be something really special or he could be a flop. Either way, he's VERY green and it would take some time before he starts making a big impact. He's a project and I don't like drafting projects. Especially when we already have a bunch of them in the middle. I think DT is something that shouldn't be addressed in the First Round unless Alan Branch is there. I'm honestly more interested in seeing if DeMarcus Tyler will be there in Round 2 (most assume he will be picked after Branch, Okoye, and Quinn Pitcock). I think it would give him and McCargo a better chance to flourish together just as they did in college.

While I agree with you, i'd imagine it's a little soon to annoint him the next Marshall Faulk. That being said he is faster, more decisive, runs harder, and is a better reciever than Willis is. The lack of a run game REALLY killed us this year and I think Marshawn would fix that problem. I realize we have other needs but we'd still have some high first day picks left even if we picked Lynch. Not to mention, a lot of FA money and a lack of experience at most of our needs positions.

First problem with this concept is that Antonio Pittman is not a Senior nor has he declared for the draft. I'd be surprised if he did because it's a pretty strong RB class as is and I don't think he'd be a very high pick. Second, we wouldn't get shite for Willis. His injury history is legendary, he only has one year left on his deal, and he hasn't been playing that well. You keep Willis and make him apologize for his idiocy. You draft Marshawn Lynch at 12 and let them share the load in '07. Then don't let the door hit Willis' ass on the way out when his contract expires.

Before Willis made an even bigger fool of himself, I was thinking about this. Now it's just a must. In my opinion, we need firepower to compete. Our defense could use a little bit of help (especially in the middle), but our lack of points on the board and lack of a running game was even more of a problem. RB is one of the few positions in that can make an immediate impact straight from college. Ask Laurence Maroney, Maurice Drew, Joseph Addai, and Reggie Bush. With Willis on the last leg of his contract and fast becoming an emberassment/headache, I think it's time we draft a premier RB. While a lot of people are clamoring for Adrian Peterson, the unfortunate reality is that he won't be there at 12. However, Marshawn Lynch (whom I like even better than Peterson) most likely will be. He's a much better reciever than Willis, faster, runs harder and isn't prone to injury. Don't get me wrong, I think Willis is a decent back. But I think we need an upgrade at the position. Food for thought: Champ Bailey signed a 7 year deal with Washington worth $63 million dollars with a $18 million dollar bonus. Nate Clements seems to believe that he's the best CB in the NFL, even better than Bailey. Now I think we can all agree that he's got quite an overinflated ego. He's a good to very good CB, but he's no Champ Bailey. Nevertheless, he's said he deserves "Champ Bailey money". That being said, would anyone here really be cool with giving him that much? I wouldn't. If I was Levy, I would go no higher than: 6 Yrs./$42 Million, $14 Million Bonus

Leonard is a very prolific FB and a quality player. However, he will NOT be a 1st Round pick. If by some miracle he does, he'll sneak into the bottom. But again, I highly doubt that. We'll most likely be picking at 13 or 14. It would be the most ridiculous reach in history if we picked him. Besides, he's not the type of FB that we use in our offense. He's first and foremost a running and recieving FB. His blocking skills are average and he's not that big. If he was available in the 3rd and we addressed needs in Rounds 1 and 2, that would be one thing.

I've taken that into consideration. But Samuel is 2nd in the NFL in INT's and every season he keeps getting better. In my opinion, Samuel has upside while Clements has peaked. But since Nate is a staple of this team and has experience playing here, I put him on an equal field with Asante instead of being option #2.

You'd never get a 1st for Willis. In 2005, Shaun Alexander and Edgerrin James were both on the market for a 2nd Rounder and no one bit. Neither of them have a completely reconstructed knee and are considered better RB's than Willis. The guy is asking for a contract extension (which shows loyalty to Buffalo) and a raise. He's set to make less than a million guaranteed next year. I don't think he's out of line at all and certainly this is no reason to start creating "Trade 'em!" or "Get rid of 'em!" threads.

I think everyone is overreacting about this. Willis might not be a top-10 NFL RB, but he's better than most. He's set to make under a million guaranteed next season. I don't think he's out of line to say he deserves more than that. Nobody is holding out or badmouthing the organization or anything. So I think everyone whose calling him a jerk or wanting to cut him is pretty lame. Honestly, i'm surprised he's looking to get an extension. I was assuming that he'd sit on his contract until it was up and then sign with whomever gave him the most money. I'd love to lock up Willis and build a line around him, J.P., and Lee for the long-term future!

First and foremost, i'd try and keep Nate. But while Nate is on the market and i'd also negotiate Asante Samuel. I feel that they are both pretty even with Samuel probably having more upside. Whomever comes cheapest would be the guy i'd sign. My darkhorse however is Nick Harper from Indianapolis. He'll be going into his 7th season next year and is a fairly decent starting CB. He might not be the same calibur as Nate or Asante, but he's the next best thing to put beside McGee while not forcing Youboty into the fire.

Bironas has a very strong leg. But i've seen Lindell hit some pretty long one's with yards to spare. The whole drive didn't make sense. They're out of time outs and they're rushing the drive? There was 2 minutes left? Why rush?! We were in fairly good shape field position wise. Why didn't we run a little bit to run the clock down even more? Instead we threw two passes resulting in an incomplete and an intereception. If we had ran like we should have we would have picked up a few more yards and the kick would have been a little closer. Lindell was hitting everything all day, you have to go for the win. Dumb call. You can't even try and defend that one.

For the first time, Travis Henry faces off against Willis McGahee on opposite teams. It was practically two seasons ago when these two "teammates" were battling for supremecy in Buffalo. When Willis was drafted, Travis called it "a slap in the face". And who could forget before the 2004 season Travis saying that if he's not the starter he wants a trade just to have Willis come back and say the same thing. During that season, Willis upended Travis and had his best season as Bill. As a result, Travis was shown the door. With the Titans vs. Bills matchup, who has a bigger day? Travis Henry: Returns to the Ralph with a fire in his belly just like any player will when they feel that they were wronged. He has been bounced back from a disappointing 2005 season and has a little over 100 yards more than McGahee in about the same carries. He will be going up against the 27th ranked run defense in Buffalo. Willis McGahee: He always plays best when he's being challenged (I.E. Against former teammate John Vilma or being pushed by A-Train or Henry). People to this day second guess whether we made the right move or not. He'll probably be playing with a chip on his shoulder to prove he is the better back. Travis has stated that he is having a better season than Willis in Buffalo media and that "it is what it is". He will be going against the 29th ranked run defense in Tennessee. My support and my money is on Willis
