  1. Wow, after seeing that list of backs I am now worried that Marshawn Lynch might not last until #12. This brings to the forefront another problem with waiting until the 2nd round to get a back. People say "yeah , we'll just get Pittman in the 2nd or Kenny Irons" like no one else might pick them. There are lots of linebackers that might not become stars, but can be serviceable, but a second rate back is just about useless.
  2. It's not about a running back reaching a thousand yards, many mediocre guys have accomplished that. It's about WHEN he is gaining the yards, it's about being a "clutch" player. It's about taking the bull by the horns and willing the team to victory. Chester Taylor?
  3. I think this plays arole. It's easy to pick on the little guy, the fanbase is small. But , this gives the Bills an identity, as opposed to say the Jaguars or Chiefs, and I think will actually make them attractive to some people nationally.
  4. I wouldn't just cross the Cowboys off the list. They have a new coach and Barber wasn't THAT great. The whole RBBC thing seems a bit overworked on the board. It works great when you have McCallister and Bush (2 FIRST ROUNDERS! for all you haters out there) not so good when you have Lamont Jordan and Justin Vargas. If anything the RBBC thing would make me want a first round back even more. It seems to have developed because teams are grooming a successor to their top back, like Dillion to Maroney. It works there but somewhere like Atlanta it just seems to bring out mediocrity in each RB.
  5. When are we gonna see an article from a grandma? Or a Sociologist? Or a paternity suit lawyer? Really over-sensitivity of Buffalonians is getting to be kinda a joke. Do you think New Yorkers would still be talking about this? It would only come up when he came to town. Who cares. The local media is still trying to wring another story out of this silly event.
  6. One of the problems with finding the "next Clinton Portis" in the 2nd or 3rd round is that even if you have miraclously identified this diamond in the rough among the big list of guys rated for the 2nd and 3rd rounds, you have to hope he lasts until you pick. That takes ALOT of luck. Pittman would be third on my RB list but if he is picked before we can get him we could be really F@#!ed. I really don't buy this "yea, just get one of those 2nd rounders". Year to year there are only one or two that have good careers (bring on the "look at all the first rd busts") there are waaaaaayyyyyy more 2nd and 3rd round backs that end up special teamers.
  7. It seems like if the Bills don't get Lynch or Peterson, the next guy in line would be Antonio Pittman. He is smart and comes across well in interviews etc., probably doesn't hurt that is from Ohio State. The Bills are kinda in a quandry. They need a back, but they might have some reservations about Lynch. He seems a little tight in interviews, like he is on his best behavior. I think he is probably fine "character" wise, but if the Bills blow it, that could seriously hamper the development of the team. Pittman looks pretty good and might develop. He is a Junior. There are concerns about his size, but he could bulk up a bit, he's 5'10", the right height. The footage I have seen shows him making big runs against well blocked defenders that don't touch him until he is well past the line of scrimmage.
  8. What this seems to mean is that the Bills aren't completely sold on Marshawn Lynch (I don't think they can count on Peterson falling to 12th). Then again, maybe they are just checking out all the possibilities thoroughly. I would be disapointed if they traded for Turner, but they might not have any other reasonable option.
  9. I watched that video. The best runs were against the sh!tt!est run defense (the Bills) or when the Chargers were up by 30 points. He is a real good back up, not a franchise back.
  10. I love the way Lynch NEVER gives up. He and Peterson both run hard and with alot of competitiveness(to go with great skills). Peterson looks incredible too, but I see him standing straight up in the middle of the the line sometimes. I can see him getting hurt alot though he may be the one that is more talented. Lynch looks so good in traffic. I would be happy with either guy.
  11. Yeah but you have to FIND them, you have to find that guy among the 15 top rated guys.. That could take a few drafts, or decades.
  12. Right. Tons of backs have been drafted through the years, lots don't turn out. Some guys are 3rd and 4th rounders that have real good careers. , but LOOK AT THE SUPER BOWL WINNERS! Almost all 1st Round guys. THERE IS A REASON! You gotta take the chance. AGAIN, one team wins, 31 lose. Most Super Bowl winners had a 1st round guy....I don't know how else to put it. You draft a 1st round guy, you have a BETTER chance (not a gaurantee)
  13. So any running back will do? Why even draft one then? We have Shaud, the guy from NFL Europe A Thomas. Let's just sign a guy that goes undrafted
  14. A Thomas is a pretty good back-up, kind of an older Dominick Rhodes. He is not gonna lead the Bills to the Promised Land, get real.
