  1. Geez. This isn't even the first eye opening thing I've seen regarding him and women in the past week. Hopefully he gets it together, stays off the suspension list, and focuses all his energy on Football going forward. https://www.marca.com/en/nfl/buffalo-bills/2022/04/14/625868a622601ddf438b45eb.html
  2. Half of those guys you quoted I addressed serious concerns with in the very post you quoted. And they didn't even involve age. As for the other 3 - Chris Harris played 9 games in 2020 and started 11 in 2021, he's considered injury prone. A.J. Bouye has played a total of 17 games over the past two seasons. Starting only 14 in 2 years. Xavier Rhodes may be the safest bet, but last season he allowed a 62% catch rate when targeted. Ranking 51st amongst CBs. None of these guys are guys you should feel comfortable starting. That's why they haven't been signed by any of the 32 teams. At this point, they're depth role players. And you said it - we didn't have Tre down the stretch last season. And it proved why, especially in the position we're in, you can't place such little emphasis as you're implying on the other starting CB position. Tre goes down and we're screwed. As for Dane Jackson, we had him last season. He did not perform well and could not beat out Levi Wallace. He's not the answer at CB2. We need to try and get someone who has the potential to, at the very least, be an upgrade from Levi. At most someone who can come in and be able to handle CB1, if something were to happen to Tre. We've let that opportunity pass us by in FA. Taking a mid round CB like Emerson or Taylor-Britt and signing one of these guys, while keeping our fingers crossed that Tre doesn't take a step back returning from injury is very risky. Especially when we probably won't have Tre to start the season.
  3. I think the rotation was frequent because we lacked studs across the line, especially at DE. Hughes and Addison were showing serious signs of decline and age and needed to be kept fresh. Rousseau was a Rookie and they probably felt they needed to bring him along slowly, at first. And obviously, the DT position opposite Oliver was less than ideal until Phillips came on later in the season. Having Von, Rousseau having more experience, and (imo) a more talented group of guys at the other DT spot - I fully expect that we'll rotate a little less than we have in years passed.
  4. Then downplaying the need at CB is not as revelatory to me as some. What do you expect them to say? They're not going to come out and say "We're in really bad shape at CB. We don't like the guys we have in the building now. We HAVE to draft a guy and high".
  5. What's plenty? As stated in my post, Haden's coming off his worst statistical year. Fuller's coming off a season where he was benched. Bryce Callahan started just 6 games last season and is more of a Nickel CB than an outside guy. I don't know how it's possible after watching what was done to our Secondary by the Chiefs that Beane would not only not be looking for someone who could be an upgrade from Levi Wallace, but value the position even less by waiting and taking just whatever journeyman is left over at the end of FA for whatever we have left. I do believe we will sign one of those guys. But there's no way in my mind that they think that's the definitive answer and they're cool with just that.
  6. And Kyle Fuller is coming off a year where he was benched for poor performance: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/10/22/after-high-profile-signing-broncos-have-benched-kyle-fuller/ Everyone that's still out there is out there for a reason. To an extent, I understand having some concern with starting a Rookie who may (or may not) take a little time to get his sea legs under him, if you will. But I vehemently disagree with the notion of many that signing and starting one of these guys is a necessity and would definitively put us in a much better position than starting a Rookie ever possibly could. Exactly this. Logic says that if they viewed starting a veteran at CB as an absolute necessity, we would have attacked it like we attacked other positions in FA. We would not have let the well almost completely dry up and go into the Draft with a hole there. I believe we will sign a veteran late in the Offseason to provide depth and added help with Tre out for a bit to start the season. But that will be in conjunction with a 1st or 2nd Round Draft Pick. None of these guys available are anything more than a 1 year band aid.
  7. So we're going to pay what we're paying Diggs and then pay Samuel the same if not more? I'm not even going to get into the idea that Hodgins (a guy we released and sat on the PS to be signed at any point) and Stevenson (who will most likely be doing the same this season) would be trade bait. Also pay Tre what we're paying him and sign Bradberry to what he's going to want long term? HA!!!
  8. Speed is the one trait that they've been talking about needing all offseason. It's what our WR core is lacking on the top end. He also provides more yards after catch than Olave. I think you're seriously dismissing his traits as a prospect by saying he doesn't provide anything special.
  9. Apparently you don't consider speed a special trait for a WR. He ran faster than everyone you mentioned at the Combine, save for Williams, who is coming off an ACL tear. I didn't mention him anyways as it wouldn't shock me if he were the 1st WR off the board, even with the ACL tear. But there is no way Wilson is the 5th WR taken.
  10. 2 votes for Christian Watson over Garrett Wilson? I like Christian Watson but c'mon! The guy was a 3rd Round prospect a few months ago and now he has superfans around here that have him as WR1. Absolute insanity.
  11. Yeah, Garrett Wilson is more often than not the 1st WR off the board. How 4 WR's went in the 1st Round and he wasn't one of them is baffling. Zero chance Chris Olave AND Treylon Burks go before Wilson.
  12. Sure, it will cost a 1st if you want Gardner or Stingley. But i'm more or less talking about moving up for Booth or McDuffie, if one is the guy Beane has targeted. About half of all mocks and more than half of the simulations I've done have them both gone a few picks before 25. It wouldn't cost a 1st to move up a handful of picks. I don't see Beane just sitting on his hands and hoping his guy falls to 25. And if we wait until Round 2 - there is most likely a large dropoff by the time 57 rolls around. We'd be lucky if McCreary were on the board. Elam and Gordon will be long gone. I personally feel that after watching the Playoffs, they decided they needed more talent than Levi on the other side. If we wait until Round 57 or 89, we could luck out. But with the hole we have and Tre being out, I don't see that as a wise move.
  13. Because in this mock, he'd be the best available CB. Would you remove all other CB's too? And if not, why select a lesser talent? I just think doing mocks for the sake of drafting someone different each time is odd.
  14. I don't understand the logic in this. We have to select a different guy in Round 1 each time?
  15. I find a flaw in your rational if you think we were truly in on Gilmore. Our "interest" was almost definitely just checking in on if we could get a bargain for him being available this late in FA. If he was truly someone we were interested in at the price range he were asking, we'd have been in on him early and would have been one of his visits. Any of these other guys you mentioned are band aids. They're either ancient, career journeyman, or guys who have underperformed in recent years. Fuller, for example, was benched last season for poor play. If the plan were to simply go veteran, they wouldn't have let the market dry up this much. It would have been addressed before now. I think we'll grab a guy later in the Offseason for a bargain. But that's just to provide some extra help with Tre down and depth. With what we're paying Tre, I think we're looking for an upgrade in talent from Levi long term at a cost controlled price. Only way to do that is to Draft a guy.
  16. If he wants one of the top four CB's, better chance that they won't be there at 25 than it is they are. I'm not saying a massive move for a Gardner or Stingley is likely (though I don't think it's a definite no), calling him an "idiot" to make a move up a few picks to guarantee he gets the guy he wants is ridiculous.
  17. The flaw in this mock is with the Bills pick being a User Vote, the Bills have to stay put at 25 while all these other teams are moving up. I almost expect Beane to do the same as I don't think he's just going to sit there and hope the CB prospect he likes will fall to him at 25.
  18. When I think of veteran players that could be traded, I think of young talents who were highly touted prospects coming out of college that were drafted on Day 1 or 2 who teams may have liked coming out and may think they can get more out of in their system as opposed to ours. Also these players must be players that won't hurt us terribly to move on from. That being said, the veteran players that I think are the most likely to be moved would be Zack Moss, Cody Ford, and either A.J. Epenesa or Carlos Basham. We aren't going to move starters that we feel good about and would have to replace. If you're trading for a premium asset and then creating a hole you didn't have before that will require a premium asset to replace, you aren't gaining much of anything.
  19. Considering he reported today, the answer is no. So is the idea he will be traded. Not happening.
  20. He's no longer in the Inner Circle. But who knows, maybe he is a part of the Brandon Beane Appreciation Society. I like Breece Hall. But part of me does want to see the boo boo faces if he were on the board and we chose someone else. No, but their picks at the top of each round after their first two picks are close enough to our picks at the end of the round prior to have an effect.
  21. Wonder who their Pro Golfer partners would be? He saw how Lamar has looked every year since his MVP year and changed his mind 😛
  22. We don't need a "Slot Corner". We have a really good Nickel in Taron Johnson that we just paid a Long Term contract to. We need an Outside Corner. Maybe two. Could Daxton Hill do that? Maybe. But he didn't do it in College. I'm not one of you "we can't start a Rookie at CB" type of fans. If the talent is there, I have no problem starting a Rookie. But a Rookie who is playing a position in the Pro's that he didn't in College? That's a little risky for my blood. But if Beane has faith in him to do it, I would too. Though it would REALLY surprise me. I suppose we could try him there and if it didn't work out, we could move him to his more natural position of Safety next season when Poyer most likely leaves and try again at CB. Though with the need at CB we have this season, it feels like quite the risk to take a projection.
  23. Considering it makes no mention of his extension from a month ago, that was written before we did: https://billswire.usatoday.com/2022/03/14/mitch-morse-two-year-extension-buffalo-bills/
  24. I'm almost expecting him to move up to ensure he lands one of the top 4 CB's in this Draft. I don't see him just sitting at 25 and hoping the guy he likes falls to him. Maybe just a few picks, but I gotta be honest, I would not be shocked to see him make a big leap up to grab one of the top two if one starts to slip a little bit. Those being in this order: Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner - Cincinnati Derek Stingley Jr. - LSU Andrew Booth - Clemson Trent McDuffie - Washington Any of those four would start immediately and I have little doubt they'd be any worse than Levi Wallace (each to differing degrees). After that, either at 25, as part of a trade down, or a trade up from 57, he'd have to at least grab one of (personally, in this order, but I'd trust him if he had it ranked differently): Kaiir Elam - Florida Kyler Gordon - Washington Roger McCreary - Auburn Tariq Woolen - UTSA Daxton Hill - Michigan could be somewhere near the top of that list as well. He's a Safety, Nickel hybrid, but apparently there's a lot of teams that feel he can play Outside CB. If Beane felt strongly about that, I'd trust him. In my eyes, we MUST grab one of those top 9 guys by mid Round 2 at the latest. It's not even an option. We have no choice.
