  1. Wonder what would have happened if the government tried to cap-n-trade their output? http://www.realclearmarkets.com/articles/2...ists_97523.html
  2. If true, Ralph really put his money where his mouth is. Good for him. Now, if Shanahan doesn't take that deal, what more could he want?
  3. http://www.upi.com/Business_News/2009/11/2...62061259067068/ What a cool and fun idea.....own the Silverdome. I can only imagine bringing various bands in, monster truck shows, Miss USA pageant (hey, do it for America in Detroit) and you, the owner, hanging out and partying with everyone. I see the script for an awesome comedy movie here...
  4. Not sure about that. He spent Bowlen's money liberally (per Vic Carucci below), but was always will to try and improve the team. With Shanny, you would not see Langston Walker cut two days before camp. I am also willing to believe that the man may have made some mistakes, but learned from them. When someone gets fired unexpectedly, you probably do a little soul searching. I think Shanahan would be terrific with the Bills. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d81474bb9
  5. Poz would be awesome in a 3-4. He would be a Chris Spielman-like playmaker. It hides his lack of speed a bit more than a 4-3. Of course, if we go 3-4, does this mean we take a big run at a free agent NT? Wilfork? I think the SD guy and the Pit guy may also be free agents.
  6. You know, the symmetry of it all would be great. I'd have no problem if Marty was brought in to head the team.
  7. jw, thanks for the great read.
  8. Anyone hear anything else on how Wodd's surgery went? I haven't seen anything on iit such as the specific procedure he underwent. Thanks in advance.
  9. Bummer. Marty (with fire in the belly), would have been a good coach.
  10. I totally agree with you. I'm not convinced Cowher is that great of a coach. He had a structure that was second to none in Pitt, with a future HOF DC in LeBeau (remember what he did in 2004 for us, pretty awesome for one year), a great OC in Whisehut, great OL coach in Grimm. That was a terrific staff. Contrast that with Marty, who has worked in various scenarios with many different types of people on staff. I'd be far more excited by Marty than Cowher. Of course, Shanahan is the holy grail for me, but I'd be very happy if we played Marty-ball should Shanahan decide to go elsewhere.
  11. I'm going to wait until Chris Brown reports it. You know with Brown that the story will always be right. You may have to wait for it, but you can take the story to the bank.
  12. Damn. My "Eric Wood" AFL throwback arrived on Thursday. Godspeed in your recovery. I hope it goes well enough for you to play again. I have no other words.
  13. I'm not really buying it either, but I am cautiously optimistic that the man is 91 and really does want a SB trophy. He figures this may be the last coach he hires and wants to get it right. And Knox did work out for a few years. I have to say I get that all warm and fuzzy feeling when I think of Mike Shanahan evaluating and using our top 10 pick on a QB.
  14. Check these out...pretty f*cked up. http://www.chinahush.com/2009/10/21/amazin...ution-in-china/
  15. They make get some "anybody but the incumbent" votes, but please do not mistake that for true support for an idealogically bankrupt and non-existant agenda.
  16. jw Ignore him, someone pissed in his cornflakes this morning. The rest of us appreciate the heads up. Thanks.
  17. Baby steps, PTR. The organization is one step away from being the Detroit Lions. Lets get Shanahan in here to draft a QB with our top 10 pick. Shanahan knows more about QBs than any coach we have ever had and I trust him to make the right pick. Lets build a contender team with Shanahan. If he ultimately is not the guy to take us over the top, we'll find someone else. He would, however, restore respectability to the organization and provide some direction. Not to mention the guy is a fair counterpart scheming against Belicheat.
  18. I quote the esteemed TBD poster who originally came up with this... If killdrive is our next HC, I will burn my bills stuff (anything not-SB era related). I have never been more disgusted with an OC than I was with killdrive.
  19. I wonder since Shanahan is an offensive guy (who I would trust with a top 5 pick in a QB heavy draft), who would be the DC? Would we keep Fewell? The D has not been awful despite the atrocious run defense ranking. They have caved late in the 4th, but overall have kept the Bills in many games.
  20. He owns a career 6-3 mark against Belicheat and the Pats*. +1 Shanahan
  21. Not too shabby, I'd be on board with Marty-ball.
  22. Superbowl era or throwback, I'm fine with either. Just get rid of the current abortion-that-should-have-been.
  23. I like it. Get some real football guys in there.
  24. Agree completely. If Marty wanted it, I'd be thrilled if Ralph hired Marty.
  25. If we go the coordinator route, I really want to see him at least interviewed. He was 1 or 3 finalists for Pitts job, Whisenhut and Tomlin are currently doing great work. Maybe Grimm could be a great coach as well.
