  1. Fair point, I stand corrected. Parcells appeared (though didn't win) twice. Doesn't mean Cowher is the right coach.
  2. Strange...they say we have a debt/value % of 14%. They define debt/value as including stadium debt. I didn't realize we have any debt (outside of, perhaps, short term commercial paper, which really should not be considered debt). Anyone have any insight here?
  3. I'm not a fan of Cowher. He had all the support from ownership and the front office a guy could want, his teams consistently choked or outclassed by Belichik...no thanks. He won't take us to the promised land. There are exactly zero coaches who have won the SB with 2 teams, hell the only coaches to appear on behalf of two franchises are Holmgren and Shula. I'd be in for a guy who has never won a SB, young or old, with a proven record of success. Guys like Marty Schottenheimer or Russ Grimm.
  4. I agree with your statements in bold. I read a very interesting piece by Lee Jenkins of Sports Illustrated (you can read it here) on the way Mike Illitch owns and operates the Detroit Tigers. Now, the Tigers are not the best of teams, but they try and have had some success lately, since Illitch owned them. Detroit is a similar market to Buffalo and I think many of the statements are appropriate allusions to the Bills. The most interesting quote was the following: Thats what a sports team is, its more than a business; it is a public trust. And, after yesterday, I'm beginning to lose faith. C'mon Ralph...you invested $25,000 or whatever 50 years ago. Your return to your estate will at least be $750 million. Pretty nice right? Lets spend some cash and go out with a bang....public trust, public trust, public trust, c'mon say it with me Ralph...
  5. I'd also heard that you'd have an easier time if you could produce a copy of a police report indicating your wallet was lost/stolen.
  6. This is the reason I'm spending a few weeks in Jan/Feb on various Carribean islands. They have some great deals right now for travel in Jan/Feb.
  7. Why doesn't the NFL have a short-term IR? Like the 15 day DL in baseball...I don't understand a guy who will miss 8 weeks now missing the whole year because of being placed on IR. Kinda put the teams in a bind, play a man down for 8 weeks and hopefully get your guy back for the last 5 weeks and playoffs or lose him for the year. Kinda sucks there's no short term IR.
  8. My dream coach....Tony Dungy!
  9. I was suprised watching this, figuring the classic 59 Bel Air would perform better than the 09 Malibu, needless to say I was mistaken. Now, if they could only design a decent looking car... http://www.businessinsider.com/beautiful-1...r-safety-2009-9
  10. Interesting comments by Greggo in the article on page 1....taking it with a grain of salt becase obviously hindsight is 20/20, but....
  11. Stone St. next week? Weather's been decent.
  12. The ACORN response....sue the two kids.... http://abovethelaw.com/2009/09/lawsuit_of_..._acorn.php#more EDIT: And a half decent legal analysis as to whetehr ACORN has a claim... http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=Z...MxZWUwYmViY2Q=#
  13. Considering Phaneuf is one of the top 10 d-men in the league, I'd say "who can we give you for a 10-year blue line anchor D-man"?
  14. Ninos in West Seneca is good. Same with Bocce Club in Lackawanna.
  15. Danger Zone Eye of the Tiger just for starters...
  16. I'm conflicted about this game. I usually love an agressive D, but against the Saints it may be wise to play more of a zone and force the Saints to make long drives to score. Philly got killed by the blitz, after their D was put in bad spots by turnovers.
  17. If we take care of the ball. amd don't turn the ball over, we will be OK.
  18. Agreed. T. McGee seems to combine Nate's coverage ability with an improving tackling ability thats approaching Winfield-esque.
  19. Very impressed with McGee, great to know he will be a long term Bill!
  20. I noticed this as well. I'd love to see how often we blitzed. It seemed like we brought xtra guys every time and only got truly burned on the last TD.
  21. I just want to commend the Bills on signing McGee. Great job Buffalo! I love it.
  22. How about this... 1- SB 25 2- SB 26 3- SB 27 4- SB 28 5- Home Run Throw Forward 6- 1995 Playoff Loss at Pitt 7- 1996 Playoff Loss at Home to Jax 8- 1988 AFC title game at Cinci 9- 1989 Ronnie Harmon Playoff Loss at Cle 10- 2004 loss to Pitt 2nd stringers that puts us in the playoffs Playoff losses are much harder to take, let alone SBs. Regular season losses may be large and hurt, but nothing compares to "Season Over" after hopes are really raised.
  23. BTW - Thanks for the recommendation. I was there with 2 co-workers and we had a great time (until the last 2 min). The bar was great and full of Bills fans. The Coors Light girls were hot (along with some of the patrons) and it was a really cool place to watch a game.
  24. Excellent! Thanks a lot. See you Monday.
  25. Going to be out there for the opener. The link in the backers forum is pretty old. Are there still Bills backers in Denver? In the alternative, any recommendations for a decent sports bar to watch the game Mon nite (I'm staying at the Sheraton Downtown on Court Place). Thanks.
