  1. I think its a pretty good idea to bus the legislature far, far away and start over. Good one!
  2. Kick ass song, but you may want to rethink the concept of ELizabeth Reed... http://burningtaper.blogspot.com/2008/01/i...abeth-reed.html And my contribution to the thread... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sMWTqUuSh4
  3. I'll admit the use of 9/11 was not right. Yes, he did a fine job. Lets move on. As you say, he did a great job as NYC mayor IMHO. I think he could do a good job as govenor if he has the stomach for the type of fighting necessary to get NYS back on track. I don't know if he does (and I'm a big Rudy backer).
  4. Rudy v. Cuomo would be a real dogfight. I hope Rudy has the stomach for that type of fight.
  5. OMFG...women being asked to show their tatas! What is this world coming to?
  6. Thats pretty cool. I have one from the 20s, one of the real old style candlestick phones (looks like this. It was in my grandfather's attic, I took it when he passed away. Along the way, someone has modified it to work by plugging in a modern phone line. During the NYC blackout a few years ago, we plugged it in and it worked to make phone calls and connect with people, as it was one of the few items that did not need to be plugged in. My wife's best friend was able to get in touch with her NYPD husband using this phone. Valuable to keep around.
  7. "This is a test. For the next sixty seconds, this station will conduct a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. This is only a test. If this had been an actual emergency, the Attention Signal you just heard would have been followed by official information, news or instructions. This concludes this test of the Emergency Broadcast System." Rotary Dial Phones Phone Booths Wind-Up Wall Clocks (I have one, but they are rarely seen)
  8. Agreed. Oher at LT and leaving Walker at RT would make me feel a whole lot better about our OL heading into this year. Oher Levitre/Butler Hamgartner Wood Walker I would have loved that. As is, I think LT is the position we are likely to focus on in the next draft.
  9. You could call it that...or the largest Ponzi scheme ever perpetrated.
  10. He will have one role this year....3rd and long, see QB, get QB. He will rely on speed and natural talent, rather than learning the defensive system. He will have no coverage responsibilities or other defensive tasks. I don't like the holdout any more than anyone else here, but I don't think it will change his role from what it would have been anyway. Best case scenario (and I'm not comparing the players, just the impact)...Cornelius Bennett in 1987.
  11. I made the same decision years ago myself. I'm buying you a for a great post.
  12. No, just that actions have consequences. If a person is ready to accept those consequences, go ahead. Its the blame others issue I have a problem with. The Marlboro man didn't cause me to start smoking, its a choice I made and I will live with the consequences.
  13. Yes and you can do that with homemade chicken soup, chili, cold pasta salad, chicken or eggplant parmesan etc. Cook one day a week, eat healthy for the next 4-5 days, with very little time involved for those days. Want a little variety, have a tuna/egg salad/pbj sandwich one day a week. Its not that friggin' difficult. That single mom with 3 kids is likely to be on food stamps. Tell her to shop on the edges of the grocery store (where the real food is) and stay out of the middle of the grocery store (where the crap is). It really is a mindset.
  14. Thats what I am hoping to find for my son. Anyone know if the Bills will be selling youth throwbacks?
  15. Ought to be required viewing for every DMV driver test.
  16. No Wood 70 yet?
  17. I call shenanigans. No way #5 is true. And #6 is absurd. Not buying it. BS scare tactic.
  18. Button down shirt, dress slacks and dress shoes would be appropriate IMHO. Whatever you wear, make sure it is clean and pressed, and the shoes are shined.
  19. Thinking the same thing. I wouldn't have a problem dealing draft picks if I was the Bills for proven NFL talent.
  20. Not to restart any debate, but as a dog-owner what Vick did was deplorable and he deserved as much punishment as he got, perhaps even moreso. However, he pled guilty, was sentenced and served real jail time. He declared bankruptcy. In my book, he paid his debt to society and now can move on with his life. If that involves playing football for my favorite team, so be it, as long as he helps the Bills win games.
  21. Was George Siefert with him? Seriously, I'd love it to be true, but highly doubt it.
  22. As a smoker, that would be very difficult. I always travel with the patch, but may have had to use the old "I have medication I need in my checked luggage below" to just get off the plane.
  23. If you're gonna fall off the wagon, this is definately the way to do it! http://deadspin.com/5332801/the-devil-is-s...ne=true&s=x
  24. In NYC, this summer has sucked. It rained every day in June; July was a mixed bag of some decent, sunny days and some gray, cloudy days. Temperature has barely cracked 90, unusual for NYC. Hoping August is good and maybe we get a late summer into September and October, but who knows. Global warming my a$$.
  25. Ever seen a World Bank/IMF meeting? The nutjob left is just as violent as the nutjob right.
