  1. No offense intended to Ralph, but c'mon. Lets start with the obvious... Paying Antoine Winfield, Pat Williams and Jason Peters would have been a good start. Letting Pro Bowl caliber players walk out the door and get riches from elsewhere reinforces the notion that all RW cares about is the bottom line, not winning. These guys were long-time Bills and Winfield and Williams (in addition to being good guys) would have taken hometown discounts to stay. Then, we don't spend draft picks replacing those guys and constantly spinning our wheels, never really getting any better. Look at this year....we will spend either a 1st or 2nd round pick or a metric asston of money in the free agent market getting a LT. If we use the 1st on a LT, that means we don't take McClain or Cody. We just make the OL decent, but don't add valuable pieces to our D. If we had signed Peters, then we could have used the pick elsewhere. It was reported that Shanahan and possibly Cowher asked the Bills to make a commitment re: amount of money spent on players. Was Ralph willing to do that? Did he do that for Nix/Gailey? Players make the coach, not the other way around. That said, I agree we are better off with Nix/Gailey than we have been in quite some time.
  2. Seriously. In 2010? I can't even believe this is still an issue in the USA. What friggin' backwards people.
  3. Good for #56 in the Chargers jersey, giving the Jet fan's gf his contact info to act as a witness. Not sure if the Jet fan was arrested or merely escorted out of the stadium. Either way, it appears to be BS from that video.
  4. NGU...thanks. Much appreciated, as always. I can't say I'm happy with Chan, I was a Grimm or Shanahan guy. But Nix is a "football" guy, which is what we have wanted all along. The "football" guy chose Chan to run his team. I will give him a shot. Hopefully, Modrak and Nix can put together another strong draft and we can fill at least one big hole in free agency.
  5. It worked OK for the last 6 years of Clinton's term. The nation became obsessed with blue dresses and blowjobs, rather than 22% underemployment and underwater mortgages. I'd gladly return to the late 90s, they seem quaint in a way.
  6. Buddy may have had a hand in a lot of our picks last year. I'm not sure, but if Modrak had not been overruled by Jauron for Maybin/Cushing (or so says the rumor); then last year's draft would have been epic.
  7. Or perhaps we vote for a divided government, giving neither the Republican wackos or Democratic loons enough power to actually accomplish anything. Which is good, because whenever anything is "accomplished" it results in either a loss of civil liberties, higher taxes or both.
  8. Yes, by absentee ballots.
  9. Put Wood at C and let Incognito play RG. Butler plays RT. Levitre at LG. We just need to find a LT. I like our OL better already.
  10. No, not "out," but a little bit of color there would be helpful (to the extent Tim can add any, if not understood). I mean the Marty news is bombshell stuff.
  11. I did. Ordered the white AFL one with "Wood" on it. It looks great.
  12. I second that question. Where did the Marty info come from?
  13. The Jets run a boring offense, they play this weekend in the AFC title game. Pitts won two SBs this decade with a boring offense. Parcells won 2 SBs with a boring offense. I hope we have a boring offense that controls the line of scrimmage and wins games.
  14. And just what QB has Chan Gailey ever developed?
  15. No, because he is rambling and not making any point re: fundamentals and tough guys. C'mon, save that bs.
  16. We're putting this incoherent guy against Belicheat*? God help us.
  17. 1978 actually. Edward Brooke served 2 terms. I think Brown has said every 5 minutes that he will cast the deciding vote against health care reform. Made the campaign single-issue. If the folks in the People's Republic of Massachusetts can't get on board with health care, the Dems are in for a real bloodbath come November.
  18. Interesting question. I have had ST for the last decade or so. It is getting ridiculous on a per game basis (I only watch the Bills). Out of the 16 games, I tend to go to 2-3, watch any night games out in a bar (McFaddens), and watch the Jet game (in Buff) on local TV for free. So, at most, I use ST to watch 11 games. Thats $37.63 per game. I was hoping that ST would come on a pay-per-game basis, say $20 a game. I'd save a good chunk of money. I will seriously consider dropping it this year, but probably won't actually drop it. I will try to negotiate a cheaper fee, however.
  19. Except that team had no less than 5 future Hall of Famers on it when Levy got here.
  20. If Modrak was really overuled in the drafts and now he will be listented to (re: Cushing over Maybin), then there is hope. We will see in the 1st round come April.
  21. I'd like to see Vanderbilt's numbers before I would agree Fla is tops in grad rates. I'll bet Vandy's numbers are pretty damn good.
  22. I will only start getting nervous if Grimm turns us down and/or is not offered the job. I'm really feelin' Grimm as HC. And I don't get where this whole *one* interview thing comes from. We interviewed the following guys: Shanahan Fewell Frazier Cowher with Grimm up next. Thats a decent list.
  23. 7/9...missed Tusker and Kingfisher. Knew 5, guessed the other 4.
