LOL! If this inetresting article is to be believed, Uchitel and Kalika Moquin acted, basically as pimps for Tiger. Maybe I should have ste the O/U at 100!

Up to 11 now....I'm setting the O/U at an even 18. Any takers?

If the EPA sucessfully declares carbon emmisions a threat to the health of Americans and must be regulated by the EPA, say hello to another 5% in unemployment and bye-bye to job creation. I'm not certain the EPA could survive a contitutional challenge, but it may take and Act of Congress to overrule the EPA. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedc...vLuVLgKVygMZ8oL http://www.businessinsider.com/gartman-the...k-havoc-2009-12

I would not have a problem with Zimmer (or Grimm). I had heard (read somewhere?) that Zimmer was viewed by many as very much a young Parcells-type. If we go the young coach route, however, we need a real NFL GM.

The Toronto Argos may move out of Skydome
bills_fan replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats one of those "now, you know you are old" quotes...Skydome...replaced? Damn, I remember going in the early 90s for baseball games with my grandfather, big improvement over Exhibition Stadium. It was brand new and gorgeous. Always thought I'd like to get one of those hotel rooms that overlooks the field someday. To think they are talking about replacing it....I definately feel old. -
Thats why the pick was arrogant, just like Willis McGahee was an arrogant pick when you already have Travis. Yes, he'll need time to develop and will not contribute much for a 1-2 years. Meanwhile, we have a massive hole at LT after trading Jason peters and a decent guy on the board to fill it...Michael Oher. Imagine if our young OL included Levitre (who made big strides already this year), Wood (who was developing) and Oher...pretty bright future right? Instead Maybin has been watching Kelsey/Denney all year...real productive.

And Cory Rist is the best looking yet. She's friggin hot.

They have been talking about a transaction tax for decades, its not going to happen. As for the "carried inetrest" provision, it was never intended to cover 2 and 20. So, I really don't see a big problem there.

No arguments from me. Let em all go to defined contribution plans (401ks) rather than defined benefit plans like pensions.

Gay Marriage Bill Defeated In NYS Senate

True, and I wish that all would. Unfortunately, I'm too cynical to ever think thats going to happen. -
Absolutely right. And I'm not saying this proposal that passed is perfect, but at least its a start.

Obese air passenger in economy seat has picture taken
bills_fan replied to erynthered's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Don't misunderstand me, I said "for most," not "all." There are folks with legitimate weight issues due to neurophysical problems. However, *again* for most *again* the effects can be greatly mitigated by consuming less calories than one burns in any given day. Furthermore, eating healthy all natural food rather than processed crap full of additives and preservatives will help tremendously. Not saying every girl will be a size 6 or every dude an adonis, but those simple actions will greatly reduce the chances anyone gets fat and signficantly help an individual lose weight. I am certainly not discounting the scientific findings of a researcher other than saying "don't" eat that stuff. -

I disagree. For most, it is pretty simple. Don't consume more calories than you burn in a day. Ergo, you will not get fat. If you have a sedentary office job and do not work out, adjust your eating habits accordingly. Instead of hitting the vending machine, have an apple. Instead of a huge dinner, have a decent sized lunch so that you have time to burn off the calories. Its not rocket science. -

Yes. Thats an excellent idea. Hell, I usually pay extra for extra legroom and an aisle seat just to be comfortable on airlines. My money, my choice. No way in hell I'm dealing with encroachment from Fatty McButterpants next to me. -
About time. Dems losing Nassau and Westchester 1 year after the Dem sweep should be a wake-up call. As for Reps, I hope they do not read too much into the wins; if they don't cut taxes, they'll be out too. I think a lot of incumbants will be out the door in 2010. People don't want to deal with higher taxes. If Congress raises, look out.

Thurman Thomas disrespected by two current players

OK, you believe quasi-sober "accounts," I'll believe my own eyes and ears who have interacted with them on multiple occasions. -
He doesn't need permission. The Freedom to Display the Flag Act provides that "A condominium association, cooperative association, or residential real estate management association may not adopt or enforce any policy, or enter into any agreement, that would restrict or prevent a member of the association from displaying the flag of the United States on residential property within the association with respect to which such member has a separate ownership interest or a right to exclusive possession or use." I'd argue that even being asked to fill out a form would "restrict or prevent " the display. I'd go even futher and say that a flagpole in front of your two story townhouse that is less than the total height of the building is reasonable within the act (whereas an 80' pole in front of a 25' townhouse is not). Hell, if I had a VA law license, I'd take his case for free. Until I won on his behalf of course, then I'd bill the association my fees (based on my NYC law firm rates). F*$# 'em.

Imagine you are 25-29 years old, have millions of dollars, the adoration of millions of people and every good looking girl in sight throwing themselves at you. You going to be the same down to earth guy you always were? I can't imagine its easy. And you have "heard way too many first hand accounts," is shaky at best in which to base an opinion. First hand experience (not accounts) that you have had with them is the better way to form an opinion. I'd also venture to say first hand experience while sober is even better. I've had that experience and they are both good guys (as are Talley and Bruce). -
Gay Marriage Bill Defeated In NYS Senate
bills_fan replied to Lt. Dan's Revenge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Exactly. Permit "marriage" to be granted only by religious institutions. Permit governmental authorities to grant "legal partnership" status. Problem solved. Really disappointing that vote was such a disaster. So many rights and privledges are attached to the word "marriage" and it is a shame that two people in a commitment relationship have such legal barriers, both on the Federal level (as Chef rightly points out) and on the state level. -

LOL...Yep. Really obese people can't ride rollercoasters. Saw that this summer multiple times at Hershey Park. Immense fat f*ck gets in seat, bar won't close, high school kid has to tell immense fat f*ck that they cannot go on ride, immense fat f*uck gets all pouty and holds up the ride for everyone else before finally exiting. Why should flying be any different? -

He should be lumping John Guy in with Modrak. Guy has, arguably, been worse than Modrak. -

Just wanted to add about Ad Aware that they were recommended to me by my employer's IT folks. I work at a very large employer and solicited recommendations from them for antivirus when I bought my new machine back in March.
-
I use Ad Aware from Lavasoft and paid for the license to get auto updates because I'm too lazy to run it myself. I have been happy with it and it guards also an overly expensive computer that I bought.
